  1. Say what you will about JP. Who cares? It's his message that matters. And everything he is saying is all true. THERE IS ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY WITHIN THE NEBRASKA FOOTBALL PROGRAM! When Keith Williams is given a slap on the wrist for his 3rd DUI after they full on knew about the 1st two DUI's AND the third one happened a couple of hours after recruiting a 5 Star recruit and his family! All of this just tells the Players and Coaches, you can get a way with almost anything and we will look the other way...WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY?!! When players get felony arrests, and there are no suspensions involved, WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY?!! When Coach Banker suggests that Nate Gerry should be suspended AND have his Captain-ship taken away for skipping classes the entire year and Riley says no, Then he fires Banker instead! WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY?!! When Donte Williams goes to strip clubs every night on the road during satellite camps, when he is representing the University and while the University is paying for it and nothing is done about it, WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY?!! When coaches leak to players when "Random" drug tests are going to be administered, This is a huge breech and tells players that they can party all they want right after the tests are done. Coaches allowing recruits to go to frat parties all night long on the weekends that they are in Lincoln and getting wasted out of their minds. Keyshawn came there every other week last Fall while still in High School because of the lax oversight and all of the drugs and parties...WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY?!!
  2. JP is so spot on, Shawn Eichorst is only looking out for his own ass. The stuff about Volleyball Coach John Cook...absolutely true. He has no relationship with his most successful coach. because Coach Cook has seen through his BS for far too long. It is baffling that he won't give support to, what is now, the Huskers only truly great program, No offense to Women's Gymnastics and Bowling, but Eichorst doesn't have much of a relationship with those coaches either. The team has ZERO Accountability. All you have to do is look at the NON-SUSPENSIONS of players with felony arrests this summer or last year's debacle with Nate Gerry and not suspending and taking away his Captain tag for not attending classes all year. Riley's teams are what they are. No surprises here. It was the same in Oregon St. It's time to move on and ReturnTo Glory!
  3. I missed nothing. We were great then. If we want to be great again. You get rid of the jokesters running the asylum. Now.
  4. Yes but for the most part, they were suspended for some of the season. Yes Lawrence Philips case was the most prominent and yes, he probably shouldn't have been allowed to play, but Osborne has addressed that countless times. Riley, Eichorst & Co. have ZERO accountability in their program. It's beyond repair what they allow and the kids have performed exactly as they should when there is no discipline or respect. From the coaches on down, this is what the players are seeing. Donte Williams comes in and talks a big game and goes to strip clubs every night on the road during satellite camps...on the program's dime. Why would the players do anything other than what they are doing when they violate team rules by smoking weed, partying their asses off every night with recruits? Coaches telling them of when their "Random" drug tests are going to be administered. This is the results of all of this. You lose to Directional Illinois.
  5. Why is it weird? ReturnNUtoGlory95. I think it speaks for itself. Entire regime needs to go.
  6. ADSE has to be fired first. No AD will come in and use one of his hires. Eichorst gone. Then Riley. And Eichorst's days are so numbered. He has outlived his time..
  7. Since there were contract extensions this week...I say no. That is the Kiss of Death at Nebraska
  8. Allowing Nate Gerry to play all last season when they full on knew he wasn't attending classes, and ignoring Coach banker's recommendation to suspend him and permanently pull his captain status from him leading to many others skipping classes if they don't hold their captain accountable. WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN??!!!
  9. If there is no accountability on a team, how can you expect them to Win?! The fact that Riley & Co, did nothing to the players that were arrested this summer, just tells the players and staff that it just doesn't matter. Coaches leaking to players when random drug tests are going to take place, allowing recruits to go to all night frat parties and getting wasted out of their minds, like Keyshawn. If you slap the wrist of your coach that just had his 3rd DUI on a major recruiting weekend, then your players don't think they can get in trouble either. And then noting happens once they are in trouble. When you allow your coaches like Donte Williams to go to strip clubs while representing Nebraska during satellite camps, what do you think will happen??!! THERE IS ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY WITHIN THE NEBRASKA FOOTBALL PROGRAM. THE CULTURE IS STRIPPED.

