Mills is a good back..why Frost doesnt go to him more is beyond me. He is our best option in this game..yet we give it to AM , Mazour, anyone on a screen...but rarely Mills

They look so much better than us in almost every way right now. Way stronger and more physical

If Adrian played for LSU, they would lose a couple games......even with all that talent around him.

I think our defense has been pretty good this year, other than the LB spots. I believe that is just a result of poor talent at LB...but maybe some of it is scheme? LBs are playmakers in this defense, and unfortunstely we just dont have good playmakers their except for JoJo. Hopefully some of our young guys develop well.

Ive learned that some of us , consider 5-6 with our best win being ILLINOIS as "our offense does well with him at QB" You realize that "garbage time" also includes our offense having in their second string, typically sooner than the defense. Im not even sure Maryland had their backups in when our backups first came in...which would make what Luke did even more impressive. More than anything, considering how many likes these posts got....i learned that many husker fans get very defensive any time our starting QB gets honest evaluation. So now that we beat a bad Maryland team who gifted us our 20+ point lead and whose "will was crushed" (which i agree with) , in a game where picks turned into touchdowns, all of a sudden Martinez is a good QB? Our defense played stout, our OL dominated, our RBs ran well, our team played very well, DESPITE the fact that our QB did not, but lets give AM the credit for this win. And lets pretend "our offense does well with him at QB" in a season where weve lost 6 games so far, and our wins consist of S.Alabama (despite our offense trying to give the game away), Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Illinois, and Maryland. Btw his stats are 10 TD and 8 INT, with the #69 QBRating. Also 8 fumbles. Take away that sure interception that turned into a TD, and he'd be 9 TD and 9 INT. That is a stat, has nothing to do with the eye test. But i would argue he is even worse than his stats, as that doesnt account for all the open receivers he rarely sees, or all the screen passes that are adjusted to just to catch, putting the runner in a bad position, etc etc. Urban Meyer said Frost needs to look under the hood...the engine of an offense is the QB...he didnt want to knock down a college kid on national TV, so he used an analogy. Its pretty clear he was referring to "Frost needs to look at the QB"

Part of me wonders how much Frost's pride may play into this. He very publicly has stated that AM was his top choice out of anyone in the country. If he doesnt start AM, he is essentially making it known that he was not a good evaluator of QB talent...not that i think Frost is a prideful person, or that i think he is a bad evaluator of QB talent. Even the best, sometimes missjudge a recruit. Its not easy, especially in AMs case, since he didnt even play his senior year of high school. Im sure Frost knows how to spot QB talent about as good as anyone btw. I think AM just hasnt panned out from the mental aspect...you can see all the physical abilities.

I actually believe our OL will be very good next year. We are questionable at many positions next year, but OL is our deepest position for next year, not losing anyone, some of our best young recruits, and maybe even Gaylord back. Next year we should have no trouble running the ball.

This is where Im at. Mav may be right about Lukes struggles in practice, but if we dont have a better field general or passer than AM, i would just drop the passing game altogether and run wildcat, or option with some screen passes. We kinda have layed off the passing game actually. With AM i just feel like i did with TMart...except TMart was faster.

I dont see practice so you may have a point. If he throws more picks in practice than AM, than either AM is much better in practice than in games, or Luke really has a long way to go learning the QB position. He is a better runner than AM imo.

Im not sure what your point is. Martinez played Maryland also..and S. Alabama, Colorado, etc etc. He looks bad nomatter who he plays.

If your right, then imagine how good he would look if he was free to do whatever he wanted.

Ok, in all seriousness its time an expert weighs in. Ive been patiently letting you guys get your thoughts out on paper...some are spot on, others........lets just say sometimes the one calling others crazy is el loco gringo. -All in all, our defense played great. I have no complaints about our defense, even with a lil luck. -offensively was hit or miss...we did some great things...we also looked like we always have for the most part (aside from pulling a leprechaun out of our a$$) -I would caution that the score was not entirely indicative of our play. Look, Maryland literally gave us our 20+ point lead. And then i think they were just lifeless. -AM should of had about 3 picks, those of you who think AM looked good werent watching the game...he looked the exact same as always..sometimes he would look good, but over half the time he looked bad. This isnt baseball, a .400 batting % isnt gonna win you many games. -McCaffrey on the other hand, looks good about 90% of the time. -Iowa will be the real test...if Martinez is our QB we will lose unless we have the leprechaun hostage. If McCaffrey plays QB most of the game i like our chances, even Vedral if healthy.

If i was coach , i would be starting McCaffrey against Iowa.

I think we will be really good offensively next year with a much improved O line , and with Mills, Robinson, and McCaffrey running the show. We do need another receiver. Defensively we need some LBs , but moving Adrian there will help.
