depends what other coaches get fired. do we really think urban would pick us over texas or auburn? i also think trev is going to be selfish and make a stable hire like campbell or arnada who will stay here long term. good luck selling tickets with those names though.

i believe so, and i don't think urban has any real interest. our roster is a dumpster fire, and even urban isn't turning us into a top 25 team for 2-3 years it'll be someone like campbell who will build things from the ground up and has the youth and energy to do so.

it's going to be campbell. he's a long term option that knows how to recruit in the area.

I don't think urban would consider AZ st with the pac 10 becoming irrelevant.

at the very least an offer needs to be made to urban, and it needs to be publicly announced that an offer was made. fans should expect nothing less. passing on Urban is an F U to the fans who have supported some awful football over the last 20 years. if Fox can hire urban with very little public backlash then a public university should have zero problem hiring him. i will not be going to another game any time soon if we hire a 6 win coach from the big 12.

with the new transfer rule, i would say things can be turned around a lot faster than in the past.

it's a historic rivalry. we almost beat them last year on the road. that was the reason for thinking we could compete.

there would be at least some negotiating power with urban given that his image is pretty bad right now. we could probably get him for a somewhat reasonable price if he's interested in coaching again.

having him on campus the last 48 hours is pretty much forcing trev's hands. i'm not convinced urban would even come here, but money talks.

MJ is not turning this season around, and it's not his fault. this might be the worst defense we've ever had.

if he's not named coach before indiana, then i don't think it happens. there will be other jobs available at the end of the season and our team is a complete dumpster fire. trev could offer him an absurd contract to force him to make a decision before other jobs are available.

with or without frost OU would still have 49 pts right now getting rid of frost gives us a head start in the coaching search

that's literally what we did this season. granted frosts judgement of talent is obviously bad.

in terms of just a pure business move, you have to look at Urban Meyer. the fan support is pretty much done after today's performance. Urban Meyer at least gives the fans hope.

if urban was hired next week i think fans would be excited enough to keep showing up this season

i don't think the casual fans will be happy with anyone else at this point. i really think the sellout streak ends if anyone besides urban meyer is hired. i simply don't see the casual fan showing up to a non-con game against north dakota if someone like matt cambell is hired.
