  1. Maybe its just me.... buutttttt how do you say that when they allowed a team like Illinois to score with less then a minute and no time outs. TWO pass int. calls If you couldn't see a difference in how we played defense today, then you do not understand football at all. Like you know so little about the game you don't even have the ability to recognize different alignments, which means you dont know enough to call for any coaches heads. This loss is on offensive play calling and clock management. You drunk my man? Lunt was terrible passing today. Like really bad. Not to mention we got beat deep with 40 seconds on the clock in quarters coverage I believe. You do not let anyone get behind you in quarters coverage. Let's not act like the secondary made huge strides today. I question your football knowledge more than the dudes you're are scrutinizing.
  2. Pelini was fired because eichorst had an agenda and more importantly Bo did not make the changes in his coaching staff he needed to. If blowout losses are your main concern then start your coaching search now. I see us winning two games in conference this year. Going to be a rough ride, so buckle up. Good things will come though. Changes will probably start with Pearlman, eichorst and then the football program to soon follow. Pearlman took over after 2001 btw. look at the success of the universities main money making asset since...Perlman isn't the pres anymore... You're absolutely correct. He is just the Chancellor of the university.Every thing you have said is correct. Harv couldn't care less about the program as long as the stadium continues to be sold out. Isn't he retiring next summer? yeah. He is out in 2016.

  4. I don't entertain Shawn Eichorst conspiracy theories or Chicken Little hysteria. That makes your original post hypocritical then right? Strong response.
  5. Fielding a football team that didn't embarrass the state off and on the field? You're like modern media.
  6. Nope. Comparing it to Narduzzis comments about how MSU's schemes the quarter coverage regardless of years in the system and how Banker ran the "same" at OSU and ours looks like a .504 D. Ours looks nothing like the quarters coverage described in the article or by Narduzzi. Although called the same, there appears to be a difference in implementation..... #YesThis
  7. In deed it is. Need to open up the eyes of certain supporters. When I saw the BYU-Mich score scroll by I LOL'ed pretty hard and grinned. Why are you on a husker board? I asked the same question when the board turned against the coach who actually brought the program back to relevance. With that being said... Bo should have been fired. His heart wasn't in it the last season(although its easy to see why). I knew that, You knew that and your mother even knew that. She makes a mean lasagna btw. Back on topic.. I was strongly against Riley being hired. Although I understand him accepting the job. I would, You would and your mother would. That's BIG TIME money and an opportunity. However, he is not the guy to get it done here. I know that..., you know that.. ah heck you know how it goes.

  9. Ok. Ok. going into the BYU game we though of it as a "measuring stick" for the cornhuskers right? Yet the X-men stomp their teeth in and we cannot use that as a measuring stick of where we sit as a team. Or to evaluate our coaching staff's level of preparedness? Oh Lawd. My oh My.

  11. Could we say it comes down to coaching?
  12. We did blame papuchis though. So? Uh? Wasted post?
  13. participation awards for everyone!
  14. I'll take 65% over 33% any day my man. Numbers don't lie.
  15. Expectations are vastly different between what Pelini took over and what Riley has taken over. Callahan v.2 may end up proving Pelini the better developer of talent......even though that's the reputation Callahan v.2 brought to the table. After 3 games Riley is Callahan v.2? I am so glad I don't have the defeatist attiude that some of you display on an almost constant basis. Riley and Co. may or may not pan out, that remains to be seen but I just don't have the kind of energy it takes to be this negative this early in Riley's tenure at Nebraska. i guess when it's so close to the Callahan era it's easier to pick out.
  16. Bo beat the snot out of his first three opponents. 3-0 FTW.Western Michigan 47-24San Jose State 35-12New Mexico State 38-7Good thing Virginia Tech wasn't until game 4 that year.when was the last time we started the season 1-2 Fredrick?
  17. I concur, and this was my original concern when you fire not one but two coaches who win over 70 percent of their games. Neither Solich nor Pelini were going to get us where we want to be. Callahan wasn't an improvement over Solich (when you factor in Cosgrove), and it remains to be seen if Riley is an improvement over Pelini. Nobody is beating down Frank's door to get him back to coaching a Power 5 school, though. It'll be interesting to see if anyone wants Pelini in years to come. The problem is not firing coaches, but hiring coaches. Callahan was fired from the Raiders for running the team into the ground. Riley is a career mediocre coach. At least Bo was an up and coming DC, but NU has cash; get a top coach and a top staff. I'm still concerned about the staff Riley put together. Especially on defense. Banker's defenses didn't impress at OSU, and so far they aren't better here. Three games is a terrible sample size, but there are some concerns, especially how the secondary suddenly seems inept when they were... "not inept" before. Davie didn't suddenly turn into a merde cover guy, neither did Kalu. Not sure what to make of that, but it's scheme-related, definitely. I agree with the issue of hiring. Callahan was always a mistake, from Day 1 just about everyone knew it would end badly. Riley carries his own baggage, but seems more a "Nebraska Guy" than anyone since Solich. Does he have a run left in him at this stage of his career? A lot of that depends, I believe, on how married he is to his Assistants. If something isn't working, he's got to be ready to pull the trigger. Callahan wouldn't with Cosgrove, and it got him run out of town. Same's going to happen with Riley if his guys aren't cutting it and he won't make changes. As if he cares? NU stepped up and guaranteed him a golden parachute/retirement fund that OSU would never have offered. Hell they couldn't even afford the buyout to fire him. NU paid it and then offered him more. He turns around and grabs the guys OSU also wanted fired and guarantees them a retirement package. Does anyone really believe he's planning to stay past 5 years? So what sort of pressure is going to make him rollover on his best bud Banker? Harvey and the GingerKid are probably already writing up new pay raises with buyouts that would make Jerry Jones have a stroke. Best to just buckle up...gonna be a bumpy ride. Just let it all out. Just don't understand it. Trying real hard to be patient with the guy, but damn. I mean, situation : You're on the verge of being run outta town by the school you've dedicated a good chunk of your life to despite the lack of resources they provide. Only reason he's still there is because OSU doesn't think they can sell 3 million cupcakes at the campus bake sale to buy yer ass out. Along comes NU, tongue wagging and checkbook out, and says you're the guy, we got all the best toys, here's a blank check, just take us to the good times. So what do you do? You go drag all the guys who got you into that S#!T storm in the first place. Brilliant. Oh but he's "comfortable" with Banker and Cavanaugh, he can trust them. To do what? F^6k sh#t up and keep the hate focused on them rather than a "nice guy" like you? That's like chicks who hang around with fat girls to make themselves look hotter. I'm just not seeing or feeling it right now. Looking at the schedule I can envision us never seeing the other side of .500 all season. And I'm out of #@!*&$@ beer!!! It's game THREE! That's about 20 games too few to make any sort of confident qualitative and quantitative judgment on the hire. Hey you said let it out. Don't offer a shoulder to cry on then complain about the snot getting on your shirt. if only I could remember Bo's first three games.... Or better yet his record through his first 20. Looking a lot better than Riley right now.
  18. I think the talent s there. I think the competitive attitude is not here. You need a a competitive coach to develope that. A 508. Winning percentage doesn't excactly scream that sentiment.
  19. Our staff brought a team to miami on the road to play in a half-empty stadium, completely unprepared. Are you suprised? I kind of am. Borderline flabbergasted. Pardon my French.
  20. They have targeted the right side of the defense all day. Davie needs to step up or we are in for a world of hurt.
