  1. Our identity used to be toughness, physicality. How far we have fallen.
  2. Fyfe is looking good. I suspected that he may be able to throw the short routes better than TA. Could the drops be partially because TA throws so hard? Definitely could be No it's because Fyfe is better I wouldn't say better, he throws the pass with finesse rather than trying to rocket it into coverage like TA does. So far Fyfe has a better field of vision than TA and throws catchable balls. I agree with this. That little dump off screen to Newby was nice to see for once.
  3. Re-read post #412. You're good with those results? Give me a break.
  4. We need to force a turnover. Can we do that today?
  5. Do our DB's have eyes in the back of their heads? Is that why they never turn around?
  6. The curse ends when we invite Solich back for a thank you celebration This needs to be put into order ASAP. Guy bled Red for years and will always be a Husker IMO.
  7. You know, since Riley was hired I was a firm believer that the Jekyll & Hyde BS was going to end and that has not been the case this season.
  8. NICE audible by Fyfe. How often do we see that?
  9. Could our O-Line be any worse? Not Ryker's fault but he should have wisely fell on top of the ball.
  10. Speaking of alternates we should wear these jersey's for a game. I like them a lot. Would prefer two stripes on the jerseys instead of three but I love the block N on the sides... reminds me of the 80's. Jersey seems like a crossover of the 70's and 80's jerseys. Anything that makes us look less like Wisconsin but without changing a lot
  11. With Tommy out, do you guys think Riley and staff are going to "use the injury" as a way to experiment with Fyfe from here on out to see how he does? From a coach's perspective, I don't see how they're NOT disappointed with TA's performance thus far. I think Tommy has done some good things but he still makes terrible decisions that make me close my eyes hoping the worst doesn't happen. I fear with him being out with turf toe, he may not see the field until a bowl if we somehow scratch our way through and even then, I don't see how he gets his starting job back because that would mean Fyfe led the boys to 3 more victories. I'm excited to see what Fyfe can bring to the table but I think it is going to be tough to judge him on this Saturday alone. It looks like it is going to be a muggy game and we may want to keep things vanilla but don't be surprised if the offense somehow starts to look like a well oiled machine with the backup in there. I would not set expectations high but as always, expect the unexpected. Remember Joe Ganz?
  12. If Ryker lights it up and then has a strong hold on the job, I'd say we'd still want to keep Tommy on the field whether as a run threat or maybe he can make the same move Braxton Miller did. He's tearing it up at tOSU. Okay, not really. They don't get the ball to him enough but when they do, he is clutch.
  13. What if we win the remainder of our games (not likely) and of course ruin both MSU and Iowa's seasons? Not to mention, it'd probably spark the so called rivalry with Iowa and get a little more serious. We'd probably be the best 7-5 team in the country and go to a pretty good bowl to finish 8-5. I'd call that an excellent recovery. Would that make you and most Husker fans happy? Of course, none of this will happen unless we magically find a run game or Fyfe/Armstrong play lights out in these last 4 games.
  14. Let's all remember BC when Keller came in. Too much hype and then Ganz comes off the bench and starts lighting up the Big XII. Now, Joe was a backup and he shined and proved his worth. This is what I mean by battle tested.
  15. From what I've heard and seen of Bush it looks like he needed to work on his throwing a bit. He lacked touch on a lot of his passes however, he is very shifty and can run as good as Tommy can. Fyfe throws very accurately and is quite elusive (not fast) but he can move the pocket and scramble for a 10 yard gain if needed. Darlington has more zip on his passes definitely and throws on the run real well. You really don't know how good someone is until they're battle tested. Purdue would be a good opponent to use Fyfe without changing much and if he doesn't produce, don't be afraid to try Darlington or Bush for a series or two. That is what I would enjoy seeing the coaches do but something tells me Fyfe is going to get the nod.
  16. Fyfe throws a very tight spiral and is very accurate. Don't be surprised to see him lead a handful of scoring drives. Him having a great game would be a huge confidence boost for the offense heading into the game against Sparty.
  17. At the end of the day, Eichorst screams Pederson and Riley screams Callahan. There is only one person I can point my finger at and that's HP.
  18. I just feel bad for the players. Riley had a shot to hire an excellent staff. He's been in the business long enough to have connections. What he had at Oregon State, worked for Oregon State. Mike needs to take a real long look in the mirror and decide it's either him or them. There are coaches out there that will go out and find the best assistants possible. I think he at least could consider staff changes otherwise if it's the same result in year 2, he's a goner.
