  1. Looks like the speed and movement for a LB at the next level ... or atleast ... that's what I would perceive Pelini's staff would see him at.
  2. Longhorns get a beatdown ... 17-52.

    1. NUance

      NUance

Whorns will score more than 17. Against the creampuff Okie Lite defense.

I can see that. We shall see.

  3. I was curious to hear some of our insiders and our "experts" and who they think will fill the void left by Crick's injury.
  4. Yeah that ... plus, if the Newton's are so lilly white ... then they would have been saying, "Ya, our first choice was Mississippi State ... but they were offerring my son a lot of cash, around $180K. We just couldn't go with that ... we felt that was wrong. We found a program that we felt was the best fit for my son ... and was above board." But what do we have ... evidence of pay for play with other players on the Auburn team ... and were suppose to believe that these guys are above board. Ya, might not be "evidence" ... the NCAA expects these clowns to say, "oh ya, we took $180K for our services". To me, it's a joke.
  5. If by "rolled" you mean "win" ... that is certainly attainable. We would need to score alot of point, play good football and protect the ball ... with some luck ... we could "roll". If that were to happen, I think we'd go to a high bowl and then get "rolled" ... all things being what they have been. The B1G is more like the b1g ... with Wisky bieng the "1". The rest of us fella's are eating the leftovers. I see it a bit different however ... Oh how I hope I'm wrong. I still see three more losses. Mind you, I don't have teams listed ... cause I think our team is such that on any given day ... any of the teams left on our schedule could beat us except probably Minnesota.
  6. My comment is aside from his good play in this game. I thought he was gonna be an answer at WR. I'm pleased with what we are seeing develop at WR ... and who can argue with what we saw on the field by the guy in this past game. Guess I feel a bit like when we took Steinkuhler away from the O line and put him on the D line. Personally, I think time has shown we needed him on the O line. Obviously, the coaches know what they are doing and their plan ... my perspective is only as a fan ... I'm just hoping that we don't stay talent deficient at the WR spot. I know Bo can develop the CB spot ... it's finding talent at WR that seems to be this teams problem. We can find blocking WR's (one is in the NFL now), but it's tough to find one that can run routes, get open and block.
  7. Agreed Hammerhead. I enjoyed reading the comments in this thread.
  8. I agree with your post. I have the same concerns. I thought we would get blown out by Wisconsin and I also thought we'd lose by 2-3 TD's to OSU ... seeing that I believe our O & D line just is not their. For 2 1/2 quarters I had it about right. I still think general my perception of the team is spot on. We came back against a team that was missing alot of parts in this game and frankly, we made their troubled freshman QB look good ... and with David's steal of the ball and then the QB injury ... the momentum of the day helped to swing things our direction. Overall, I think this team was probably ranked too high initially ... we were given lots of credit for our D. I had us around 25 in the country to start the year ... some on this board would probably say I wasn't a true fan with that view. After these first 4-5 weeks, I'd still have us around 25 in the country. Do people realize that even in the Big 12 ... we would behind and lose to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A & M, Texas, Baylor, Kansas St. Mizzou. I realize there are a few toss ups ... but hey, even Iowa St. might be better then us. We look pretty good in the B1G because there is one solid team in Wisky and the rest are really below par ... even for the B1G. All that to say ... overall I think the perceptions/desires of Husker Nation are a bit high for where this team really is. I had this team with atleast four losses this year ... and I see nothing in the O & D lines and the secondary to change that view. Funny thing is ... I'm not down on TMart or the offense ... it's about where I thought it would be. I think if TMart can make good decisions and protect the ball, this team can and will go with 2 losses. It's the D and it's lack of development to this point that continues my thought that yes ... we will have four losses.
  9. It's nice to know that we can impress a 3* recruit. :-(
  10. Personally, I wouldn't commit to a team if my opinion of the visit was 8.5. Hopefully, he has us even higher overall ... I would think that you would commit to a school that was a 9-9.5 overall.
  11. If you have the insight and foreknowledge to know exactly what the "boo" sounds were for ... and it was booing for the players ... rather then the level of play or play calling ... then I'll jump in and agree with your statement. However, I don't have the same confidence. Something tells me from the circumstances of the night that something else was going on.
  12. Personally, I don't get how everyone seems to be down on themselves for giving up on this game. Hey, we sucked the almost three quarters ... got beat in every way possible. The game was over ... that's why you gave up. I switched over to "Titantic" for 4-5 minutes ... missed David's fumble "steal". In most situations ... yes ... game over ... especially with what this team has already been thru ... or not shown. Then comes the biggest comeback ever ... against one of the worst OSU teams in a long time ... who gets their bad QB injured (who we couldn't even stop) ... and the Huskers mount a comeback against a bad team with lots of Freshmen and Sophomores. The comeback happened because of those things ... coupled with some good play calling and execution. I'm not ashamed ... heck, my score for this game was 17-41 ... and a loss. I don't feel bad at all about being wrong. Last week my prediction was 24-45 ... and I was more right. Was I more of a fan either week ... or am I just being honest with what I sense? I loved to see this comeback ... one small step for this team ... something to build on ... cause I think this is the kind of talent and team we are gonna have all year.
  13. Personally, I don't think their is "fixing". We don't have a rush on the defensive side of the ball. We have one good LB and the secondary is young and has lost it's confidence. I just think this is how the defense is gonna be this year. To me, that is realistic. Things can improve ... yes ... but the reality is that this D is missing parts on the D line and the LB position. I think it's outside of coaching at this point.
  14. I'm stunned. Who are those guys with an "N" on their helmet?

  15. I'm stunned ... I gave up on our Huskers tonight. My score was 17-41. Some where in all this we got the train going the right directions. My hats off to the fella's. I don't think we are that good ... but we got a win. Might just be a start.
  16. Thanks dick Sorry but the "Big Ten, Welcome to Nebraska Football" sign on Gameday got to me. It was just so damn creative. At this point ... I'm thankful we are in the B1G. Just who the hell would we beat in the Big 12? Maybe Kansas. We'd lose to K-State, Mizzou, Iowa State ... hell, I think we'd lose to everyone but Kansas ... and I'm just talkin' about the North teams.
  17. I'm watching the Titantic now ... atleast that ship won't sink for another 1-2 hours. Facts are now facts ... we are who I thought we were. 17-41.
  18. I feel sick ... I was hoping 17-41 wasn't gonna be the score. We better turn this around quick.
  19. 141 yards in offense given up ... wow. We are pretenders.
  20. Miller is gonna end up looking like another "great" QB.
