  1. No i wasnt thinking like that, if she was from nebraska she might be swayed back there but if shes from a place alot warmer it would be a hard sell.
  2. Cy is great he’s been around forever. Hope the cyclones keep it rolling this year.
  3. I just dont see this being a possibility. If that was the point then eincorst didnt need to be shown the door if that was the long term plan. I do think Riley was brought here to calm things down but i just cant see us hiring a guy for only a few years. And if that was the case then why a contract extension, it just seems like a waste of money. And if they want to waste some money they could always just give it to me. I sure could use a new car.
  4. I hear frost drives a pickup and likes to hunt pheasant........better pheasant hunting weather in nebraska i hear.
  5. Living in iowa i guess my family were diehard hawkeye fans but i was to young to understand. When one year my mom remaired and my step dad was from Grand Island. That was 1985...went to my step grandparents house over the years and wondered what the yelling was all about at the tvs during football games. We all had cornhusker gear at some time or another but i specifically remembering my brother getting a huricanes coat on year. Around highschool i kinda fell off even though those were right after the National Champ years. I still followed but never really watched...then i meet my wife. She was a great girl and wanted me to meet her parents after a few dates so i agreed. Over there house on a sunday just sitting around and talking when it came up about college football. Low and behold her family were diehard cyclone fans and he promptly asked me what team i root for. Well i just simply said i was a nebraska fan to which he replied...........GET OUT. He was kidding of course but it was at that moment 15 years ago that i became a fan again. I have loved nebraska football and i have loved what it stood for because i know that the people of nebraska are hard working blue collar people. I remember reading about the pillars on the stadium and how much that reminded me on how i look at my life. It was during the time after the championships while watching football with my father in law that rekindled on what it ment to be apart of something bigger than myself. We would watch the games together on saturdays, he even took me to my first College football game in ames. Nebraska Vs Ia State in which Ia State promptly beat us and i was made fun of the whole way back to the car. We would talk about college ball all the time, what was going on what prospects looked good he truly brought the passion for college football back to me. Sadly he passed away from cancer two years ago. It breaks my heart that he didnt get to see the cyclones do what there doing this year. I root for them on saturdays in his honor. I mostly miss just having some one to banter with about college ball with, I wonder how he would think about our coaching changes. He would call me sometimes during a nebraska game and my mother in law said he would sometimes even watch them play switching back and forth from ISU to Nebrask. And you can bet me and my daughters were rooting our butts off last saturday in his honor. I took my wife and kids to the nebraska spring game this year in which they were in awe of the stadium and the chants. I had to explain to them the go big red chant, the tunnel walk, the baloons, they just loved it. Its times like this as i write this that i get mad that i get so wrapped up in winning when sometimes the experience is special enough. My kids didnt care who won that game, they were with there dad and mom in this larger than life place full of red and people cheering and clapping. Thats what it means and im sorry i forget that sometimes.
  6. See what you all heard and read was this. But what moos really was doing is looking at florida and doing this.
  7. I dont know, but that big 10 title game was pretty brutal against wisconson.
  8. LOL And i wanted to make sure that when i brought this up in a scott frost thread i wanted to be clear that it was really only in relation to what scott frost could do here. I think even if he stunk and did some 7-5 and 8-4s he would be given plenty of time to turn the ship around because he is not like bo but alot like Tom Osborne and i think that is what alot of us are looking for.
  9. Going to ask a serious question and im sure its been covered before but since were here now ill ask it again. Given the fact that Bo had quite a few 9 and 10 win seasons would we of kept him around if he not only didnt have a bad attitude on the sidelines and wasnt an debacle with the whole nebraska fans thing and the offered other jobs thing...etc etc. Would you of wanted to keep him around. Because even though we werent awesome we did have a couple big 12 title appearances and a few Big 12 north division titles on that also. Because people are on here saying we would be looking for a new coach in 3 years like we are now if we had that kind of record because i honestly just dont see it. I think frost comes here, he builds a respectable program both on and off the field. I would think we would give him all the time in the world.
  10. Yea, the board should strictly be used from now till the end of the season to talk about possible future coaches. There is no point to the rest of the season because again we are playing for nothing at this point. Infact maybe losing might be fun because we can set new all time lows to build off of.
  11. I dont think there was any discussion about him not being able to bring his entire staff over. But honestly If Matt Campbell wants to stay at ISU and make something special then that makes sense because thats a program in a big conference. But deciding to stay in a lower tier program instead of taking any power 5 job when they come knocking just doesnt make any sense. And there is this one final thing and this is the kicker.....................................if he had every intention of staying at UCF he would flat out say in any of the press converences that he has been in that he is not interested in any other job other than the one he has, just like mike leach did.
  12. If we offer it will be good but i have a feeling if he wants to come here it wont only be about money. His entire staff are midwest guys, his parents are here. Lots of reasons for him to come back. Making 4 or 5 million per year and being in your home state at your alma mater is probably worth its own weight in gold if thats what he wants. Also he is recently married and has a baby on the way. To me these are all very good reasons to plant some roots down somewhere and stick around for the long haul. Raising a family in florida vs nebraska are two way different things. But there are alot of stories running around as to where he wants to go or what move he wants to make. As much as it sucks all we can to is just endure and hope he truly wants to come back here. If he doesnt now then i dont think he ever will and we will need to just move on.
  13. It was just talks this morning but apparently it official from ESPN.  McElwain is out at florida.

  14. I hope we didnt just mess this up by not firing him lastnight.
  15. Yep, people happy right now are exactly why we have Mike Riley as a coach.
  16. Yea cant wait to strut into work.....................Yea did you see that big husker win this weekend. Purdue, P U R D U E man, they gave us a tough one but we came back....one of the elites baby. NEBRASKAS BACK BABY.....................WERE BACK
  17. Yea, you guys are celebrating a win over g dam purdue like we just went pound for pound against a big 10 elite team for the West title and fought back AGAINST PURDUE. This is what apathy looks like.
  18. Now cummon guys dont get hurt...i need you to play well next week after we fire riley.
