  1. This is another example at how a good man and a bad man think differently. Remember when at a McCain stump someone yelled "can't trust him because he's an arab" about Obama and he stopped and said, "no, he's a good family man, we just disagree politically". Can you ever, ever imagine Trump not using that moment to fan the flames? Guess it says a lot when Drumpf refers to McCain as a coward due to his POW status. He's an embarrassment, and so are the moths that follow him and recite his rhetoric. I mentioned Biden yesterday. What I wouldn't give for McCain to be the Republican nominee right now... that sounds like a dream come true. Except he's 79 . Right? A good man. I'd take either. I can't wait to see who is selected as VP running mates.

  3. I think the same - I don't doubt something horrible happened, but I do want to hear from the police. I'm hung up on how calm the lady is filming her dying boyfriend so politely, and how the cop is just standing there watching him die w/his gun drawn. Granted it's obvious at that time you don't want to act crazy and get the police more engaged, but my first instinct wouldn't be to get it on camera. I just can't imagine getting through that and then holding press conferences rallying folks and etc and keeping it together. She's a strong woman for sure.
  4. JJ I admire your openness man, you're one of few I know (not just on this board) who is open eyed about the world and having your perception changed through conversation or observation (and this isn't just an Obama/politics thing). Takes a big man to admit that - you give me some hope that the world isn't falling apart!!
  5. You're right. He's totally a victim. Poor guy. Can't believe how much he's bullied ... oh wait ....
  6. Such as secret service members writing about their personal accounts with them? I'm not sure if you've read those or not, but if not, you need to. One (maybe more) even wrote a book about what he saw and heard during the Clinton presidency, and it paints an ugly picture. For all the people who call Trump the egomaniac and the one who lacks temperament (which I disagree with personally, but whatever) between the two, Hillary is WAY worse than anyone would care to believe... Hell to Pay: The unfolding story of Hillary Rodham Clinton by Barbara Olson. The author was on one of the planes that crashed into the WTC on 9/11 You know this is the real reason 911 happened right? Hillary & Bill didn't like what she wrote and the liberal media covered the whole thing up. (kidding of course, but I can't believe that hasn't been a headline). Some whackos did propose this Not surprised at all.
  7. Can you prove this is true? Can you prove it's not? The "Proving Non-Existence" fallacy. That's swell. Sorry, didn't have time to respond and go hunt down proof, and still don't. Gonna have to pass on that one, and you all can do your own due diligence to learn this yourself. It was apparently the first time you've heard it, so at least now it's out there. Donald Trump killed six hookers with his bare hands. I'm going to have to pass on giving proof. You can do your own due diligence to learn this yourself. This may be the first time you're hearing of it, but at least it's out there. I heard that it was 6 hookers and 4 maids from his hotels. and I heard that he didn't pay them. Declared that he forgot his wallet, then drove away in his limo and tweeted, "I hire amazing, people at my incredible hotel, will do anything for the boss - fantastic".
  8. Bad ex of the exact attitude that has us where we are today as a nation. Horrible.

  10. I agree - and it's a game. This one has no interest just like the RB from Mississippi had no interest in anything other than building his twitter fan base. If Geb or Key asks for attention to someone I feel it's pretty legit and will help (they've got skin in the game, and are targeted with their requests), when others stoke the fire it's to make us look silly and to make egos grow. Kid's trying to get to 10k followers - he doesn't try to hide that on his Twitter. Wish we Neb fans weren't such suckers. Does anyone really care about "giving" a follow to someone on twitter? What's the down side of being one of these "suckers"? Guess I just don't like to have the good people of NE be the butt of anybody's joke, much less an 18 year old kid. I don't care about the follow thing at all personally, I'm puzzled by how much it means to kids today. So I guess it comes down to pride for me, and not being used for what I consider to be one of the greatest traits of of our fan base.

  12. It's too late. If we really Juanted him it would have taken more than Juan interaction or visit. He's Juan-gone.

  14. At that point he'll just be a twenty-something Juannabe.
  15. Juander if he's better in zone or Juan on Juan?
  16. I do Juan-der what he could do, if we gave him just Juan chance.
  17. I think it's a "hey watch this, their fans are nuts - you'll get 1k responses in an hour" thing.
  18. I'm starting to feel a little used ...
  19. I will agree with you that looking at a kids offer list isn't probably the best indicator of whether we should pursue, but I guess I do think the recruiting list as one gets into their Sr. year is often indicative of skill set and overall potential a great deal of the time. If more than one program views films, visits and etc and puts value on a kid then there's usually something there. Solid athletes have proven that the programs will come to NE to view them (I'm thinking Allen and Jurgens most recently). I think where we win with instate recruits, and it will take consistency and time (this staff is doing it right - establishing relationships with coaching staff through the state and etc) is to identify coachable kids early. To find diamonds in the rough that don't stand out on film to other teams, but are built well, have speed etc (Mapiue is an excellent example). Getting commitments as Juniors with these kids is great. The beauty of our program is 99% of kids raised in NE have dreamt about playing in Lincoln. Can you help me out with why you think a 3 star athlete in OH has a better chance with a strong college than a 3 star NE kid?
  20. This seems like a reasonable statement on its face, but it's very misguided about how recruiting at NU needs to work. Nebraska HAS to be a program that can identify and develop potential. Going after "championship caliber" recruits means trying to beat Alabama, OSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, et al. at their own game. And that's just not going to happen consistently. How many of those "championship caliber" guys are even identifiable in high school? Picking up a 3 star California kid is not necessarily better than picking up a 2 star NE native who's got potential to grow. They've all got potential to grow ... starting with more talent doesn't hurt. Don't get me wrong, I hope we get some additional in state guys lined up, but you'd be hard pressed to defend to me how a kid getting offers from SDSU, Minn and etc is somebody we should be hot on. On the flip side, the top tier instate recruits being pursued by other similar caliper programs have committed to UNL in the last year (Allen, Maypeiu, Bando) I think we're on the right track.
  21. Sorry, I should have provided more context. There have been multiple reports by members of the secret service that being assigned to Hillary was the worst assignment you could get, that she talked down and cussed out many officers, and hence none of them enjoyed working around her. Ronald Kessler is one of those agents that served in Bill's tenure and had regular interactions with both Clintons. I agree that women have had to break through glass ceilings, but the point is that there seem to be more stories about Hillary's diva-like behavior than other Democratic or GOP female politicians. As for name calling, I think I've seen a fair share of Trump-bashing on here including some calling him an a*s, douche, etc. My point was not to focus on the names used but rather how the candidates are perceived by those they work with or around. As for the "who let the dogs out" video, that is just plain funny, no matter your political beliefs. She actually barked like a dog at one of her campaign stops. http://www.thedailysheeple.com/what-the-secret-service-has-to-say-about-hillary-clinton_102015 http://nypost.com/2015/10/02/secret-service-agents-hillary-is-a-nightmare-to-work-with/ http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/secret-service-agent-says-good/ http://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/282330-ex-secret-service-agent-clinton-occasionally-violent And the bigger point is - perception of women in leadership or a powerful position no matter the source (body guards, co workers, employees etc) is skewed to the negative for the same traits that are perceived as strong and positive for men.
  22. Yup - all sounds familiar. Too familiar sadly, we've all (women) been on the receiving end of that. While it may be true - you take the same content, have it read by a man and he's perceived as "strong, dominant, opinionated, a leader". A woman says it, and she's a b*tch. There's actually an article/study looking at communications and perception between sexes that I may have to go looking for to post here. It's interesting, all that we've known and felt for years actually quantified.
