  1. @teachercd I really like the non-conference scheduling thru 2029.. I think it positions the Huskers for post season if they do their part by winning. It doesn't ever make sense to overschedule and remove your chances at post season play. The 2028 schedule will be Rhule's 6th season, really liking our schedule.. "If" the Huskers can get back to championship caliber play, what ever that is, (ie.. running power, pro-set, read option etc...) 2028 could & should be a year of anticipation around these parts.
  2. Make fun of the SEC all you want (I'm sooo guilty of ridiculing the SEC) but below is Tennessee's 2024 schedule.. Tell me you'd like this over Nebraska's current 2024 schedule:
  3. Here's the 2025 thru 2029 Schedule. Note: 2 neutral site games with Cinncy and 1 Road game with Tennessee. Doubt there will be any effort to change the schedule from it's current. 1 Power 5 road team and 2 neutral site games with Cincinnati doesn't seem like "over scheduling" to me while also putting together some interesting lesser games. Ohio, North Dakota, Northern Illinois, South Dakota State, Arizona are all games that we can't overlook and would be awesome venue games to attend.
  4. In all, I'd say it was a good weekend. We knew going in we didn't have a developed and proven closer. The offense will need to carry this team again this year. It's frustrating that Bolt seems to struggle finding closer arms. Why could Erstad/Silva find them but Bolt/Childress can't is a head scratcher to me. Maybe it's not as bad as we think either. First weekend is always a dogfight. This weekend will reveal a lot more of what we can expect to see this year.
  5. Big Saturday for Husker Sports.. Should be fun!! Penn State/Purdue/Texas Tech/Montana & Sacramento State

Hoping for 5 W's and a whole lot of smiles!! GBR

  6. Totally agree with everything here... I'm also every bit as optimistic about today as you. Feels so freaking good to be 1 and 0 baby!! Hoping to be 2 and 0 after tomorrow but Tech is a whole different monster.
  7. I'm not sure I'd say that.. Timmerman came in and gave up the run. That can't happen on a consistent occurrence. Sure, call it freshman jitters but if he's going to solidify his position he can't give up runs. He came in with one down and a runner on 1st and gives up a double down the line allowing Baylor to tie the game. Perry and Daiss both pitched 1 inning each and both gave up a hit resulting in added pitches to arms.. Late inning pitchers are expected to throw 1, 2, 3 innings and turn it over to the next. Giving up hits often come back and bite you. Happy it didn't today but to say the guys were "fantastic" is stretching it but yes, I agree, the team pitching looked solid enough to be joyously hopeful.
  8. What I liked most was the total pitches thrown.. Nebraska batters were going deep into the pitch counts resulting in Baylor's TP at 151 while Nebraska's Total Pitches 117. Keep doing that and they'll have more wins.. Great Effort throughout... Fun game to listen to also. Well Done Huskers!! GBR
  9. Top of 6, no score Both Starters still slinging it.. Pitch Count Sears at 65, Marriott at 66 (Marriott hitting mid 90's at 75+ TP) top of 6 (2 outs) (runner on 2nd) Pitching change: Marriott's numbers 5 2/3 (10K's) (1 Hit) 82 TP Carey Doubles on 2-2 count, Scoring runner (Brumbaugh) on 2nd (1-0 Huskers) (Marriott responsible for the run) Bottom of 6th: Sears still in. TP count 65 (need Sears to get us thru this inning)
  10. Pitchers dual for sure so far. End of 4 both pitchers sitting on identical pitch counts (TP 56) I'm ok with this as it's a big ball park and first game jitters...
  11. It's time for some BASEBALL BABY!!! The game was tied in the bottom of nine A runner on third and two out In the dead still air a mosquito's whine Was all you could hear, then came a shout "Do something Ben, murder the ball, For crying out loud get a hit." Ben strode to the plate to answer the call The now restless fans knew this would be it He dug in his right foot then positioned his left And tapped the plate twice with his long wooden bat Then he pulled it back slowly as to measure its heft And tensed his whole frame as he stood like a cat The pitcher glared in, the Ump hunkered down Then the ball on its way thru the air like a shot Ben pulled the trigger, his body unwound And the ball hit the bat with the sound of a "Thock" This is the sum that the game's all about This instant is not just a moment or dream The split second physics, a hit and a roar or the swing and an out? Each player, Each coach and every fan poised to let out a scream by John W. Knight
  12. Wisconsin @ 6.5 (seems low to me)
  13. Bolt interview by D1 Baseball before the opening weekend. Coach speaks about our pitching from the start. Good Listen Bolt Speak
  14. Funny Story, Tulsi Gabbard ran on the Democratic Ticket as a Presidential Nomination Also, Mike Pence and other Republicans weren't the acting Secretary Of State (a position that has the highest security clearance in all of Government, yes higher than the president) Funny how all partys dodge truth for the purpose of party positioning. Republicans stand against abortion but are pro capital punishment. Dems are pro abortion but anti capital punishment. Both result in death of an individual and that's factual. I'm anti-abortion and anti-capital punishment. Those two agenda's are reasons I am independent. (Can't Server 2 masters)
  15. Gotta find ways to generate more ad money.. Big Business you know!!
  16. You are blinded by your motive and unwilling to accept a truth.. sure he destroyed pictures... now please answer me this mr. democrat sympathist... why isn't Hillary Clinton in JAIL??? She did the same... She Destroyed Evidence and yet you will stand at a podium and scream about justice and how it's not blind all while keeping a blind eye when true justice stands firmly against your political beliefs. You're blinded by this narrative of fairness you have even when you know it's far from fair. I'm done posting with this rant and pissing contest. I know an unfair justice system when I see it. Believe what you must. Let the Blind lead the Blind.
