Good question. Where does it leave Kody Spano? LaTravis Washington? Zac Lee? Taylor Martinez? In other words, out of all the QB's we have, which one is better suited for a run-oriented offense? Latravis Washington as his HS in Florida ran the Ozbone (Osborne's) Offense. Latravis was very heavily recruited by quite a few big name programs such as Ohio St and the Big 3 Florida Schools to play QB...Then Kody Spano....

Watson even said we were going to have problems before the season. Oh I guess you missed that like most of everything this season. I bet you weren't saying anything about Watson and the Offense last year were ya. I'm tired of hearing people b**** and whine and call for the heads of coaches after one season when the Offense is sputtering because of inexperience. It's up to the players to execute the plays, not the coaches, you can call the right plays that would would work with experienced players successfully and run the same play with inexperienced players that don't execute and have mental lapses and have that same play blown up all day long. So sir although you have the right to your own opinion you aren't living in reality in this matter. Here's a little bit of reality for ya, there isn't one damn thing you can do or say to change the coaching situation so deal with it and enjoy the ride as frustating as it is we are finding ways to win. This team as well as these same coaches through the rough time have developed alot of character and heart, by perseverence through the rough times which will benefit us next year and years to come as there is now a solid foundation.

I don't think the majority of people like the Option we're running. Maybe I'm mistaken, but it seems like the majority here wish we would shelve it. The payout of the Option Pass isn't worth the pain of the several failed Option Runs we have to run to make it work. For me, running the option with Lee is simply futile. He's slow and cautious.....two major faults. So yeah, shelve it until we get Green next year. I agree throwing away a half dozen option plays for the possibility of successful option pass just isn't worth it. We go 3 & out wayyyyyy too much as it is. I'll tell you this, if we somehow miraculously beat Texas with Lee at the helm there is no way Green starts until Lee graduates and thats just the way it is. There is no way a backup unseats a Big XII champion QB so that's something you have to deal with...

I don't care what anybody says I say Watson must be fired right now. He is ruining the program. Lee is doing good but if K-Sate hadn't of killed themselves with penalties, they would have kicked the huskers butts because of our crappy offensive plays by Watson. I can see the huskers getting 0 points against Texas because of our lousy offense. And you could do better? Watson can only work with what he has to work with...I am sure that Watson and Bo would love for you to come in and have a sit down so that you could tell them everything they are doing wrong and suggest what they could do to fix it. If we play the perfect game against UT and we win, we could still get left out of a BCS Bowl game as UT will slide into it as it is already assumed UT will be playing for all the marbles. Where would they put us then as Texas Tech only has 2 losses and they win the head to head with and would finish higher in the conference than us even with their 2 losses, OSU would go to a higher bowl game as well as OSU beat Tech finishing with only 2 losses as well. Both still have to play OU, and if they both lose we will go to a higher bowl than them and if they both win we will end up with a lower bowl game than them even though we won the conference. So we may get screwed even if we win the conference. IMHO

I recall fans wanting to fire TO because he couldn't win the big ones. Also, based on what I see on this board, you'd think we'd never lost a game because the other side was good. It's generally because so-and-so sucks; e.g., Watson, Lee, etc. One can't expect any different from Sooner fans. "Fan" must be derived from fanatical not reasonable. Well I can agree with you a little bit there. Whenever a team loses there will always be some type of blame game going on and it has always been that way. This year the only game I say we truly lost was Texas Tech. They outplayed us and they beat us soundly. Iowa State and Virginia Tech we gave those games away. Virginia Tech is a great team, but we had plenty of chances to put them away and didn't do it. Iowa State we gave them 8 gifts and they still almost didn't take it. To the OP...no one has jumped on or off the bandwagon. We still love our Huskers, but it is what it is. Our offense still stinks, but I think we are learning on that side of the ball. Even after the win there are still a lot of questions that still need to be answered, so it is still one game at a time. I whole heartedly agree, I know there are major problems on the Offensive side of the ball side and never said otherwise. The one thing that irks me the most, are the morons on here that claimed before the game NU's Defense wasn't very good because our Defense hasn't played a top notch Offense, what about Texas Tech as they are ranked 5th in the nation in Total Offense and 4th in Scoring Offense, and Techs Offense is light years better than OU's. Yet The Blackshirs held them to 259 yards of Total Offense which happened to be 243 yards under their average which was 185 yards less than what Texas gave up to them. In Techs game against us, they were 23 of 32 for 234 yards, against Texas 46 of 62 for 420 yards. Tech Scored only 24 against the Blackshirts as well as only 24 against Texas as well. I said it and will say it again, we lost because the Offense decided not to even make a showing in that game, going 3 and out on almost every possesion and leaving the Defense out on the field all day long. You can't expect a Defense to be on the field all day without any help from your Offense and not expect the type of result to happen that did. Plain and simple, had we had an Offense we would now be 9-0. Granted Football is a team sport, but it was the Offense that day that lost it for us against Tech and not the Blackshirts. Everyone on here took my posts before the game for granted.. I was the one that said if we got a lead, we would win as OU's Offense wasn't good enough to successfully and consistantly score on the Blackshirts. I was right. For those who think this was a fluke, it wasn't Landry just flubbing up on the Offense for OU it was the Blackshirts relentlessly harrassing him into those positions all game long.