  11. Riley has no shot to be successful. None. Here is a fair narrative from my vantage point. If a culture is great and staff is competent you may expect to hit a ceiling at a place like Oregon St given location, facility and recruiting disadvantages. BUT a stable staff, head coach longevity, and and if there was a great culture--it should be a hidden advantage and the record should improve and may max out as noted but it should not go backwards. In years 3-7(2005-09)for Mike Riley his teams went 41-23 BUT in years 8-12(2010-2014) his teams went 29-33. The record should not go terribly backwards if the culture is great and the staff competent yet they regressed to 29-33 and should do the opposite as staff stability and culture take hold. If the records were reversed with years 3-7 being 29-33 and years 8-12 going 41-23 one could argue his teams hit a ceiling due to the disadvantages noted--and then potentially he would have been a great hire at Nebraska. While all the other teams were having coaching turnover in the PAC 12 his teams should have improved with coaching stability and fixed culture but the opposite occurred and those are the key statistics that were missed with this hire. No way should years 8-12 have fallen off that greatly with the staff stability while other teams in conference had massive turnover. It speaks to the level of competence relative to other DI coaches and speaks to the dysfunctional culture of lack of accountability that has been a hallmark of Mike Riley coached teams--highly penalized, slow starts, upsets by much weaker teams, few consequences for severe errors of judgment and rules violations. Look no further than the handling of Nate Gerry and Stanley Morgan and you know what I mean by the lack of accountability. But it all still starts at the top with Eichorst & Co. He's a complete mess himself, as you know.
  12. ADSE is worse than bad. He has ruined the culture inside the Athletic Dep't in only ways that Steve Pederson could. Ask any of the coaches in the entire program except Riley. The Athletic Dept is crumbling from the inside out and it is showing on the field in all sports except a few where the coaches do not even have his support and are on their own. This starts at the Top. He must be let go as soon as possible. Then everything can start the long road to repair.
  13. No question about that. Oregon played "prevent offense" last week and it almost cost them the game. This program is in such shambles, it's not even close to what the press will say this week coming up. ADSE is the worst thing to come around since Pederson. they are almost twins in how they handle staff and coaches. They are complete frauds. It trickles down and this is what we are left with. It's beyond brutal what is going on in Lincoln. Didn't think they would ever hire another Pederson. It's a sad day to be a Husker....but maybe the bottom is finally here.
  14. We have to really decide if we want to compete or not. If we do, we will spend the money on a real coaching staff and get rid of the worst AD in the country. If not, it remains all smoke and mirrors. It's not that complicated where the real problems lie. It all comes from the Top. Eichorst is a terrible leader and this is the result. What's your next move, Nebraska?!
  15. What would make me happy is National respectability again instead of the hint of it like last year and then get it blown up in our face on National TV and become a national joke once again. I want a College Game Day atmosphere and 1st team Prime Time sportscasters covering our games. I want us to compete for the best players and coaches. Spend some of that $51 Million and get a real coaching staff in here. Act like you're actually trying to win once again, instead of the farce that is our AD bringing in Riley and his .500 record. I want the coaches and players to have accountability to each other. To respect each other. To respect the fans and the legacy that was built before them so they are able to train and play in the finest of facilities. I want to rest of the coaches at NU to have trust in the Athletic Department, of which they have been losing for years. That would make me happy. The last 20 years has mostly made me unhappy.
  16. Yeah good luck with that. Totally unrealistic thoughts there. But if it did happen that way. Even more unhappy that we had the talent to beat the good teams and lose to the bad ones. That would then prove that the coaching staff sucks.
  17. Who really gives a sh*t about 9 wins?! It's about quality wins and quality losses too. Everyone is so caught up in the BS of 9 win syndrome for way too many years now. And especially since the regular season went to 12 games, 9 wins doesn't even come close to same meaning as it did in the 80's and 90's. As far as 9 wins, do you feel the Huskers had a great season or even a good season last year? Unranked and got blown out in two of their most important games and lost their 3rd most important game in OT. Name one really quality win in 2016? Oregon? At the moment the media played the game up as a huge win, but the "experts" knew Oregon was a joke and the season proved it. Nebraska beat zero teams in the Top 25. The season was a mess. Arguably 2015 was better at 6-7. Same thing happened in 2003 when Solich got fired. People still want to go back to this and bitch and moan about firing a coach that had 9 wins. But they had zero quality wins and were blown out in their 3 most important games, 41-24 to Mizzou, 31-7 to Texas and 38-9 to Kan St. In 2002, they lost to Penn St 40-7, Iowa St 36-14, Kan St 49-14, Colo 28-13 and a close loss to Texas and OK St and lost 5 of last 7 games. Solich teams were lazy like their coaching staff had become. They didn't bust their ass recruiting anymore, because they just thought, "Hey, we're Nebraska, the recruits will come here to play". That's why Solich got fired. The same stuff has been happening ever since. Do we have lowered expectations? Hell yes we do, if we were born before 1980. Just think about the kids that will be Freshman this year at Nebraska. They are 18 years old. What do they know of Nebraska Football? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT MEDIOCRITY!!! No Conference Titles. A BS National Title appearance when they were one year old! They basically might remember the last year of Callahan, then start to get excited during Bo's tenure, but saw the roller coaster ride that he brought, and now Riley. They have seen nothing but mediocrity. So I suppose if you're one of them, these are their expectations. Preseason 36th?!! If that is not lowered expectations for everyone involved then why do we spend the money we do on this program? YES, EXPECTATIONS HAVE TO BE DISAPPOINTING. And by hiring a lifetime .500 coach in Riley, that is what our expectations should be. MEDIOCRITY AT BEST.
