No I call bs. They gained the hype when they got to be 4-0 and then playing Iowa State and then playing TCU. If I remember correctly they were ranked when they versed Iowa State.

It will always need both. Bc you can coach all day long but if you dont have enough talent then you can only get so far. You would think with all the hype that Kansas got with winning and being ranked that the recruiting class would be better then what it is. That just tells me 2 things that recruits may not care about Kansas football or Kansas doesn't necessarily believe in getting better recruits and we will coach them up.

Right but we lost. The results of those games speak for themselves bc SF and Erik Chinander are gone.

I don't think anyone here doesn't think he can't coach but when it comes to competing against not ranked teams but elite ranked teams how does your team stack up? Illinois is doing great this year being 6-1 but in no way do I think they can or would beat Ohio State or Alabama or Georgia. Good coaches just not enough talent to compete when it comes down to it.

Me too!!! Iowa State right now is 3-4 and I'm glad his name is cooling off. Nebraska media needs to cool off his name too!

First off wow 285 pages and counting!!! Anybody think we will get to 350 pages before we get a coached hired? Second I swear their were numerous people on the message boards that said Chris Peterson isnt giving up his gig on tv. Now more and more people have mentioned his name more frequently. I think if we don't hire Mickey he would be a great candidate to hire.

Man these radio announcers on 1620 are blasting people who have the notion that Matt Campbell isn't good enough to coach here. They said that even if he(Matt) goes 7-5 at Iowa State, Nebraska should take him in a heartbeat.

Im with you on Nebraska basketball. I started this topic bc I care for Nebraska athletic's and want every sport to succeed. Yes Nebraska has always been a football/volleyball school and I thank you for your input. Darian DeVries is really good name that I would definitely take.

What rankings did you use bc I specifically used 247 rankings and at no time did Scott Frost ever have a top 15 recruiting class.

Yes coaches can recruit here but which not many coaches can constantly recruit top 15 classes here. Well not Leipold or Campbell in my book. Good developers but not elite recruiters as coaches.

Well it doesn't help that Baker Mayfield as a nfl qb isn't that good. He shouldn't have been drafted number one. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are way better qb's.

What I learned from this game is that Nebraska isnt good nor bad just average. Also I learned to take one game at a time. I don't have any expectations.

No but it sure is easier to get in the homes of high star kids bc they know who you are. If Urban Meyer goes into a 4 star kids home versus Matt Campbell 9/10 that kid will pick Urban bc Matt Campbell can tell kids he can get them to the NFL(Breece Hall) but very few and far in between. The body of work is night and day.

So who is the leading candidate rn for the permanent head coaching job at Nebraska? Nobody really knows imho I'd say MJ but even I could be wrong on that or is there any candidates at all and Nebraska hasn't really even identified who they want?? Keep winning MJ and we as Husker Fans will be in for the ride.

Throwing money at a head coach doesn't guarantee championships but what it does guarantee you is national relevancy. Texas A&M is talked about bc of Jimbo Fisher. They had the number 1 recruiting class in the nation. Not Alabama, Not Clemson, Not USC good old Texas A&M. So lets say Urban gets 11 million from Nebraska yes we would expect championships but we would be national known with recruits bc of Urban Meyer. There is a lot of pressure to win when you give a coach that much. But look at the results those programs are better bc of it.
