  1. ^ ^ ^ I can get on board with that.
  2. What 8 leagues? You're saying winning the AAC or MAC is worth more than 11-1 Alabama, etc?
  3. There shouldn't be footage. The archived shots run several minutes behind, and the live shots are about an hour behind. It was discussed that the feed was cut immediately.
  4. Good comments and he has a LOT more info than we have about Bo. I can't help but wonder what a HEALTHY team would have done this year. He was in a tough spot, and I think he handled it pretty well.
  5. Yeah, 4 stories. They've shut the webcams down. Truly a tragedy. He was probably working on demoing the ramps.
  6. That's why there is a selection committee. Even with 4, there is no gaurantee that #s 1-4 are in. It's not automatic. If we get to 8, I hope the ACC, SEC, B1G, Pac12, and Big Dumpster Fire get their champ in, with the committee selecting final 3. Don't just go with rankings, as we have discussed, can be prone to human biases. And for this... If OSU BARELY squeaks by what? #12 MSU and Auburn trounces #5 Mizzou, an argument COULD be made. Especially when you look at schedules. Not saying it's right or wrong, but it's not as clear as one would think.
  7. Argue with this, I dare you... http://www.outkickthecoverage.com/the-ten-dumbest-fan-bases-in-america-1-the-alabama-crimson-tide.php
  8. I agree with knapp. A&M is holding through to its commitment to a HS player who suffered a back injury. I lose respect for teams who pull schollys if a player is bad or suffered a career ending injury.
  9. MAv, that's my hope. 8 Teams gets the "AQ" conf champs in and allows for 3 at-large bids. Nothing is perfect, but that's dang close in my book.
  10. I'm not a true Husker But I do have a half-Husker!!
  11. I think there's validity to both sides at the end of the season, of teams ranked in the top 25, for arguments sake, lets include CCG: OSU has beaten: #21 Wisconsin and #10 MSU. Thay have lost to nobody Auburn has beaten: #24 Texas A&M, #22 Georgia, #5 Missouri and #1 Alabama. They have lost to #15 LSU Florida State has beaten: #13 Clemson and #20 Duke. They have lost to nobody. Auburn is worse because of the loss, but better because of their wins. FSU and OSU are worse because of their wins (similar, although FSU has a marginally worse SOS) and better because they are undefeated. In the end, although I think Auburn deserves a shot at the BCS, I can understand why they could be left out. If I REALLY wanted to be sure an SEC school was in, I would have been rooting for Bama. It's an imperfect system that a 4 team playoff helps, but an 8 team playoff would. IMHO, be almost perfect.
  12. If you are looking at Auburn, besides Alabama, who have they beat this year that was a really good football team. I'm guessing that you will bring up Texas A&M, and they are good, but not elite this year. The only other ranked teams that they have beat are Georgia and Ole Miss(was ranked at that time) and those teams aren't that good this year. Auburn has had one really good win, Alabama. I'm not taking anything away from that win, but it's hard to say that they are that much better than Ohio State because, IMO, Auburn hasn't had an impossible schedule this year either. And if they win this weekend, that's TWO Top 5 teams they've beaten.
  13. That's why I like 8. It's enough that BOTH the people who want Conf Champions AND the people who want "at large" will get their say. If you win your conference, you're in, and if you don't but still have a great season, you're also in. It would solve this year's dilemma for sure of OSU/FSU/Auburn. It's a long time coming. I REALLY hope that the 4 team moves to 8, and I think it will.
  14. Well, Arkansas sees LSU as their BIG rival. That's their one team. Just like Mich-OSU. So, yes they have a "worse" loss But they also have better wins...and better wins RECENTLY. The loss was WAY early in the season.
  15. So, basically on that argument, both will be the same....FSU with wins over Clemson and Duke OSU with wins over Wisky and MSU. Not a great argument for either team, but neither is Auburn losing a game...even if they have (and if they win this weekend) will have had markedly better wins than those programs this year.
  16. Woody, I agree with you. Completely. I am just using the rankings for evidence of who FSU beat for a "quality win" vs OSU's lack of quality win. I think this year is just another reason why we need a playoff.
  17. Well, they beat Georgia when Georgia was HEALTHY, and has only lost 1 game in conference. Their other two losses coming to Top 10 teams. Whether you think they are good or not, they have a top 15 ranking. They're as "good" as Michigan State is. That's why I said "thus far" Now, if/when y'all beat MSU, especially if you throttle them, then that puts OSU on equal footing with FSU, at least as far as the "quality wins" argument goes.
  18. That being said, BOY do I wish we had that playoff this year!
  19. Then FSU doesn't either. FSU beat Clemson. By a lot. OSU over MSt won't be as impressive, but it will AT LEAST give them a quality win. Personally, based on who they beat, (and when it happened) I still think Auburn has had a better season than OSU. (thus far)
  20. Not if they haven't played the right teams. I think I saw Auburn has a SOS of 16. OSU was 80. So, Auburn played better teams.
  21. That was over 2 months ago and they are playing exceptional football against high level competition RIGHT NOW.
  22. Well, I may need to revise my prediction. According to CBS projected BCS standings, Auburn still has a lot of ground to make up. I guess we will see!
