  1. Even if we go 5-7 next year, which is highly likely, Riley's not going anywhere.
  2. Plus we were told that Riley would coach these guys up. He hasn't coached up anything.
  3. We were told that with our resources Riley would be bringing in top talent. Hasn't happened. The current class is comparable to Bo's classes, and we'll be reaching just to fill the class. We need 4 and 5-stars to be the norm, not the exception. Only way that happens is if we bring in a big name who top players will actually want to come to Lincoln to play for.
  4. The only reason that game was competitive is that Wisconsin's offense isn't very good.
  5. We're going nowhere fast under Riley. Just stagnant, uninspired play.
  6. This is downright embarrassing. A middle of the road SEC team and even their speed and physicality is far superior to ours.
  7. Courtesy of recruiting analyst Bryan Munson: ---Foster Sarell: Minor miracle the Huskers are still in the discussion. Nebraska/Cav has done a fabulous job recruiting him. However, thinks he stays on the West Coast and its trending toward Stanford. ---Darney Holmes: Still some potential there for Nebraska. Although he is going to announce at the Army All-America Bowl he does not think its over until its over. With all of that being said he still sees him ending up in Westwood and the UCLA Bruins (me too). ---Jamire Calvin: Said he will be announcing at the Army All-America Bowl. He also told Munson today that he is not sure if he will take his scheduled visit to Miami on 14 January. He thinks that Calvin will commit to Nebraska. However, said he could take another visit in January (Texas). IF that happens it would fly in the face of Coach Riley's policy of no trips to other schools in January and could cost is his commitment. ---Tyler Shelvin: Will re-announce for LSU at the Army All-America Game. He stil plans to take his visits which he thinks is huge for the Huskers. However, he thinks he signs with LSU. ---Chuck Filiaga: Huskers have done a great job recruiting him the last month and a half. Trending towards Michigan.
  8. A lot of fans are in denial, plain and simple. Funny thing is, back when I used to criticize Bo's classes, people told me I was being a Debbie Downer. Now suddenly Bo's classes were no good and he left the cupboard bare. Can't have it both ways.
  9. hey...since you can see the future...what are the next winning lotto numbers? Would you care to place a wager? How about if we land either of these guys, I'll pay you $500. If not, you pay me $500. Deal?
  10. Yeah, he's landed a couple. But in order for us to be championship caliber, 4 and 5-stars need to be the norm, not the exception. When Riley was hired, we were told that with the resources at his disposal, recruiting would improve. Hasn't happened. Once again we'll end up reaching just to fill the class.
  11. Come on, guys. Open your eyes. Neither of those two is coming here. It has nothing to do with "sunshine" or whatever you want to call it; it has to do with realism. There is zero buzz - none - about either of the two coming to Nebraska. To think otherwise is just setting yourself up for disappointment. Top three means nothing, zero, zilch. And I'm not saying that we miss on every guy we target. However, these two were specifically mentioned, and we will miss on both of them.
  12. Well, Chuck Filaga just announced his final 3 and Nebraska is one of them, with OU and Michigan being the other two. We're still in the mix with Foster Sarrell There a CB, from California I believe we still got a shot at who's an extremely high 4 star, borderline 5 star. As far as which ones we have a realistic shot at landing? Not sure. But being in an elite recruits top 3 with 1.5 months until NSD is huge. Come on, man. We're not getting Filiaga or Sarrell. And we're not getting any consolation prizes for being in a guy's top 3. I couldn't care less how many guys we host -- we've gotta be able to land them. Harbaugh and Meyer have that ability; Riley doesn't. And until we get a guy that has that ability, we'll remain languishing in mediocrity.
  13. Miles won with Sabans guys and he didn't win the big one with mostly 4 or 5 star guys. Miles is a good Coach but he wouldn't just be able to reel in 5 stars from all over the country at nebraska. Any Coach at LSU will recruit well bc they are in one of the most talented areas in the country and the only big show in the state.Les' name value alone would lure in better classes than what Riley has shown. Les would land plenty of Louisiana talent. He's won a NC. He's landed dozens of players in the pros. That's what recruits want to hear. There is a big reason why Miles recruited a lot of Louisianna players...he coached at LSU. Not seeing enough Loosianna kids coming to N to make a big difference. My point is, LSU can't offer every LA kid. Heck, Travis Etienne was just offered yesterday. Alonzo Moore is another example. Les has tremendous respect down here. If a kid can't go to LSU, many would go to play for Les. I also think he'd steal his share of LSU targets.
  14. Such as? Just curious who you think we have a realistic shot at landing.

  16. We're ranked 17th right now, but if we have to "reach" just to fill the class, our star ranking is going to drop significantly.
  17. Honestly I'm tired of heading the "stars don't matter" argument. Sure there are some exceptions, but for the most part stars definitely matter, and the statistics have proven that they do. The past 12 national champions have all had multiple Top 10 classes including at least one Top 5 class in the 3 years prior to winning it all. Barely making the Top 25 isn't gonna do much for us.
  18. My question isn't "who's next" but rather "who's left?" A lot of swinging and missing. Sorry but making the Top 3 for a guy isn't winning us any brownie points.
  19. The problem I have is that I feel we'll be reaching just to fill this class, making offers to guys that otherwise would've never received offers. That should never hsppen.
  20. Riley May be a great coach but without talent it's not going to matter. We were led to believe that with our budget he'd be pulling in top recruiting classes. Hasn't happened yet.
  21. Well, finishing 20-22 isn't going to win us any championships. I doubt we'll even finish that high; might not even crack the Top 25. Only way I see us returning to top dog status is by hiring a big-name coach and proven winner and top recruiter that 4 and 5-star guys will come to Lincoln to play for. My choice? Les Miles. He has won a national title, played in another, has beaten Saban multiple times, has ties to the south, and is an excellent recruiter. Not to mention his son is coming to play here. Give Miles a 5-year deal to right the ship, then bring in Frost to continue it.
  22. What exactly do you mean by "up"? Barely cracking the Top 25 in recruiting and being ranked 5th or 6th in the conference is not what I'd consider "up." Started off strong but it has fizzled out in a big way.
  23. Reminds me of a kid I had in class one year. Always put his head down and slept. I used to fuss at him and make him stand up nect to his desk so that he wouldn't fall asleep. Tried every punishment in the book but none of them worked. Finally I just sat down with him and asked why he was do tired all the time. I figured it was because he was staying up at night playing video games, or talking/texting like a lot of kids do. He finally opened up to me and told me that his stepfather was abusive and was molesting his little sister - said he'd get drunk at night and then go after her. He said he had to stay up all night to protect her from his stepdad. Man it made my heart break, and I felt horrible for assuming what I had. You never know what these kids are going through. It certainly doesn't excuse LP from what he did and the choices he made, but experiencing evil at a young age can have a drastic impact on a child's mind.
  24. I'm poor so I don't have Showtime, but I really want to see it. LP is the GOAT Nebraska back, imo. I even give him the nod over Rozier.
