  1. StPaulHusker really stirring the pot. StPaulSeminole?
  2. Speaking of the rare occasion where we see a bypassing of three strikes.... As entertaining as some of the subsequent commentary about the ban was, I moved them to the junkyard. Saved this one so we'll remember what it was for, and accountability's so we'll remember that he's a fan of balls. you know, just the important stuff. Carry on. GOOD CALL!!!!!!! I always knew you were the reasonable mod zoog I don't know about that Crewe. That guy had me wrapped around his little finger after only two posts. Gotta admit he got banned proper. No respect for authority with that guy. He did it right.
  3. Had to +1 your first post just because of your user name. Great name. Welcome aboard.
  4. Holy friggin hell. See, just see what happens when somebody takes wifi seriously. What are the chances there is absolutely nothing to this whole story and it turns out some unsuspecting person was dumb enough to think wifi was a source? lol Respect.
  5. I don't recall much (sorry-getting old) but I do remember Busch Light being abused. I think the criteria for beer in college was as follows; 1- Free 2- Cheap 3- Cold In that order.
  6. Allegedly the unnamed source said it could be wifi, unless it turns out to not be wifi. Look for further information to be posted on this in the near future.
  7. I agree with this but those are some pretty big "ifs" and "pretty sures". IF they signed a team contract and subsequently didn't live up to their end of the bargain then, as we used to say in the frat "your bags can be found out on 16th street". I am struggling with a potential zero tolerance policy for underage drinking or marijuana use though. These players are also college students, aren't they? I understand that if they know the rules then shame on them but, if those are the rules, seems a bit stringent to me. IMO, those should be at least 1 or 2 warning offenses before serious repercussions. Who cares if you're a college student? The law is the law and team rules are team rules. In the military, if you get caught smoking weed, you're going to go to jail, lose rank, lose privileges, and lose money. Getting kicked off a team after repeatedly breaking the rules seems like a pretty light punishment, if you ask me. I said I agreed with you IF they broke team rules they had consented to. Problem here is; 1-this is not the military 2-there is no indication anybody repeatedly broke any rules 3-there is no confirmation anything at all actually took place yet and 4-it sounds to me like you really have no idea what the team rules are or if there is a zero tolerance policy for any of these alleged happenings. And, being a college student is relevant. You cannot ignore the fact that these are still young adults, some only one year removed from high school. The college years are when normal people tend to experiment with some of these things. Just because they happen to play football for good ole Nebraska U does not instantly transform them into some sort of super being that is immune to societal and peer pressures. IF there is a zero tolerance policy for under age drinking or marijuana use then I will state, as a matter of fact, that policy is too strict. So, unless you have a copy of the team rules showing this to be the case, you need to back the truck up.

  9. Thank you. That's all I was getting at. *thinks to self; need to be more succinct*
  10. Those would be pretty toothless rules in the absence of any official criminal charges. However, your link was to an article on permissible threshold amounts of marijuana in NCAA blood tests. Hardly an "any and your done" type of rule. Heck 5 nanograms is a higher limit I believe than what Colorado instituted for driving under the influence. I don't mean to condone the behavior or to beat this to death before the facts are out but I sense that these "rumor leakers" may be desperate for tasty tidbits and may be anticipating harsher consequences than might be deserved. Or, maybe I'm just being hopeful that is the case.
  11. 40+63+1=104 I sense member suspensions are imminent. Fire Marshall says we're over capacity in this thread. Whose party is this anyways?
  12. Well, having pot or drug paraphernalia is a crime, fighting can be a crime, and underage drinking is a crime, so I would say yes, these definitely can lead to being kicked off the team permanently. Correct me if I'm wrong but, if any criminal charges had been filed, this story would already be beyond rumorville status. I understand that all of these things, in the right/wrong circumstance could constitute a crime. My point was that these things also could only be pretty mild infractions of team rules, only deserving of internal consequences or possibly temporary suspensions. I guess I don't know Bo's rules for sure, or if he has any zero tolerance type policies, but it seems to me that first offense for any of these shouldn't garner much more than a stern talking to. Heck, in Colorado, you couldn't even say that having pot or paraphernalia is a crime. Are our players being held to a higher standard than those in states where these items are no longer considered illegal?
  13. Alcohol, marijuana, paraphernalia, and a fight..... Do any, or all of these even combined, necessarily add up to being kicked off the team permanently? I would hope that our football players were above this behavior and smarter than that but I guess I'm missing the critical element that shouts "yeah, somebody's gone". I realize the players get scrutinized more and are held to a higher standard but, so far, it sounds like a typical Friday night from my college days.
  14. Not enough +1's for this. Best laugh I've had in quite awhile. 55 guests, 18 members, & wifi.....
  15. I'm a middle-aged Filipino woman and I hate them. Well I'm a geriatric dyslexic non-latino pacific islander and I like them.
  16. I can live with these for one game. Much better than last years alt uni IMO. Woulda been better to also go with the matte black helmet and maybe some silver/gray pants but the jersey is cool.
  17. Tried this one on Saturday. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it might be but still a little too hot to enjoy it. Used it to boil some bratwurst before grilling- worked good for that. If anybody thinks they might like a somewhat spicy chili beer, try Billies Chilies by Twisted Pine brewery. They're the same guys who make Ghost Face Killah but I really like the Billies Chilies. Very good chili flavor and just enough heat to let ya know about it. If you're around FOCO, Coopersmith's in Old Town makes an excellent Chili beer. Yes, I've had their Sigma Green Chile beer. It is very good, not as spicy as Billies Chilies but maybe a little better chile flavor. I've been on a chile beer kick this summer. That stuff is really good when it's hot outside.
  18. Well, that's sort of a bummer. I'm sure you're glad they won, but disappointed not to be there for game seven. I wasn't that invested either way. I just don't like much about Boston in general and, this is really stupid and superficial but I like the Blackhawks sweaters. I almost was swayed to switch to the Bruins though. They play very tough and physical and were better on D and I love that Tuukka Rask. More than anything I just wanted more hockey games between these two. It really was maybe the beat Cup finals I've seen in a long time. Still partial to my Av's from back in the 90's though. Some of their series with Detroit probably won't ever be topped. I still miss watching Forsberg play.
  19. Have to admit I did not see that ending coming. Looked like it was headed to a 7th game and then bang bang it's over. Great series though.
  20. I'm pulling for Chicago. So we can have one more cup. I'll be for Chicago in game seven.
