  1. I liked Frost's hire with Joseph and Whipple. Really didn't like his hire of Riola and Offensive Line continues to dissapoint.
  2. If he wasn't at Illinois, another name to the list should be Bret Bielema. Look, I don't like the guy, I can't stand him, but he knows how to coach in the Big Ten.
  3. Oh absolutely I think they could. For one, he's sort of a small town type of guy, I don't think he liked the big city of Seattle and I don't think he regresses things at Nebraska. First year is a wash year, so maybe he goes 4-8, 5-7, but I think with him you'd see actual improvement and the team would start winning again. He's done it at Boise and Washington. Very impressive resume. He doesn't like recruiting, or at least he doesn't like the ruthlessness that recruiting has begun, so keep Joseph on staff to be the head recruiter. All Petersen has to do is focus on football.
  4. Don't know about Harsin, but what about Malzahn? Gary Patterson would be interesting but I feel like he got burnt out at TCU and started to lose his step. How do you build a program like he did and suddenly have a 3-5 season and have the university agree to let you go?
  5. Football is a game of two halves. And they both are brutal to watch.
  6. Another thought, back up the money truck to Madison and pay every single Wisconsin coach double what they are making now to do the same thing in Lincoln.
  7. Frost's stuff was fun to watch and he too came from a G5 school. But I agree, both Stoops and Petersen are likely done, although between the two I could see Petersen trying it one more time. He seems like he would fit Nebraska perfectly.
  8. Although I wasn't sure if Nebraska would get to 7 wins this year, I was hopeful and I certainly would've figured one of those 7 wins was to Northwestern.
  9. The wild thing is, on paper Frost was a grand slam hire. He should've worked out and it's worrisome that he didn't. Our next step is to go after an established elite coach, or at least an established successful coach who has coached in the Big Ten.
  10. Chris Petersen. Bob Stoops. Those are your swing for the fences hires. Talk to them and see if you can get either of them. If not, who the hell knows these days. On paper Frost was a grand slam hire.
  11. I supported it because he made the changes and the hope was there. It was worth the gamble in my opinion. A gamble that now surely seems lost, but I think it was Alberts move to show that when the time came to hire a new coach he could show them that he did give the previous guy time and opportunity to fix things. If it worked out, great! If it didn't, well, at least Alberts gave the coach time and opportunity. Retaining Frost was a longterm play for NU.
  12. Nebraska is going to have to pay very big for their next coach if they want to get a big name coach. I think Nebraska has done a decent job of showing patience with Frost, but everyone will say, "Frost only got that amount of time because of who he is." Meaning the next coach is going to have to look at this and be confident they can turn this thing around in 4 years or less. But our expectations are no longer that of what they were when we hired Callahan. We will take a bowl appearance within the first two years. By year 3 our expectations may be 7 wins. That should be attainable, especially with NIL. Unlike Pelini and maybe even Riley, I don't know if you are going to get a lot of locker room push back with a new staff. I just don't feel like there is this big connection in the locker room with Frost, maybe the writing of this was on the wall when we lost a ton of skilled players over the years.
  13. GoFund Me should be set up to pay for all the fans who spent all that money to go to Ireland to support this. I have a headache just imagining the hours they will spend on a plane after that fiasco.
  14. That onside kick and then going on to lose yet another one possession game is all that is needed to sway those who were on the fence and still in Frost's corner. I wanted Frost to work, I was fine with keeping him, but knew that this year was his make it or break it year and he was given ample amount of time to get things going. But it has been the same results over and over. It isn't going to change and that is what makes this season so painful. Sure there is a lot left, and technically yes we could win 6 or 7 games still to get to a bowl game, but since history continues to repeat itself, I don't see that happening. And even if it does, there will need to be enormous improvement to show he has become better as a coach because that onside kick is going to loom all year. Of course it is going to take enormous imrpovement just to get to 6 wins. This entire team looks smaller and weaker compared to some of the teams of previous years. We got bullied by Northwestern.
  15. Yeah I would say so. I was hopeful of that guy when Frost brought him, but he really hasn't done all that much. Last year's defense was alright, seemed physical at times, but it was the offense that continually let that unit down. But this year, the defense seems to have taken a huge step back. They look more like a Big12 type defense than a Big Ten type defense. These backward steps are inexcusable when your 5 years into your build. I was completely unimpressed by the entire defense. I think if we make a mid-season change, it is helpful that we have a guy like Whipple on staff, who has a history of being a head coach. I like the idea of him just taking over the entire offense and Joseph can take the CEO role, continue to recruit, and continue to try and keep this ship afloat behind the scenes. Then when hiring, Joseph should be a top candidate and if he doesn't get the head coaching job, he should most certainly still be on staff.
  16. Unique thing here would be, he can just be the CEO and recruit. Besides Defense, Whipple should be able to navigate the offense the rest of the year.
  17. NIL, transferring, realignment has seriously ruined a lot of what made college football great. So let’s go disappear for a bit and come back.
  18. This program desperately needs to just let apathy take over. Stop fighting it. Let it take over. Rebuild and come back in 10 years.
  19. I hope all NIL checks get canceled. Go spend that money on offensive linemen and defensive linemen.
  20. The only people who showed heart today was the thousands of Nebraska fans who spent the ridiculous amount of money and time to go to Ireland and support this program. Those are the true Cornhuskers. Thank you Nebraska fans for continuing to be there. Nebraska fans are literally the only reason we are where we are now. If not for this fan base we wouldn’t be in the Big Ten as NU wouldn’t of have the brand and following to be attractive.

  22. They are going to make us live through this again..
