Very well put about Coach Gill...Turner Gill is a great man. Like you he's not my first choice but if he did get the job I would not be worried about the state of Nebraska football or how it's being represented one bit.

What Callahan is doing right now?!?!? I'm sure he's packed up and headed outta Lincoln by now....I'm just wondering where he's headed and what his plans are. I know I know some people are going to say "Who the hell cares????" But I just think it's interesting to think about. Where will the "Offensive Genius" end up next?!?!?!

This coaching search is killing me.......I'm on pins and needles waiting for the new coach to be named. I get back from class and get right on here and espn.com to see if anything has happened. The rumors are killing me, I don't know what to believe anymore. I WANT THE COACH NAMED NOW!!!!!!!! PLEASE COACH OSBORNE RELEASE US ALL FROM THE PAIN AND AGONY OF WAITING AND SPECULATING AND NAME THE COACH SOON!!!! But geez am I sure glad that Callahan and Co. are gone..........So I guess this waiting is worth it....

Richt is a helluva coach....That move against Florida was priceless and a great piece of coaching....a little over the top? yes....a little busch league? possibly....but he told his players that if they were gonna have a shot at beating Florida they had to come out with intensity and make a statement on their first drive.....I think thats the kinda of intensity, desire, and motivation that Nebraska needs right now. I understand it rubbed people the wrong way but it set a tone for the rest of the game and Georgia did win.

I know I know yet another rumor..... It's all hearsay so take this for what it's worth. My old high school football coach is currently on the Cincinnati coaching staff under Brian Kelly and according to his daughter who is my age (and who i used to date...stupid huh, coaches daughter...anyways) Brian Kelly called a team meeting monday to let the players and coach's know that he was contacted about the Nebraska job. He has not interviewed or didnt say if he was planning to or was scheduling one. He just stated that he had been contacted and wanted to clear the air before rumors started flying, such as this one.

Will it take ALOT of work to fix this situation??? Yes definitely.... But, If anyone can fix this situation Dr. Tom Osborne can.... Has Dr. Tom ever done us wrong?

I just got done watching youtube highlights of the 95 team and it kinda hit me that those days were soooooooo long ago. I know all the tradition and everything has helped the program immensely by recruiting and facilities and things like that. My question is after 5 years how much damage have callahan and all his cronies done to this program? We are losing recruits left and right and support from alot of people. Does anyone think that this program is gonna take a long long time to rebuild and possibly never get back to the point it was? My opinion is that the damage callahan has done has been tremendous and its gonna take a special coach to come in and turn around everything that has gone wrong and truly....

Great article.... I am as excited as anyone for the Joey Ganz era to begin cause that SOB earned his shot. But with that being said I hurt for Sam Keller. The man was as fiery as it got and in my eyes was a true Husker through and through. I would of loved to have him around for more than just one year. Good Luck Sam!!! You are a bada$$ and I can't wait to see you play on Sundays.

I think some people are so high on Gill because he has very strong Nebraska ties. Everyone seems to want to get someone that knows about Nebraska and knows what it's all really about and Gill does so he's everyones top choice. I am not really sold on Gill becoming head coach....I would be all for him coming back though as an offensive coordinator or some type of assistant. I am kind of wary about Pelini because for some reason he doesnt seem like the head coach type of guy to me, but thats just my opinion. I think he's a hell of a coach and if hired I would fully be behind him.

You're crazy... Keller played LIGHTSOUT!! He didnt make any mistakes all game and in my opinion the fumble wasnt his fault, the offensive line let the longhorns through. Yeah i think Ganz looked really good and I am a huge fan of Joe Ganz but hindsight is always 20/20 and there was no reason whatsoever to pull Keller out of the game at any point. Unfortunately Keller is probably done for the year. Looked to me to be a broken left collarbone the way he was holding his arm and how they wrapped it up on the sideline. Pure speculation though, cause i really hope he's not done for the year. If Keller is out I have full faith in Ganz though, so at least there is no worries there.

Exactly, At least we are competeing again.... The talent is there!!!!!!!!!!!! The coaching just has to change, I have faith that with a coaching change this team has the talent to get back on top ASAP and no rebuilding will be nessecary.

Great job guys!!!! The team went out and played their a$$es off and they deserve congrats. But, it just shows me how much talent the team has and how its not being utilized well. The defense played well but is still just terrible. We can't stop the run at all!! Callahans play calling is a joke. Playing not to lose instead of playing to win. He needs to go soon. I just really hope that the team plays like they did today for the rest of the season. Oh and give some props to Marlon Lucky. He has gotten lost in all of this mess but the guy is a stud and plays hard.

