Agreed -- I was thinking he was going to UCLA... and if the Gators aren't careful, the Bruins are gonna swoop him and snatch him away while they're still fawning over Frost

I'd like to think that the state of Nebraska and the collective fan base would be a utopia if Frost is hired -- unfortunately, I see some folks on Facebook who think he's the wrong hire or that he should be on a 3-year leash, just like everyone else

Apparently the lull with Kelly hire is that they are doing the checks on all of the assistants he wants to bring with him. Some are saying that they're holding out, still trying to lure Frost... unfortunately for them, if they wait too long they may miss out on both

Yeah just remember last year ESPN reported that Tom Herman was going to sign to become the next coach at LSU... I won't be at ease until it's official

UCF challenged their fans to step up to the plate and prove how much they want Frost to stay, and they failed miserably. Even if they had met their goal, it still would've been chump change next to what Nebraska will offer. I see the UCF boosters trying to challenge Frost with the "He can either go back to an old dynasty, or he can stay and try to build a new dynasty" spiel

I also noticed that the UCF AD hasn't said anything over the past couple of weeks (unless I missed something) -- makes me think that Frost may have told him, "Hey, I just want to let you know that if Nebraska comes calling I'm likely going to accept their offer"

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelly end up at UCLA instead of Florida -- which would leave the Gators scrambling to get Mullen or Strong (once Frost comes home, of course).

I understand what Benning is saying, but bottom line is, UCF may very well go undefeated this year, and still won't make the playoff. That pretty much tells Frost all he needs to know.

So what if by some chance we don't land Scott Frost? Who would be our Plan B? I was thinking it'd be Matt Campbell, but considering he has a $9-million buyout, I think that eliminates him as a candidate. My choice would be Gary Patterson, who admitted that he interviewed with Osborne prior to Pelini being hired.

At this point, if Frost doesn't come, it'll be a collective punch in the gut to the entire Husker fan base. No other name, no matter how big, will suffice.

I just hope it's not the Iowa State coach... I don't see what's so special about him. We've gotta get Frost; anyone else would be a huge disappointment, no matter how much the AD & others tried to play it up.

I won't believe Kelly is going to Florida until it's official. If anything I see him going to UCLA. Florida fans on some boards I frequent still think Frost is their guy

Never said it was on here. Actually it was on a different Nebraska board, where a certain obnoxious power-abusing poster with the initials RR rules the roost.

I just hope we land Frost, because I don't see us accomplishing much with Matt Campbell (if he's our backup plan). Can someone explain to me what's so great about him?

Yeah, I tried to point that out. Nobody wanted to listen. Funny how now they're all singing a different tune.

If Frost is hired, I guarantee that we'll be in a bowl next year, which will be marked improvement from where we are now. From there, it's just continued improvement on a yearly basis.

I wasn't impressed, to be honest. He holds on to the ball for way too long. Needs to go through his progressions much more quickly.

Heck Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men would look better than the current staff

Honestly, he hasn't impressed me all that much. He's had a couple of nice wins, but hasn't done nearly enough to warrant a HC position at Nebraska.

So if not Frost, then who? I, for one, am not a big fan of Matt Campbell.
