  1. Deion and FSU aren't all that tight. He's not a lock to take that job if they offer from what I hear He interviewed for TCU last year and I'd be surprised if there's not a lot of buzz for him at ASU. Same type of job (big metro, good weather, undervalued brand)
  2. That's the extent of it unless you're a monken guy.
  3. I hope the sellout streak dies and it's never mentioned again. Just focus on winning, the present, and the future.
  4. I literally linked to their website. Parker, CSA, and Eastman are the three I know of that are solid. Most ADs with experience just do it themselves and use independent guys they contract to conduct the searches. To keep a hire like that a complete secret in the current media market is a massive accomplishment. Not only that, but they have the blueprint to do so. To your second point, it's also not like OU was a poverty program. Dude had it relatively made there and could have flirted with other jobs to get his way, which is what these guys typically do. ADs/Media guys all agree that it was a huge deal, especially in the way it went down. Hindsight is 20/20 but at the time it had as much basis as Lane Kiffin to NU, for example.
  5. Nebraska's working with the same search firm that helped USC land Lincoln Riley, FYI Scroll down to see some of their other placements. Lot of good names. Also pretty promising that none of the ADs placed oversee any head coaches we'd be looking to hire. https://collegiatesportsassociates.com/previous-placements/
  6. The NIL kicker is interesting. Have to wonder if pricing that in for 15 years throws a blanket on the athlete compensation initiative Kevin Warren and Gene Smith have floated
  7. This guy is a mad scientist. Him or Leonhard please.
  8. None of these rumors have any basis. I’d like to congratulate this guy on accomplishing his task of getting clicks and views out of a fanbase desperate for developments.
  9. Jim Leonhard baby. Dude is a hall of fame coach waiting for his first job. My favorite candidate this cycle. The guy has “it”. Elite teaching and developmental skills, young and extremely hungry for success, an X’s and O’s wizard, and always has his guys ready prepared. All the traits you saw with Stoops.
  10. When you have the power to ban weed and gambling it’s easy to whitewash your moral character
  11. You guys love throwing these massive assumptions out there with zero comps. This has never happened. Nobody has ever had a transfer class comprised of 40 blue chip prospects. None of this has any basis in reality.
  12. Aside from your fuzzy feelings about the program I don’t really know how that’s true. Would love to hear a case that Nebraska is this unique program that has to win and lose differently than the other 130 FBS programs
  13. Not sure I agree with you. Chadwell is the only person I've even seen mentioned that runs a unique scheme and I don't think he's going to be coaching at Nebraska. There was a small run on hiring out of the Briles tree (Dino Babers, Sean Lewis, Montgomery at Tulsa) and Briles was part of a run out of the Leach tree but Nebraska's never really gone after scheme in hiring. You can make the argument that Riley was a scheme hire but I don't think that's a very strong argument given the conflicts with Bo weren't based on offensive scheme. Not like the perimeter west coast was novel. I do agree with your point about Nebraska being design-build, so let's take a look at the design-builders on the market. These are guys who've elevated poor programs steadily and consistently. Most have done it more than once. A lot of these guys have had their names tossed out there: - Matt Rhule (Temple, Baylor) - Bill O'Brien (Penn State) - Matt Campbell (Toledo, ISU) - Lance Leipold (Buffalo, KU(?)) - PJ Fleck (WMU, Minnesota) - Chris Petersen (Boise, UW) - Chip Kelly (Oregon - with $ome help) - Dan Mullen (Miss State) - Lane Kiffin (FAU, Miss) - Mark Stoops (UK) - Bob Stoops (OU) - Mike Leach (TT, Wazzu) - Bill Snyder (KSU) - Mike Gundy (OSU) - Pat Narduzzi (Pitt) Most of these guys are great teachers and good schemers who steadily improved the quality of the product. A few of these guys are promoters who brought in fans and improved the brand (Fleck and Kiffin, Gundy to some extent). Nebraska needs the former, obviously the brand is all that's left. Outside of these names, most of them worked under a great coach themselves as a younger coordinator. Very few, if any were established P5 coaches when they arrived at their last stops. Leach and Petersen being the two best examples. A lot of people are overlooking Jim Leonhard here but I see a ton of Bob Stoops in him and I think he's got the elite teaching skills which show up in his development and on the field every week. Probably the best DC in the country and possibly one of the best true coordinators. Look at Aranda, not only are there real ties between the two but watch an Aranda coaching clinic, the guy is a college professor. Same goes for Pete Golding but I don't see him getting a real look. Fantastic teacher. Muschamp has that same teaching ability but wasn't a great CEO.
  14. You're telling me the thing that just happened might happen again?? I don't see it. Jacksonville is a losing program. We've got 5 national titles
  15. Doubt it. Don’t bother looking it up though
  16. Crunching the numbers.. this guy hasn’t lost a college game in four years?? Maybe we should give him a look??? just my two cents
  17. If we're defining these guys by single-game results what should we make of these? Clemson 31 - Ohio State 0 Iowa 55 - Ohio State 24 Purdue 49 - Ohio State 20 Maybe these don't fall on urban since some think Schiano was handling a lot of the day-to-day during his last few years.
  18. If what epley did was still cutting edge we wouldn't be looking for a coach
  19. After about the third one-score loss you start to find humor in the consistently unique ways misery presents itself
  20. Feldman is pretty reliable. Shouldn't be breaking news that there's been discussion with any of these guys. Pretty important to note that the headline is clear in stating that there are others on the list. I'd still say plus odds the next coach is one of these three.
  21. 5-6 going into that game is a very real possibility for them
  22. Watch a coaching clinic, look at the stats, watch his guys on sundays. It's not even a sure thing that he wants to be in the profession. If he wanted it and had the juice he'll take the ASU job, if not, we'll know. It's further from a sure thing that he can coach his way through adversity since he couldn't even make it a season in the only other losing culture that's tested him. Anyone on the market that has is more a sure thing, imo.
