  1. KInda dumb, but I think I can answer my own question now. From what I can find is he didn't go to many camps during his junior year, last year his team ran the ball a lot and because of this he got very little attention. He only had about 300 yards receiiving and like 15 cathces. His team was also pretty bad. In the three articles you posted the numbers were much better. The Omaha World Herald said he had 58 catches, 920 yards, and 12 tds. The Lincoln Journal Star said 56 catches, 927 yards, and 12 tds. The El Paso Times said 52 catches, 917 yards, and 12 tds. Overlooking their journalistic inconsistency, why would you throw out numbers far below those totals? the 15 catches for 300 yards was for his junior year, and the 52-58 catches for 900-930 yards was for his senior year. There was a coaching philosophy change, which is why there is a difference. I dont know if any of you watched any of florida states games but this is the guy im thinking of when i envision Henry.... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profi...playerId=169010 He was a on scout and on rivals in the 2004 class, he redshirted but really didnt put on a whole lot of weight, so who knows... if Henry can pick up the offense, at least a few play sets to get him involved he could be a force in the redzone. Much like Carr was.
  2. You think LJax is out of the mix of receivers with our recent addition? I guess we will have to see come the spring game. I think this offseason he will solidify a position on the team, but where? the guy has talent, anyone who watched his film knows that.... he was my biggest disappointment this year to be honest, i was pumped for this kid.. still am.
  3. I really wish Green woulda came in one of these last couple weekends, it has been unseasonably warm in Nebraska and that plays a role in a lot of these coastal kids decisions i think. I REALLY REALLY want to see Henry wearing a Husker uniform next year, i think this kid has the (uncoachable)intangibles(size/athleticism) of a scary reciever..... i want this guy about as much as i wanted Ausberry.

    CONGDON

The sky will also be blue… and the field will be green. I really don’t think Glenn is going to surprise a lot of people, well knowledgeable husker fans anyways. I think most of us here understand that he is already a force to be reckoned with, and with a better line and Ross outta there he will show that. I cant wait til next year…. wooo
  5. I was gonna start a thread on Zac Taylor and his NFL potential before the alamo bowl but didnt wanna get off track before the big game. He had a solid year this year, but next year is gonna be awesome. He WILL have a better Offensive line, and we lose nobody as far as recievers go, only gain some studs. Cory Ross has some big shoes that need to be filled despite his shorter stature though, he picked up a lot of pass rushers.... i'm confident our young rb's will step up, BJAX will be healthier too. You add it all up, i dont see how Zac Taylor (Barring injury) and our RBs wont have a killer senior year, they will feed of one anothers success. How awesome will it be to see a Nebraska QB playing on sundays, in the QB position? And im sure when they do starting lineups in those NFL games Zac will be proud to say from THE university of Nebraska.
  6. USF would be the Bulls UCF would be the knights Either way i find it tough to believe he would end up at either. I think he ends up at Miami, it seems this kid wants to be in Florida.
  7. not necessarily terrified, but both will be tough. Hopefully V. Young and L. White enter the draft after their strong showings tonight.... that would make me feel a little better about playing them.
  8. well im sure he has had enough people tell him that so he believes it. Everything is settled on the field and i think that if these teams played 100 games it would be pretty close to a 50/50 split. But really USC probably is a better TEAM yes (at least offensively in my opinion), but Invincible Young is pretty tough to stop and he played like a man posessed tonight.
  9. After seeing this game i am starting to think that Young might wanna jet for the NFL. Along White from USC. Hopefully this will help us out next year if this is the case.
  10. This could be some of the worst commentary work i have ever heard, i am close to just muting this game. (Sorry just venting, wondering if anyone else is finding this unbearable to listen to)
  11. How long have we had an offer on the table for him? having a mobile quarterback really makes the opposing D's job a bit tougher, and its something that i would like to see. But only if he is an efficient passer, thats the QB's job first and foremost.
  12. BLAH BLAH BLAH..... I knew this would happen. NO respect. What will it take. I suppose next year we will beat USC because its their rebuilding year. Any how many games will we play where the weather will be so cold we cant throw and catch the ball? By December our season is pretty much wrapped up. And again, whats saying we wont be able to run? i mean if we can do both, we will do both... if it is too cold to pass in MAYBE 1 or 2 games in the season we will do what it takes to win. There are plenty of coastal and southern teams that travel to cold places late in their seasons, maybe they should make the switch to dominant running gameplan. Average High/Lows in Lincoln Nebraska Aug 63.7°F 87.1°F Sept 53.2°F 78.8°F Oct 40.4°F 66.5°F Nov 27.0°F 49.1°F Dec 16.2°F 36.8°F idiots...
