  1. yes there are a lot of good bars in tempe around the stadium which is why ASU is one of the top party towns in the country. my favorite play of that game was not TF 67yd touch down run, but when the FL player got blasted on a kick off return by a walkon special teamer. i felt bad when i found out he seperated his hip but man the hits NU gave them just kept coming.
  2. just imagine the mismatch you would have with a linebacker trying to cover LJ. with his athletic ability he needs to be on the field somehow.
  3. hanc i read that you booked your trip on the other thread...good for you. I was at the Nebraska/Florida NC game and you are right nothing like it. ASU stadium holds 80,000 (est) and at least 60,000 were wearing red. it definitely was another home game. i was sitting on the florida side of the field and loved doing the gator chomp every time we sacked wuerfful. have fun and drink a beer for me
  4. i would love to go to the game and meet up with all of they people on this board that will be at the game. BUT i have to pull a 24hr shift on the 27th and on the 29th. at least i will be able to watch the game on tv. unless i can talk some of my coworkers into trading days with me then i might be able to get there. if i cant get down there somebody please toast a redbeer to the UM fans for me. i am now jealous and i feel depression setting in so i think i might just have to go and hang myself.......wait a minute i thought i was formerfan there for a minute. let the fun begin
  5. i dont know if the lb's or db's really did that well on CU's tight ends. i think a lot of it was due to the fact that we were getting pressure on Klatt and his throws were off alot of the time. i saw kloppenstien open alot but klatt over threw, under threw, threw behind ect but we did get an int once when he was throwing to a TE i need to get the game on DVD to watch it again and really see how the team played individually to get me worked up into a football frenzy right up to the game.
  6. hanc, relax dude the game is 3 weeks away and if you dont pace yourself you might not be able to give us your words of wisdom after NU beats UM. this game will settle nothing on the '97 issue. GBR beat UM
  7. formerfan never mind it is not even worth the time
  8. do bowl games count against eligibility? could he play in the game and then apply for a medical hardship sense he was out for the intire regular season medically? what would the difference be between herian playing only in the last game and octavian playing in the first game? i seriously doubt that matt will play. and i seriously doubt that he would be able to get into game shape before the 28th anyway. i am glad to hear that he is going to be able to practice, maybe it is going to be on the scout team to get the defense prepared for MU's tight ends. a nasty injury that i hope he has or will recover completly from Good for you Matt
  9. great post nameless lets hope the defense that showes up is the same defense that started the season off and the same one that played CU. and the offense that showed up the last 2 games. this game could come down to field position and then NU will take advantage of that with Koch.
  10. how can any michigan fan actually say that by us beating them will jump start our program on the road to a NC game. you are 7-4 just like us. maybe if we played you when your team was 10-1 or 11-0 then maybe. win or lose this game is going to be good for the Huskers and setting them up for next year. 3 more weeks of practice and another game before winter conditioning and spring ball plus having the game in the recruiting hotbed of Texas. if MU does beat NU it wont be by 20 points like some have stated on other threads. i see this game being decided by 7 points or less either way. good luck to you MU GBR----
  11. i forgot to add that the ORDER is not completely restored yet formerfan, hence the RESTORE the ORDER. once it is restored then the shirt will read ORDER RESTORED. but it will never be restored to your liking now will it.
