  1. Ok - Not to be an :asshat , but tell that to Bob Stoops and Pete Carrol... Not to be an :asshat But those coaches did not have to REVAMP and entire Football Program, state culture, or opinions of evey person around him. BC has taken a Bull and turned it into a Viper. Stoops and Carrol are great coaches .... but it was handed over to them in alot easier fasion then what Cally was given. He is winning the hearts of the people in Nebraska and that was the hardest part!!! I am lisening to the radio right now and he just said " Hell, throw bricks at my house all you want, It was my fault" That is a coach who puts himself in front of his players and shields them from the sh#t storm that the media constanly lays on them Those are the coaches that turn ordinary players into GREAT PLAYER GBR!!!
  2. I believe in what you say to a point ...l but Grix is a damn scrappy player and he does the best he damn well can .... and the coaches know that he is the best man for the spot ... THE BOTTOM LINE IS.... YOU CAN'T COACH A PLAYER TO BE TALL!
  3. With the penetration that their Defensive ends got it is very hard to run the variety of "trick plays" that Cally likes to run. Look at how much trouble ZT had with JUST PASSING the ball .... for trick plays to happen you need AT LEAST a little bit of time. I know Cally is going to study this film VERY carefuly because every single weakness that we had .... OU capilitsed on them. We will be a better team after this loss .... this I promiss you! GBR!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I want to say a few things I saw one of our posters write that we were " Out played - Out Coached" I think that there is some validity to that but there is definetly two sides to the story. One, as a team we beat the living hell out of OUR OWN SELVES!!! We made careless mistakes and almost 95% of them where on the offensive side. OU capitalised on our mistakes .... PLAIN AND SIMPLE! We had more then enough opporitunity to score and we did not capitlalise on any of them. I don't think that the play calling was bad AT ALL!!! I think that the players are going to have a very long SILENT drive on the way home ... and anyone who has ever had a game like this knows "the bus ride" I am talking about. Our D went in there to Defend against a great running offense, Props to OU and their passing game that came out and gave a performace that I did not see coming at all. The QB did some on the run passes that where rivaling that of some NFL QBs. As far as ZT goes ..... I have the so much respect for what he has done for the program in his time here. THANK YOU ZAC! It is a shame that the game where he really wanted to perform, was one of his worst performaces. He will always be remember as a QB who lead a team with passion and strenght. He took a role that no one else wanted ... to transform our offense into something new ....... AND HE DID IT!!! Even though the the Big XII was lost .... Zac did what he was suppose to do ..... and you can ask nothing less of of a team leader and a great QB. I believe that we will go into our bowl game very strong and that will carry us into next year ... Husker faithful carry on with pride ... weather you believe it or not ... we are on the rise!!! Cally's system is working!!! Rome was not built in 4 seasons!!! GBR!!!
  5. Great beard of Zeus, these people are on acid! Some really good acid! I mean seriously, they lost 30-3 last year .... and their team is worse then EVER! Oh and if I hear 62-36 one more time I am gonna loose it .... it was HALF A DECADE AGO!!! CU is like the uncle in Nepoleon Dynamite .... he had one day of coolness and he tries to re-create it every day of his life. I even bet there is some poor sCUm fan that has 62-36 tattood on his/her arm! Here is the bottom line sCUm ... You have no offense My sisters curling team has more motivation then your defense. You have a really great kicker (Just so you know you have to not go 3 and out to actually make him useful) Your special teams are well...... "special" that is for sure Have fun with the drive home on Saturday!
  6. Very well thought out arguement and a HUGE slap in the face to KSU. These are the type of fans the make great college football discussions happen.
  7. http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2006/TQ...ay_Question.htm Good for Rodgers, I was a little surprised that Frazier was not on there.
  8. Colorado will have the toughest non-conference schedule every year. Check out this year's slate: Colorado State in Denver. Arizona State. At Georgia. This is total BS. I can think of many schools that have to play much harder scheduals .... including the Big Red. Hell we are playing both teams that played for the National Championship, what more do we have to do?
  9. Yea and they are either on dreaming or on drugs .. one of the two.
  10. God, if we get a game this year that is even close to either of those "Games of the Century" I will probably be one of 86,000 the happiest people on earth, the NU vs OU games of that calibur don't come around that often. Truely a treat!
  11. I think it would be a fantasic game. A good look back at the old days. It also would be a great chance for Nebraska to cap off the regular season, seeing as how I have Adrian Peterson winning the Heisman this year. If the Big Red could pull off beating OU we might have a shot at the title .... this i a HUGE maybe and i can't stress that HUGE enough. I know that most of the fans on the board have crimson shades on right now .... but we have a schedual ahead of us that is not easy ... and injuries ... blah blah blah ... I think our boys in Red are going to give everything that they have this year ... only time will tell if it will pay off. But make no mistake the WC offense is working at NU and the people/recruites are REALY starting to notice. GBR!!!
  12. I believe it was to show that people win / runner up for the heisman have certain numbers in common. It really does not take a rocket scientist to know that QB / RB normaly recieve the award and most QBs have #s around each other. Ever seen a college QB with the #78 ... lol ... i never have.
  13. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.....asp?CID=552219 Good choices and a nice article of Heisman Trophy winners. Touchdown Tommy is the only one in the article with a picutre either. Johnny Rodgers is also mentioned. GBR!!!
  14. Good to see that you are looking on the up side of things.
  15. I deploy for the "big sand box" in July as well. The Husker Nation has always prayed for its troops and cheered when they came home. I feel so bad for you Husker Rob though .... you have to miss the whole season ( that is if your deployment is like ours ) at least I will be able to see Colorado. If anyone knows where we can get a live up link ... or anything like that from the media center at UNL that would be awsome GBR!!!
  16. I agree ... i like rivals more as well.
  17. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.....asp?CID=549468 Great Article! Matt is a great guy and a class act!
  18. I have seen and played against some of the great talent that Millard North has produced over the last few years and it is almost garenteed that MN pumps out at least 3 D-I recruites per year . Knowing that the past few years many of their star players have all gone to Iowa. I think that the university of Iowa football program has a mind control machine over coach patito. Every QB that they have had for the last 4 years has gone to Iowa. And their line is normaly very solid since they run an option offense. I would like to see BC get some more players out of there .... the only problem with that is ... they still run the "old style" Nebraska option game and so do alot of the High schools in Nebraska. I know old habits die hard but until the HS coaches in NE start moving to more a WC offense it is going to be harder for us to get in state recruites on offense. GBR P.S. Before I get bashed for what I said ... that does not mean that NE does not push out good WC football players ... i.e. Nate Swift, Niles Paul, etc...
  19. Damn Foppa tell us how you really feel.
  20. 5 lbs!!! 5 lbs!!! For a college kid .... OMG that is alot of mary jane. First off id like to know how he paid for all of that. As far as football goes ... Texas has great running backs coming out of its ears ... hell we have one of them .... I do not think that this loss will effect their team very much.
  21. I don't think swift was given enough credit in the prediction. I mean he was our best reciever last year.
