  1. to me the biggest game is definitely Texas....not only is it a conference game but it is a HOME game. If we are going to truly "restore the order" than home losses must become a thing of the past. Just my 2 cents.
  2. living in cincinnati, this board is my best link to my beloved Big Red! every day multiple times, it's ruining my marriage.
  3. OMG.....I can't wait for football season!!!
  4. no question the blackshirts are going to have to cause turnover's this season. If we finish +10 or more on the season we are definitely going to be a force on the national level.
  5. I don't know if i've ever been this excited for a season since the early nineties when everyone just knew that we were on the brink of greatness. I'm not saying NC next in 06 but I got the same feeling of anticipation. Can't freaking wait!!!!!
  6. Cant wait..I'm coming from Cincy to be there. I look forward to doin a little tailgating b4 since I probably won't be able to make it back for a game.
  7. right thanks..i'm still in winter ball shape.
  8. thank god baseball season is here!!! I love college basketball but it's still basketball. I just hope that college baseball gets as much tv time as it did last year with hockey being back. Big day for gerch, 3-3 with 5 RBI's. I think Joba is on the mound tomorrow Gooooo Biiig Reeedd....GO BIG RED!
  9. hey guys, just saw you were discussing hugs as new NU coaching prospect. I live in Cincinnati and actually had a class with his daughter. Huggins definitely has had a raw past, but, if NU is serious about building a program he is definitely a great coach. He recruits extremely well especially from this area which is a hotbed for bball talent. He still remains very popular around the area and most UC fans were outraged by his firing from nancy zipper. Also, his impact is evident in the fact that UC was a perrenial tourney team, last year I think they went to the sweet 16 but lost to Kentucky I think....Maybe Louisville. But anyway, they returned almost all of their starters this year and are mediocre at best. I say go for it.
  10. good post, Thanks for the first hand info. I hope your assessment (sp?) is accurate. Vilma is definitely one of my favorite alumns from the U. I would be happy with half of that kind of production.
  11. WHile this class is not going to be nearly as touted as last years class, I love the fact that we recruited politions that were in definited need. Throughout the season the glaring weakness on our team was the OL and DB and the coaches did not just ignore that weakness and go after high profile guys. I am satisfied with this class but I really hope Palmer sticks it out, I think he is definitely one of the key pieces to the puzzle.
  12. I have to agree here Nameless. I have lived in Cincinnati since March and this sight has been a godsend for me. Thank all of you guys for running such a smooth ship and keep up the AMAZING work.
  13. Let the Lion Roar my friend. Sorry but I hate the broncos. I was a montana not a Elway guy.
  14. I agree that this was a great game. I love to see duke lose. It warms my heart.
  15. I agree Nameless that WV did look extremely impressive against Georgia during the Sugar Bowl but that is one game. I don't have any doubt that WV will be good and is definitely going to win games next year I just can't believe that they are ranked that high. All i'm asking for is some consistency when judging teams by their conference.
  16. Go Lions....All I ask is for Marinelli to keep Rogers off the dope, keep everyone awake at team meetings, and please, for the love of god, don't trade harrington. I know it's a lot to ask but I can go thru another 5 years of rebuilding.
  17. Well as far as the playoffs go I really think that there are going to be some great games this weekend. I personally am pulling for Carolina and Pittsbugh. I always have to jump on some bandwagon by this time of the year because I am one of the unfortunate ones. That's right, I'm a Lions fan. It has been a long hard life but one day, oh yes, one day, I will be rooting for my team in january.
  18. So let me get this straight....Nebraska is placed at 18 because the B12 North has credibility issues. WHy the heck is West Virginia #1. Ever since Miami left that conference it has been a joke. The big east needs to stick to BB because it is what they do best. Sure WV may go undefeated next year but that isn't much better than a team like BOise State doing the same feat. WHy does west virginia deserve this kind of respect??? can anyone enlighten me?
  19. funny stuff! I like it. especially the Young/Bush stuff. damn flip floppers
  20. Hey guys just wanted to say again how great I think this board is. I was looking at some possible bowl games and was wondering if it would be possible for NU to face South Carolina in the Independence bowl in Shreveport. I know that they would have no problem selling out the game and I think it might make a good storyline to have a Callahan-Spurrier matchup given the recent lack of success that each of them had in the NFL. Any possibility of this??? P.S. What a performance by the O-line today, they really stepped up. Griff D O double G
  21. I agree with the improvement of the qb position. Taylor may not lighting up the stat columns but the real thing that matters is how many games has NU lost because of taylor's play...I can't think of any. Dailey on the other hand always had a way of making crucial mistakes that eventually cost us the game. taylor also takes control of the offense while dailey tried to BE the offense. Taylor wins.
  22. Zac has done an incredible job this year, a true bright spot for the huskers.
  23. thank you!!!! finally someone looking at the big picture
  24. it's things like this that make me question what the integrity of our fans. It is very easy to be a fan of a team when it is winning championships, but the true measure of a fan is this...Do you still support your team when they lose. I don't care if NU went 0-11. I would still give my cheer and support to the team. instead of trying to find things to boo and criticize like bandwagoners that get dissapointed when their team loses, maybe we should be patient and realize that we are the second youngest team in the country. IN THE COUNTRY!!! YOu people that are so fast to judge could never be a fan to any school with a losing record.. therefore you are not fans at all. Sorry, that is just my opinion
