  1. If he stays, great. If he goes to WSU, good luck to him. I have just stopped really caring at this point.
  2. Who wouldn't love UNL? There's a life sized mammoth statue on campus.
  3. I'd much rather have a Dez Fitzpatrick type situation than a Derrion Grim situation. The best key is if he does indeed flip, don't make him regret committing here in the first place on Twitter. Please.
  4. Wow. What an unexpected win. Miles needs to get a defensive mind however, perimeter defense is still god awful. Also, use common sense. Tshimanga was in for WAY too long after he started off horribly. He rebounded (pun not intended) nicely, but still, if you see a player performing poorly, you should yank him immediately. Same goes for Tai when he was clearly worn out yet he kept him in for another minute in the 2nd half. Respect gained for Jacobson too. I normally don't like him, but he came in clutch despite being sick. Funny how he had one of his best performances while he was sick.
  5. Heh, I guess North America is the only honest continent. Well, and Australia. Damn Antarctica. Bunch of liars that continent has.
  6. I don't think the Riley era will be the same as the Callahan era, where we recruit well then do nothing with them. I think that we improve even more next year, as in no blowouts. Chin up everyone.
  7. Geez, I wasn't expecting to come here to so much pessimism. I think 10-2. I think we see immediate improvement with the defense. Not to mention the fact that our offensive line completely changes next year. We lose Ohio State because JT Barrett is in his 10,000th year of eligibility. We lose Penn State because playing them in the 2nd half of the year always seems to be a death sentence.
  8. Random throwbacks to the time Lil' Red came bouncing out of the tunnel during the moment of silence.
  9. I wanted the streak to die just so the Patriots wouldn't make it. Call me a bad fan.
  10. Quite ironic for a Trump supporter to say. I do not consider myself a Trump supporter. I consider myself a conservative who was forced to vote for Trump after the sh#t fest that was the primaries. Edit: my first paragraph was horribly written so I got rid of the damn thing. I hope what I left gets my question across... Why I decided to vote for Hillary: Like Kasich, she would respect and uphold the Iran Nuclear Agreement. More than likely making the world a little safer. Like Kasich, she would openly respect and defend the "law of the land" in Marriage Equality. Not putting good, hard-working families in disarray. Like Kasich, her main goal wasn't to create chaos in the health markets. They wanted change, but "thought out" change and work to make the system better. Like Kasich, she wanted to maintain a strong stance on the global stage. America is the most influential nation on the planet, use it to our advantage. Like Kasich, she seemed mentally stable. (list list isn't all-inclusive of my reasoning, but hopefully shows enough of my though process) That said, I'm curious why you felt the need, "as a conservative", to vote for Trump? She has broken numerous laws and is just overall corrupt. I did not want that in office.

  12. Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it. Go look at what the Germany people were saying about Hitler as he rose to power. You'll see they didn't think it could happen either.Germany was in the dumps after losing WW1, and unlike this process, most people were on board with Hitler. If Trump is truly fascist (he's not), then he will have a lot of blockades before we even come close to how Nazi Germany was. Most people were making fun of Hitler as a ridiculous choice for government during his rise to power. And asserting that Trump isn't fascist doesn't make it so. I certainly hope we have more blockades if he or his cohorts are fascists, but history tells me that all countries eventually fall, and authoritarian takeovers of governments is not uncommon. I suggest we hope for the best but remain vigilant for the worst. EDIT: Here's an article by an expert in Nazism about the similarities of Trump and Hitler: http://www.rawstory.com/2016/10/expert-on-nazism-explains-the-shocking-similarities-between-trump-and-hitlers-propaganda-tactics/ This is the 21st century. Not happening. And a fear mongering article from a non-credible site won't convince me otherwise.

  14. It's the fact that I suck at arguing with people. Plain and simple. But here are my views, and this goes to everyone: Trump won the election. Yes he did. He is your president now like it or not. Don't like it? Very well. Make your voice heard and vote in 4 years. The electoral college works well in not allowing NYC and LA to control the entire election. Trump won against a horrible Democratic opponent (way for both parties to put up their worst candidates, huh?) It is not worth throwing a fit about. Yes it is a fit, there is no sugar coating. It's honestly time for everyone who hates him to suck it up and see what happens. Keep in mind that not everybody thinks the same way the protesters do. The protesters are just the loudest. The other half of the country have a completely different idea of "change." When laws are being made, ALL heads have to be considered. If you must be loud, then go in front of Congress and talk to them. There's not much they can do.
  15. Okay, I'm done trying to talk in P&R. I am a minority conservative on this board, and I think what you guys say is stupid. On the flip side, what I say, you guys think is stupid. It's like trying to fit a circle block in a triangle hole. No, protests don't help with anything but dividing us even more. Case in point, this.
  16. You must be very young; the '60s alone proved that the very opposite is correct. Peaceful protest gained greater rights for blacks and women; it has, most recently, gained additional rights for the LGBT community. Yup I am young. Here's why I accept the 60s protests more: They actually had zero rights legally. They got the civil rights. Bingo. Now, all protests can do is change society. Society is a completely different animal. That is all I have to say. I am tired, sorry. Do you think what was accomplished by the 60s protests had nothing to do with society's changing views because of said protests? 'Cause that's very unlikely to be the case. Changing views of society have an affect on laws. For a more recent example, see gay marriage. Just an anecdote here but when Ellen's sitcom was on in the 90's I watched it every week with my mom. Once Ellen came out as gay my mom wouldn't let me watch it anymore. Fast forward to now and my mom is much more open-minded about it as are millions of other people. And now gay marriage is legal. These two things are related. Ellen's sitcom isn't a protest. However, if awareness is going to be raised over political issues, it needs to be in this kind of format. Sort of something everyone can enjoy. If Ellen was leading a big, noisy protest movement, imagine how things would be.
  17. Okay, I'm off P&R for the night. I'm tired and that is clearly showing in my responses now.
  18. So are thousands of people doing the same thing. If that were true it wouldn't have been all over the news the last two days. Being upset about something that didn't go away is called a tantrum. I haven't taken part in one of those since I was about 4 years old!

  21. I don't believe this at all. A lack of objection to racism and sexism will allow those things to dominate. To oppose those things, we must be loud and firm. The existence of reactionaries, and there will always be such people, should never even begin to discourage standing up for what is right. Well I certainly haven't been swayed by these protests. No conservative has. All they are doing is further dividing us.