Suh - 49 tackles (28 solo), 7 pass breakups, 1 interception, 5 sacks, 9 hurries, 2 kicks blocked. Looks like McCoy only has one tied stat. Suh is flat out DOMINANT. McCoy is just good. Edit: Heck . . . even Crick has better stats than McCoy. That's almost embarrassing for OU fans now . . . No they are that good, To hold Texas Tech which happens to be #3 in the nation in Total Offense as well as top 10 pretty much in every category of Offense except rushing offense and an Offense light years ahead of OU's this year to 243 yards under it's average 224 passing which is well under their average as well and a measley 25 yards rushing for a grand total of only 259 yards total offense which incidently happens to be 185 yards less than what Texas held them to. Against us they were 23 of 32 for 234 yards. Against Texas they went 46 of 62 for 420 yards passing. I say again the reason we lost the way we did was because the offense decided not play going 3 and out almost every series leaving the Defense on the field all day long. How can you not expect those types of results when that happens? Tech is better than any Offense OU has faced all year. But they will. This is an awesome Defense, don't sell it short because we don't have all the turnovers. It's amazing what a great pass rush gives you. Remember people Techs Offensive Line is better than OU's this year, and we obliterated Techs. Tech also scored only 24 points on the Blackshirts, the same number they scored against Texas. According to the NCAA we lead this conference in First Down Defense, we are 2nd in the Conference in 3rd Down Conversion percentage Defense behind Texas. We are 10th in the nation in Rushing Defense, 13th in Passing Defense while Texas is 29th and OU is 37th in that Category, We are 7th in Passing Efficiency Defense, 4th in Scoring Defense and 9th in Sacks only 2 sacks less than OU, 9th in Total Defense. So I don't see were you would come off thinking that this Defense isn't something special.

F THAT SH IT!! It is nowhere near as bad as '07 at this point. I would trade defense for offense for the side that is performing at a high level. At least this D can keep us in the game and possibly score points. Why is everyone giving up? This is the same gloom and doom that we had last year at 4-3 and 5-3 and we finished with 9 wins and a Gator Bowl. We are still in this race, especially with the North the way it is. Come on Husker fans, question things, wonder what ifs if you want, but don't give up. I don't know about you, but I was raised in Nebraska. Along with at least 6 generations of both sides of my family. Nebraskans don't give up. It just isn't the way we operate. We give everything we have and if it isn't good enough we go back to work, fix it, and get better no matter what the challenge is. We congratulate the best and work our ass off to get to be the best. Doing it right won't happen overnight, but if you work at it you develop a habit out of it and sustain it. That is culture, that is what they talk about it. That is the Nebraska way of doing things. This is what we were missing. It took 4 years to destroy the Nebraska way, it may take that long, or longer, to put that system back in place. I believed we would win every game, but I also understand it isn't the end of the program if we don't. Bo is going to need more than 1 1/2 years to turn this thing around. I agree 100%... so give the kid all of the reps in practice. At this point, do you really think Zac needs half the snaps in practice to be a serviceable backup? I don't understand this thinking, but I'm also not in practice everyday or a Division 1 football coach so I will leave it at I don't understand. Not that they are wrong. Unless Cody stunk it up so bad that they don't think they can continue with him yet. He had some good plays, but we also scored zero points in the second half and he accounted for 7 of Baylor's points. I think CG will start, but if and this is what I heard if CG isn't getting the job done by halftime Lee will start the 2nd half. It was Bo Pelini's decision last week to start Green, not Watson's. Watson wanted Lee to start but since Bo is the HC, Bo overrode Watson on the decision. Me personally, I think CG is being rushed and not being given ample time to develop as a player. I think we will see both QB's on Saturday.

Tell that to a Texas Team that is ranked #4 in the Nation in Total Offense. A team we held to only 254 yards of total Offense 185 yards less than what the dreaded Texas Defense held them to and yes I'm being a smartass when I say that. For you to sit there and say The Blackshirts are just ok on Defense. I'm gonna say this if we have an Offense that shows up to play and we can score, we will win. Remember people OU's Offense isn't anywhere near as potent as Texas Techs Offense nor are they anywhere near what they were last year. The only reason Tech beat us the way they did was because of no Offense on our part. You can't keep going 3 and out and keeping the Defense on the field and not expect those types of results. You go back and you look, in every one of our losses we had completely outyarded our opponents. I will go on record saying this, we get our act together Offensively there isn't team that we can't beat in this conference and if we beat OU on Saturday I believe we will run the table on the rest of our regular season schedule. Now getting back to what I was saying, we can move the ball on Oklahoma's Defense and score if we can execute and eliminate the BS mental mistakes. It's up to the Offense. 3 times this year OU has given up 350+ Yards of Total Offense, last was Kansas State at 364 yards Total Offense while we on the other hand haven't had any team this year put up a 300 yard game against us. Furthermore I stick to my guns when I say OU's Offense isn't good enough to successfully or consistantly move the ball or score on the Blackshirts. Our Offense gives us a 10 point lead, we will win. The Blackshirts will shut that OU Offense down all day long. Kansas St scored 30 points against OU, their problem was they have no Defense. We Do.....My gut is telling me the Offense will show up Saturday, but not without a few mistakes.....GO BIG RED!!!