  12. i like the Restore the Order slogan but will like the Order Restored better. and i will own both of them
  13. so bowl teams from each confrence is BIG 12-8 BIG 10-7
  14. dont forget about vandenbosch 10.5 sacks so far, and winstrom
  15. where is it being written that leon jackson is moving back to offense? i have seen it here but not in ljs or owh. it would be nice to see him in the kickreturn with lucky but unless there is something that we dont know out here wont there be to many rb's in the stable. he asked to go to defense this year, is he asking to go back or are the coaches sending him back
  16. i agree but you need to add in adams to the mix. if any of the three start to get double teamed then that is going to open up the middle for mckeon or bullocks on a saftey blitz. with 3plus weeks to prepare i think NU will be ready to play. look at how they did against ISU and CU after a week off, came out and played well offensivly against ISU and in all phases against CU. we are going to need to be clicking in all phases of the game and this could be a very exciting game. omahablue---nice to see comments like yours to the board. not someone with a chip on their shoulder just wanting to talk crap. good luck to you and i hope your inlaws get the last laugh though GBR RTO
  17. im not to worried about ross, lucky and glenn because with the time to workout before the game that gives 3 more weeks of practice for slausen, murtha, patrick to get it together with mann and koch. yes the running game has been weak this year but you better not concentrate on just the pass because NU might just come out and ram it right up your arsh and then what will UM do. anyway how many of the 11 are going to bowls this year. good luck to you UM i hope your offensive line is up to the task for henne sake or he might look like klatt did on saturday walking off of the field ten minutes after he got hit. no cheap shots just good hard tackling. GBR RTO
  18. so what you are saying is that your team was lucky to win 3 games and had could of very easily lost them also. so you should be thankful that your team is even bowl eligable. then you get your panties in a twist when someone else bags on your coach who you say is "ridiculously conservative". well if you want to throw that out there then NU should have one the game because Coz became "ridiculously conservative" when NU had the lead against OU and TT for going with a 3 man rush when NU had the lead. NU lost the games because they lost, UM lost the games because they lost. are you still crying over the "kicked ball" game and having to share the title in 97. your team must have blown out everyone that year even the bowl game. wait you beat WSU by less then a touchdown with WSU driving and time disapears off of the clock after Leaf spikes the ball and what has Leaf done in the pros since.......nothing NU beats, routes, spanks, kills (insert any word you want here) Tenn. and Payton Manning. Thier own coach even says after the game that NU was the best team that his team had played and that NU was getting his vote. you have to admit that NU's victory over Tenn was more impressive then UM's over WSU. dont blame us that you had to share the NC. blame those in charge of the Wac-10 and the Big 10 (11). i wish i could count but that is another story for later. yes having a undisputed NC would be nice but if you had to choose which one would you rather have the Coaches Poll NC or the AP NC? i know what you would want.....the AP vote, me i have to say would rather have the Coaches vote. what the hell do sports writers know in the first place most of them never played the game. at least the coaches have been there and done that. get a grip your qb is going to come out of the game black and blue not maize and blue. you better call, write, email or send smoke signals to him and warn him of the wall of terror that is going to hit him in less then a month. Carricker, Smith, Adams, Moore, and Turner. not counting McKeon, Ruud, and Bullocks on the blitzes. good luck to you and i look forward to your rantings
  19. wonder who recruited him the most. we got a commit from OL from FL on friday named Cruz. wonder if blake had a hand in recruiting both.
  20. thanks fl, i dont know what i was thinking i had just read it on omaha.com, duh i think that henne will come out of the game black and blue not maize and blue. you know you cant spell scum with out CU or UM. dont get offended anybody just some fun filled other team bashing. GBR RTO
  21. benard......i think you gave a snowball a better chance in hell then you gave NU against sCUm. so tell us what are NU's chances against UM? should we not even watch the game let alone go to the game. yes UM looks tough to beat on paper but guess what, you have to play the game. chuckd you hit the nail on the head. we were lucky to catch 7 teams on their worst day. and the 4 loses we did have we must have played our best game along with the other team playing their best game also. i think that i will watch the game anyway, root for the huskers, and support the team as much as i can before during and after win or lose. GBR RTO
  22. what day is the alamo bowl on anyway. dec 31???? i thought that NU would be going to the holiday because i thought oregon would get an at large bid but someone always gets screwed. i hope to get to SA to go to the game..... bring on michigan and lets get it going LETS GO HUSKERS.......LETS GO HUSKERS.......LETS GO HUSKERS
  23. how do you think Vince Lombardi would have done with an option qb? i am not old enough to remember his teams but my father told me that ran a smash mouth run the ball offense and dared anyone to stop it. but that was back in the days when a 250 lineman was a monster. now you have running backs that weigh that much and linemen that are 350 or more. remember FS played as a fullback and didnt weigh more than 170 lbs so what am i getting at with this? i dont know. maybe that the offenses are evolving with the size of the players. I loved the days when Gill would take the snap, pivot and wait a second while the guard would pull and lead the way down the line then gill would follow or pitch the ball to rozier. but i also like seeing 4 wideouts, and a one back set, taylor faking to ross to the left and going right on a naked bootleg and throwing to swift who is wide open for a 30 yard gain. give me a good passing attack and a solid running game "balanced offense" and i will be happy and NU will win NC's again. GBR RTO