  17. Give it a break ZRod... you're so blinded by your politics... Hilary destroyed phones, computers and servers... yet you want to incarcerate a low level sailor for taking photos of his work station... smh
  18. You are so wrong in "every" conceptional reasoning you put forth. The law was clearly broken and in Biden's case the documents were stored in a garage of all places. The two tier justice system is alive and well regardless of the media talking points and protectors of the Democrat agendas. Another HUGE example is the Hillary Clinton server that was unsecured and storing thousands of documents. Documents that cost lives mind you when individuals we placed in official position of rival governments. (Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Algeria, and who knows where it ended).. Yet the media and the hardline democrats said nothing, did nothing and turned a blind eye. and to just further exemplify the two tiers of justice: (I could post several others but this one is especially close to my heart as I'm a former squid) Sailor Jailed for Photos To say a two tier justice system does not exist is simply a lie and everyone knows it. It protects the clintons, the bidens and yes, republicans too when it must. (Pence is an example of that.) So tired of party line voting. Either start 2 more party's (ultra left & ultra right) or get rid of party's altogether and vote commonsense but for Pete's sake, stop voting party lines. I am independent for just that reason. I support policies that are Christian based. I'm anti-abortion, anti-capital punishment, anti-big government. I support a flat tax system, term limits (that include age limits to judges) and a military that stays local. Stop policing the world and bring our troops home. Stop sticking our noses in other countries business when it's clear we don't belong in the fight. Focus on jobs, manufacturing, border control and neighborly growth through both manufacture sharing and open trade. Grow our neighbors economies as a part of Making America Great.. America is South/Central/North. This country and it's politician's need to focus on "all of America" and let other nations focus equally in their vicinities without US interference. There is one person in congress on both sides whom have said this and I'd support either of them. (On the right Rand Paul and on the left Tulsi Gabbard)
  19. Your missing the biggest misconception... neither Pence or Bidden, by constitutional law were authorized to have those documents period. "If" you, me or anyone outside of the elites had taken and stored documents with those labels/restrictions they'd be imprisoned. Trump, being a president is allowed to declassify and remove. So.. to state that which you stated is accepting a two tier justice system. Pence and Bidden should be prosecuted to the "FULL" extent of the law and should be expected to defend themselves in the courts just a Trump is.
  20. Exactly, not a bad seat in the house... Baseball in a perfect setting always trumps any other sport. Outdoors, Peanuts, 7th inning stretch, the long ball, the missed call, the swing batter swing, high and tight, double steal, the hit and run and that damn popup bunt that drops and makes everyone shake their heads... Baseball Baby!!!
  21. I like Sears getting the start on Friday. He's an experienced starter that wasn't used last year in that position. I understand Walsh getting to start too with his gas and slider. Caleb surprises me as I expected Christo to get a shot. Maybe Bolt/Childress want Christo as the mid week starter and long relief. Still, if Christo's control has improved and his change really is a useful pitch I wonder how good Walsh and Clark must be throwing right now. Clark to me is the biggest surprise, let's hope it's a good surprise. He's a lefty (like Walsh) so I like that and he flat has juice with movement. Can't walk batters though so Sunday is a good spot for now. Sears should top mid 90's and throws a slurve/change as an out pitch. Right Handed location pitcher. We need a go to Friday starter so honestly, I think it will be trial by fire.
  22. Haymarket Park really is an awesome diamond. Best in the B1G and top 10 college parks. Now add in a few brewski's and well... could get even better!! Add in a section of seats on both sides and maybe a small grandstand behind the center field decor and then sell, sell, sell the seats!! Keep the grass seating too for the little ones that like running around.
  23. I am one who agrees with the majority here. Regardless, can we just move past putting 75 yo men/women into the presidential seat. For Heavens sake we are a country of 350 million and we can't find better candidates to lead our nation??? Reuters Link to Double Standards Poll
  24. The large money contracts are what has driven me away from Professional sports as a whole. The only positive in the MLB vs the NBA and especially the NFL is the huge difference in total number of felonies committed by MLB players vs the other two sports. Regardless, when will enough be enough? Link
  25. Last year, from the start, we couldn't close out or stop middle inning scoring. This team, to be as sound as we hope it to be, will need better middle relief pitching. Starters this weekend likely won't got past 75 pitches so the games should be won by the bullpens. If our middle relief has improved from last year we should have a good shot at winning 2 games. If our middle relief is as porous as it was last year we'll struggle all weekend. Gotta get outs from the mids!!