  18. Harrington is not a bad example, it's a show of leadership from above, that no matter who you are, doesn't matter here. If you don't like our rules, then go elsewhere, but you aren't playing here anymore. We will not stand for it. We are better that that and one guy will not be treated differently anymore. You're OK with a slap on the wrist for Keith William's 3rd DUI after they full on knew about the 1st two DUI's AND the third one happened a couple of hours after recruiting a 5 Star recruit and his family? ...And god only knows how many hundreds of other times he drove drunk before this one too. You're OK with Keyshawn coming there every other week last Fall while still in High School because of the lax oversight and all of the drugs and parties? Getting blitzed out of his mind on alcohol and many other types of drugs. This was very well known, he was seen constantly at these parties and the coaching staff just looked the other way. These are the accountability issues. If you don't care and you think it's OK, then that is the biggest problem of all. These are MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY issues. There has to be accountability to teammates...on a football team, in the military, in the business office and at home. If you don't have these things then everything is broken from the inside on up. And if you don't think that other coaches and teams around the country aren't telling other recruits about what's happening inside this broken down joke of an administration, then you're just blind to what's happening out there in the world of college sports and the world in general. They are recruiting as hard as possible and will use whatever tactics available to take from Nebraska and everyone else. And if we just hand them the ammunition AND the gun, then it's our own suicide that we are committing.
  19. Not getting worked up about partying is your right. But how does it help the program when players think they can just do whatever they want whenever they want and not be held accountable? And then the coaches looking the other way at everything?! This is on the coaches and the AD. No team can succeed when the team as a whole can't held accountable. Other teams are making their players accountable and sending messages to the rest of the team that if you break the rules you will be suspended or worse. Look at Oregon's WR Carrington, dismissed from team for his DUI. That's how you send a message.
  20. How many coaches have to be fired before Head Coach Mike Riley is the one being held accountable for hiring them in the first place? Nobody made Riley hire those coaches.
  21. For starters, a slap on the wrist for Keith William's 3rd DUI after they full on knew about the 1st two DUI's AND the third one happened a couple of hours after recruiting a 5 Star recruit and his family! All of this just tells the Players and Coaches, you can get a way with almost anything and we will look the other way. Then the coaches leaking to players when random drug tests are to be administered. This is a huge breech and tells players that they can party all they want right after the tests are done. Coaches allowing recruits to go to frat parties all night long on the weekends that they are in Lincoln and getting wasted out of their minds. Keyshawn came there every other week last Fall while still in High School because of the lax oversight and all of the drugs and parties. He is obviously the biggest casualty of not having any accountability, with coaches AND players looking the other way. Why has there been no punishments yet for Stanly Morgan or Antonio Reed? There is plenty more that has been going on for way, way too long now and this is a direct reflection on the entire team, coaches and athletic dep't. If these things are allowed to continue and there is certainly no signs that they are stopping anytime soon, then this team will continue to go nowhere but to mediocrity or worse.
  22. It has always been obvious that Texas ruined everything and Nebraska pretty much had no choice at the time but to bail for the Big Ten. We all miss the Oklahoma and Colorado games, but Kansas St and the occasional Iowa St games were great too. Just being able to drive to these games was the best. Now it's a hassle to go to road games...and expensive! Does anyone else really feel Iowa is a rival? Or Northwestern, Wisconsin, etc? We haven't even played Michigan since 2013. Big Ten move was necessary, but certainly not as much fun. AND THERE ARE TOO MANY OTHER RED TEAMS. The Sea of Red doesn't mean as much as it used too, in many ways.
  23. First off about the sellout streak, we all know that has kind of become a joke too. Tons of empty seats, corporations forced to buy the extras or seats given away for free. But every school deals with that too. Fans have too many things to distract them now and sometimes I would rather just sit at home and watch on my big screen 4K HD TV on a hot or cold day. It just isn't a priority in my life like it used to be. I made it to Lincoln almost every game of the season, now maybe half. As far as earning back the fans expectations besides just plain winning in recruiting and most importantly on the field and not being blown out in the most important games of the season...The team needs accountability. The coaches and players need accountability. The entire Athletic Dep't needs accountability. If we don't get accountability, then we will always be mediocre for years to come.