Unfortunately due to a long day of chopping wood in the middle of nowhere I was unable to listen to the game so I have a few questions after coming home and seeing another a$$ kicking put on the Huskers... Is A&M actually that better than us?!?! I thought Coach Fran was as bad if not worse than Callahan. The offense really do nothing?? I saw that we ran the ball barely any. Was that because we were behind the entire time? I assume the defense was terrible again. I saw Mckeon had 14 or so tackles, has he figured it out and actually playing now? Do the players look like they just don't care at all anymore and are ready for this whole season to be over? Any emotion at all from anyone???? How did Callahan look on the sidelines? Bamboozled as always I'm sure... I saw another thread on this sight saying that the coaches might be coaching to lose....whata think after this game? I just hope that Dr. Tom gets rid of Callahan and his ENTIRE staff ASAP!!! GO BIG RED!!! I just want a winning season at this point, all other goals are lost.

I'm probably wwwwway outta the loop here, but I'm just wondering if the game this Saturday is going to be nationally televised. I remember reading somewhere that it is, but I cant remember for sure. Being in Ohio I really hope it is....Can anyone give me the information???

As hard as it was to watch I will never ever turn off a Husker game. Yeah the loss was very dissapointing and hurt alot more than I can remember any other losses have in recent memory. But ya know what, the sun came up the next day and there is still alot of football left to play. So here to all you real Cornhusker fans..... For better or for worse I will always be a Cornhusker!!!

Laying in bed last night still in agony over the USC game I realized that its time to move forward. It's Monday everyone, time to go back to work. The USC game is in the past and although it could have been a huge win for the program it was not the last game of the season. There is no reason to dwell on what could have been. It's time for everyone to move their focus onto Ball State and what kind of talent they have. I hope that the players and coaches have put all of this behind them and are ready to move forward. Ball State has been known to give big programs scares in the past couple of years (i.e. Michigan). We all need to put the USC behind us and focus on September 22nd. I for one and ready to move on from September 15th and get excited over the 9 regular season games that are still left. Everyone needs to remember that our goals are still intact. Win out the rest of the way. Win the Big 12 North. Win the Big 12 title. Play in a BCS game. They are still all there. And who knows, with the way Oklahoma is beating everyone this year if we knock them off in the title game we could meet USC again..............and I would love that. I STILL BELIEVE IN THIS TEAM!!

I was pretty upset at the end of the game but when I really thought about it I just realized that football is a very complex and funny sport when it comes down to it. It's all about momentum, and when that USC player was down on the field for 15 minutes it stopped all of ours. All I can say about that kickoff which was fumbled and returned into our terrioty is "thats football". I am very dissapointed in the defense though. I was hoping to see more outta Mckeon. He seemed slow and sometimes scared out there. Octavien was the only LB I really saw show up to play. And hell if we woulda tackled it would have been a completely different game.....sometimes all it comes down to is the basics. But in the big scheme of things all I can ask the Nebraska football team is to be competitive. They never gave up and kept fighting. Sam Keller is great and Purify is almost unstoppable. And how great was it to see Glenn out there running like he used to?!?!? The season is not over and this team is going to do great things, I can feel it. Bring on Ball State!!! GO BIG RED!!!

This is some of the best news I've heard in awhile.....Now I just hope he's learned his lesson.

Tough break for Bowman...I feel horrible for him and was really excited to get to see him come back and show off his skills...Thank God it's only March though....Right now I am just hoping he can get back for early part of the season...But my no means does this make or break the season though. I think we beat USC but stumble someplace else... I think we can handle USC at home and the players will be amped for that game....I think 10-2 or 11-1 is attainable and something the fans should expect going into Cally's 5th season with all the talent in the world. All the old option players should be gone now and these are truly this systems players. I have supported Cally even through the terrible USC game and after this bowl loss but anything more than the Big 12 title and a BCS bowl is unacceptable now. GO HUSKERS!!! I will miss you Zac!!!! Yeah I agree, being from Ohio and herby being a buckeye I have always kinda liked him but to watch him whine like a little girl was pathetic. He acts like the football played before 2000 cant compare to the teams nowadays. I agree the USC team was good and the 05 Texas team was good but c'mon lets be honest, without vince young texas wouldnt of won and USC's defense wasnt that great last year to contain him. Anyways, herbys a punk and i dont understand how he went from all about nebraska after the alamo bowl to hating them now. I think Mark May has brain washed him.