  13. I was thinking their logo had a Kangaroo on it. I bet a lot of people ask what a Cornhusker is too. less that 48 hours to go! GOOOOOO BIGGGGGG REDDDDDDDDD
  14. Mckeon. At the start of the season i didn't really know what to expect from him, he didn't really look that big out there, and i didn't think he was fast either... but he has game speed, and at times seemed like he was everywhere. (Maybe because he was always the first to come congratulate/chest bump/head but/ass slap the guy on the field who made the play) Which is the other reason this guy was huge for our Defense, i think his attitude and enthusiasm would rub off on our whole D.
  15. in response to formerfan, i think that we were in a situation 2 years ago where we had to take what we could get at QB because we had "nothing" fit for this offense and Callahan was hired with very little time to go after the big guns. I think the two guys he picked up last year are probably worth the scholarships they were offered. And i am pretty sure there will be offers on the table to guys that they TRUELY want this year. If you get the opportunity to sign one great, if not, then we wait til next year and pick up a blue chip qb. I personally dont think we will sign one, the advantage with Freeman was that he would be here in january and for spring practice, thats the main reason i was excited for him. We will see how it pans out, i have faith that this staff that they can weigh out the needs of the team.
  16. I dont think that we tell any more QBs this ("you are my one and only..."), the recruiting cycle is too short and too uncertain to do it anymore, and i think we should have learned our lesson now. I think this will really help our chances to land someone big time next year. I doubt that we see any other QB's in this class however, our coaches have some high standards i believe and they wont take anyone unless they really want them.... (And like i said in the freeman thread, if Prince could pull something out of his ass and get a guy that was a solid commit to a program since this summer in 10 days, our guys should be able to do the same)
  17. So there any QBs out there in this class that our guys go after? do we fill out the class as planned now? I mean you see a lot of commiteds out there but thats what Freeman was after all, maybe Callahan can be some other guys mentor and do a 10 day recruiting endeavor.
  18. Penn State @ Michigan on at 8 pm central.... 15 minutes
  19. All you guys that havn't had a chance to see Michigan play yet, they are on ESPN Classic 2 times today. right now, and later on this evening. They are playing instant classics from this year, so it might give you an idea of some of the things we might see in our bowl game.
  20. And would you mind telling me how Norv Turner is doing there now. Hmm, perhaps everything doesn't revolve around the coach, maybe players and attitudes have something to do with it Yeah, if billy c could cause that much damage in Oakland in that short of time, just imagine what NU will look like when he is gone. No.... you better stop... that is too funny. You had to be blind to see what was happening prior to the coaching change, and you have to be blind to see that the program is turning a corner now. i hope you are willing to eat words. Because i know i am if you are indeed correct, Nostradamus.
  21. It appears that he has no interest in the sooners at all anymore. looking at Rivals he has Texas Tech and Mizzou as high interest and nebraska at medium, and scout has him with medium interest in Mizzou, Colorado and Nebraska. I find it hard to believe he even has interest in colorado, so i think that scout may not be completely accurate. Does anyone have any insight/speculation as to where he might be leaning now? i think this would be a good get for our staff, a big play guy would help our offense out a lot. Much like i am hoping herian will help us out next year... its hard keep tabs on so many talented recievers. the future is looking bright
  22. Kinda why i was thinking russell may be a good project. But i think the lack of scholarships may be the the problem, no room for "projects". And i doubt he will be willing to greyshirt or walk-on. I think Ausberry was the guy i wanted to get the most this year....oh well, get a great o-line, great QB and great running game and it will make the recievers look a lot better.
  23. Cruz Barrett. an OL prospect outta florida. http://nebraska.rivals.com/viewprospect.as...=1&pr_key=35871 ps. just noticed at the end of the Cruz Barrett thread it has news of this... feel free to delete this thread. sorry just got excited when i checked out rivals.
  24. I don't know whether to be excited or disappointed i guess. I was more excited seeing his videos last year than luckys, but the needs of the team, and desire for safetys made me ok with the move to D. He seems like one of those guys that i would just want to get the ball to any way possible, and i imagined both him and Bowman seeing some possible WR time... although i knew the chances of that werent good. Who knows though, i trust these coaches will get the most out of this kid one way or the other. Based on what we saw after bye weeks this year i cant imagine how much better this team will get during the offseason.
  25. Carriker is good, i agree, but another year will definitely help his draft status. When you look at his stats they arent that incredible... he didnt get double teamed much, the opposing offenses seemed more worried about our interior. But stats arent the whole story, i know...watching him you see how he disrupts... i think another year will do him wonders because this was kinda his first BIG year since he wasnt injured. I am pumped about next year already...
