  1. You mean Buffs fans actually have a msg board and they can read and write?!?! Wonders never cease...
  2. At a time the students did sit behind the bench. They used to sit beside the band. I think that changed in the mid ninties. I was talking to my uncle today, and he said the student section used to be huge, but under the Byrne admin. it got smaller and smaller. Is this true? It does seem smaller now than it was. The students were notorious for buying season tickets and scalping them for laundry and Pizza $$$. For awhile there back in the 80's, they didn't sell out the student allotment. That changed in mid nineties when we started winning NCs. I think thats why they moved them and made the section somewhat smaller.
  3. He needs to drop her now. IF she aint a big enuff Husker fan that she doesn't have to be in front of a screen somewhere even on a date... I question her values and integrity...j/k

  5. I will agree the sea of red is nowhere as loud as some places. Kinda depends on the flow of the game. I remember back in the day the OU games would be the loudest. What gets me is how you must sit on your hands at NU games. You are not allowed to stand or someone will tell you to sit down in a lot of sections. At A&M and other places they never sit down all game.
  6. Sometimes I go to soonerfan.com but not to flame. I can get good info there and they seem to be pretty intellegent there. Boy do they hate Callahan thou...
  7. Lot of ifs... KU cannot afford to turn the ball over like they have so far. Gotta disagree with NU's run defense. NU is giving up what some 115 (not sure on that) yds a game? Thats not all that bad. Most of this was USC and last time I checked... KU was no USC. I do likes KU's abilility to stop the run though. No one has rushed for a hundy on them for 17 games now. NU will need the pass to open up the run some IMO. I think Zac will get er done thou. Depends on Cally... we never know what he will do in terms of game plan. Yes KU has a lockdown corner but the other is a freshman. Although the youngster has played very well... lets see how he responds to all the motion and shifts we have in store for them. They also haven't faced anyone like Zac Taylor and the slew of recievers NU has so far. KU has a QB problem. Meier is iffy and has thrown 7 ints already. Barmann is a big ole target for NU's front as he doesn't move very well. KU is having problems putting points on the board and they will find out that the Blackshirts are much improved since the last time they seen them. I just don't see KU getting very many points on the board. We aren't So. Fla. It will be the Blackshirts out there who are looking to make amends for the mistake plaqued effort of last yr. If Callahan keeps them offbalance by mixing it up early and often... another Big Red scoring explosion occurs. 42-6 NU.
  8. Per Sean Callahan on Thursday... Glenn "tweaked" his hammie last wed. He didn't practice until this week on wed. Before Troy game he tested it and said it was still bothering him. He did however during the game want to play at a point. Coach Jordan held him out anyway. It was Glenn's decision before the game not to play initially. When he did return to practice, coach Jordan teased him about being missing in action since last Wed. So he is ready to go this weekend and probably found out you can't go T.O. like with coach Jordan cause you may not play.
  9. Danny Woodhead was Nebraska athlete of the yr his Sr. yr. He led the state in rushing. Broke records. Was one of the fastest guys in track (Took state gold one yr in the 100 meters) until he decided to play soccer his sr. yr and then he starred in that. Led the state in scoring his sr yr in basketball. Scored like 23 TDs his frosh yr at Chadron. I couldn't believe NU offered Grixby (who by the way is smaller) his jr yr in HS while they felt Danny was too small. Since then he has added 10 lbs or so and is around 200lbs. He is much stronger than people think and doesn't go down as easy as ppl may think. You would be surprised watching him in person run. He may win the Harlan Hill award (Heisman equivalent) for his division. Barry Sanders was about his size in college... There is no doubt in my mind this young man could have played division I football. Schools missed the boat on this one...
  10. I'm thinking if Adam shows the pros good speed (cause they like DEs strong and quick in the NFL) he will stck there. Otherwise he'll need another 10 lbs to handle interior pro linemen for 60 minutes. OL in the NFL are getting bigger and bigger. Adam will need to go over 300-310 to be real effective to play DT. You just don't see em under that much anymore. Not in the NFL and starting.
  11. The saying "Defenses win championships", apply more to the pros than in the NFL IMO. I will say this though. You usually don't get to the championship without a good defense in both pro and college. So I like to think ... Good defense helps put you in position to win championships. One thing for certain... In our case we need to put more points up on the board than what we've seen in the last few yrs.
  12. There were so many sacks last yr (I heard or read 37 somewhere), there was plenty of blame to go around. Sometimes I felt Zac held on the ball too long. Also some times you could point at play calling. Also felt our receivers ran some funky routes at times. We also had problems with blitzes at times especially on the overload blitzes which are so pop with teams these days. Left tackle was a inconsistant spot all season as well. Its pretty plain we have a lot of work to do in this phase of the game to improve this situation.
  13. Kinda hard to say what will happen that day. Its too early yet. Too much can happen on both teams by the time they meet. I tend to use guarded optimism about the 06 Huskers. CU and Mich bowl game are lasting impressions but so were the KU and Mizzou games. Consistancy will be the key. Get er done on the road (ever notice NU fares poorly the earlier the start time on game day? Always bet the NU opponents vs the spread if the game starts at noon or earlier especially on the road. Go with them vs the spread if its a night game.) and win the ones you should especially at home. We do that and its see you in the CC game.
  14. Did you know that Keith has always claimed he has never in his career actually use the phase "Whoa Nellie!"? Roy Firestone was said to have coined the phase while imatating him.
  15. #16?.... Hmmmmmm... lose 4 games and you most likely be around 20 or so. Lets see... we were 8-4 last yr and we were ranked where?
