  1. Others have said this without ANY evidence to back it up. Every qb on roster are “frosts guys”. You know what I’m sure of....frost wants to win worse than any keyboard warrior. Luke may have packages where both are on the field at the same time having him lined up at “wr” but to suggest they move him to wr is silly.
  2. Ran into one of my friend ps that lives in SoCal, he was complaining about all the new laws they were contemplating. One up was going to limit the time and volume of showers, in ones own home. I laughed, thinking it was a joke, it wasn’t. Now of course they have no way to enforce it, at this time, but my understanding was it is on the books.
  3. For the life of me I can’t figure out the rational of those people. Aren’t all these qbs “his guys”. Couldn’t agree with you more.
  4. Slow your roll. I’m not talking down any of our qbs, I am high on Luke as well. My point is that the style we ran with Luke and mccaffrey led to them unable to play for 2-3 weeks. AM was banged up yes, but they were straight unable to play. You can’t run them 12-15 times a game and expect them to hold up. As for vedral....how many points did we score in his 1 start at MN? But he looked crisp right and on paper his stats look pretty good. The whole point of this is AM is still the front runner for the job, he still should be based on nobody doing anything else to unseat him, yet. I have called for an open qb competition and let the chips fall where they may, I just won’t be surprised if AM wins that for very legitimate reasons. Why, I’m looking at facts over feelings. I’m not putting all the blame for the offensive struggles on AM, though he did share in them. I’ve said I’m high on all these guys multiple times throughout this thread and others. I’ve specifically called for a qb competition. I’m just not on the Luke is god and vedral should be starting and AM is garbage, but this is also a fluid deal, if Luke is better play him, same with vedral, or smothers. Nobody should be there yet, facts don’t support that, but feelings and that “it” thing maybe do.
  5. Didn’t say he wasn’t a good kid. In fact I’ve said I really like all 4 qbs we have and am excited about the development and upside if all of them. I’ve watched plenty of film, the point is the most lazy fan favorite is always the backup qb. He’s thrown ~15 passes, pump the brakes a bit. I’ve said AM didn’t have a good soph yr, multiple reasons for that, but remember he was being discussed as a heisman candidate preseason. He obviously didn’t live up to that, again for multiple reasons, but he’s got the skill set he flashed his freshman yr, it didn’t disappear like a fart in the wind.
  6. But he’s got “it” and the rest of them don’t. Don’t we want the guy with “it” playing. God I wish I had “it”. Wait, what is “it”?
  7. So let me get this straight, vedral looked soooo much better the game he started we scored.....7 pts, in mop up time, and he wasn’t in at that time cuz he was hurt. Oh, and the type of offense we had to run with him earned him ~2-3 weeks nursing injuries. Luke started one game, looked better than vedral, still lost, and yes the style of offense we were forced to run earned him ~2-3 weeks nursing injuries. Not really sustainable over the course of a season, you think. But he’s got “it” so who cares throw him in there, he’s really the next Joe Montana with that “it” thing going on.
  8. Again, my point was he’s never finished a whole season. Some on here would like to blame AM for all the offenses issues, giving others a pass. It’s shared amongst all of them, coaching staff included.
  9. What is “it”? You must be a super bowl gm if you can watch ~15 pass attempts and immediately tell he’s 1) way better than anyone else we have 2) should absolutely be the starter 3) has “it”
  10. Or could it be the game of football is going to mean you’re going to get hit. JD hasn’t gone through a whole season yet without at least sitting for a game or two. Could it be his inability to create separation, nah, you’re right can we get bunch back.
  11. The depth at qb is as good as i can remember. I’m not sure we’ve ever had 4 guys on campus like this before. Instead of throwing shade at any of them you should just be thanking frost and co for actually recruiting. A new idea that was totally trashed over 20+ yrs by several unl coaches and staffs. Now time for development and learning the system, if you’re not excited to see what this group can do you don’t have blood flowing through your veins.
  12. Ron brown isn’t a coach, but that’s one hell of a dig. I really don’t see what his personal views have to do with this situation specifically.
  13. Hopefully the starting five have at least one new name if not two. Depth here is getting better so either way the leash on some of these guys will be much shorter.
  14. By all accounts jd wasn’t a leader and didn’t want to be. Our leadership has and will continue to come from frosts recruits, really like the way some of the 2nd yr guys talk and hold accountable others in their class, nows the time to expand that to the team. The sky is not falling, it’s a set back, but nobody that’s chosen to leave, minus jd (which is still undecided), would have contributed meaningful snaps or production this fall. People need to quit comparing unl to UCF, completely different situations, with unl being a much harder lift obviously, and it’s not even close.
  15. That’s my point. He isn’t draft worthy right now, he likely gets picked up as a FA but has little chance of making a team. He needed a good, healthy yr as bad as anyone right now to raise draft stock.
  16. The only player that’s done anything worth note on the next stop is Roberts. We aren’t missing all that much.
  17. Not sure about manning but my understanding with betts was it was simply an act score holding him back. All classes were on track to graduation.
  18. Boy that MN game vedral started sure changed my mind, how about mccafrey’s ~20 career pass attempts. Smothers was undefeated as a high schooler. You bet all better than AM, healthy. You can’t be serious. Btw, I’m not saying neither of them isn’t better or won’t be in time, I’m saying the coaches know a hell of a lot more than you or I. If you think you care more about winning than frost I have some magic beans to sell you.
  19. What a “hot take”. Never mind that there’s actually no indication EVERY position won’t be any open competition. In fact, coaches have all said as much, compete for position everyday every practice. Do go on though.
  20. Just my opinion but many if Riley’s guys fell into 3 categories 1) didn’t fit system 2) didn’t want to compete/put in the work 3) had no business playing at this level. Frosts first yr was a scramble and maybe didn’t vet kids as much as they wanted/should have, kids in turn didn’t have the time so followed a coach to a blue blood off name only. for the guys who transferred are we really worse off. The only player I can recall having any sort of impact is Avery Roberts. Yes, Lindsay was a top recruit but has done nothing at OSU, neither has gebbia. im in on frost for the long haul and I believe he’s fixing 15+ yrs if mismanagement, poor coaching/development, and poor results. Addition by subtraction in much of the attrition.
  21. Right!!!! My problem is their ego won’t allow them to not talk about everything as the foremost expert.
  22. Maybe, I think he’d certainly get picked up as a FA but have a hard time believing if Morgan didn’t get drafted that JD would. He needs another big yr and could have it here.
  23. Mcquitty is gone too which is whatever, If he didn’t see the field last yr he certainly wouldn’t of this yr. I hope jd returns but only if he’s 100% committed and 100% ready to return. JD is special but anyone not 100% in the program or the game of football is someone we need to prepare being without.
  24. National media is largely lazy only focusing on the SEC and top 5. They could barely rattle off coaches and key players names let alone forecast the future of a team. Hence putting a team like ours last yr in the top 25....lazy. Hell, I think it was cowherd in 2018 saying our offense was the weak link. In the last stretch of games we were statistically in the top 20. Local media is much better, the afternoon guys on 1620 are a bunch of clowns and wouldn’t know their head from their a$$. Benning, vrz, and sharpe aren’t bad, neither was bahe towards the end.
