  1. Guys, nobody lost this game any more than Adam Carriker lost the Tech game last year. It was a great effort.....don't hate.
  2. Wow, I have to say, this is pretty exciting. But man..........
  3. You're kiddin' me? This isn't being covered in CA? WTF, guys?
  4. What happened to Lucky, btw? Announcers never talked about his injury.
  5. Yeah, really. There was that one time where Zac called a timeout with a really baffled expression on his face, looked almost ticked off. I thought "It's another run play." And it was. Well, almost every play at that point was a run play, so probably just a coincidence. ZT is a great QB, accurate passer, good arm. We should have used that more instead of tried to run in the 3rd quarter! and we should've done a two-minute drill. Oh well, though, here's to our next game! Let's beat THOSE trojans.
  6. I agree. USC is a good team, you gotta give them credit. They were FAST on defense. It was amazing how we ran into a wall every time we tried running outside. We failed to establish a reliable running game, but we kept running anyway. I'm not so sure our gameplan was effective. There was that drive where we consistently burned them with the deep ball; Matt Herian just basically ran by the corner and was wide open near the end zone. Why didn't we try the vertical pass game more? Our persistence in running was a little baffling - it was getting us nowhere. Also, our short dumpoffs were getting us nowhere for the most part, as well. USC is too fast to get beat by screens; their secondary was the weakness and we didn't look to try to torch them. When I think we could have. I mean, even our punter burned them once. D did a good job on Booty, as the announcers said, threw off their execution. But sometimes we didn't finish the job; when Booty fumbled, we didn't kill the play and they got a first down. Some of those broken passes could've been intercepted. They really killed us with those short swing catch-and-runs, and our secondary fared predictably. At the end, though, their running backs where just not being tackled. It was like we lost all heart in playing seriously. By the way, in half-related news, OU got SCREWED. I mean they really got shafted.
  7. Davie is probably just a bitter, bitter man. Every time he sees a group of players in red uniforms, he probably crawls to a fetal position and weeps.
  8. SI's 10 storylines for this weekend: Including! - Will CU's "demise" continue? "Very good chance " for an 0-5 start. - Will TTech spoil TCU's nation's longest winning streak? - Iowa v Iowa State - Sooners D vs Oregon And the Number One Storyline of the Week: Dwayne Jarrett vs. Andre Jones! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi...content.10.html
  9. You know, I do miss the option a lot. I don't blame him for saying that, but whatever, I still support the team we've got now. One thing that's curious though. Back when we were running the option in '01 and '02 and '03, people were all "so predictable", "one dimensional", "obsolete." Now that we're running the west-coast passing offense, all the craze is on the "new concept of mobile QBs." And how flashy and exciting running quarterbacks are. I mean, wtf? There is no justice in this world!
  10. That really blows. Mann is the bastion of our o-line. Let's hope we can keep all the cogs running and Zac on his feet without him.
  11. All I know is, a lot of guys will be attacking Booty all night long, and they won't be Trojan men.
  12. SC players can't possibly believe that we don't have a chance. They may be confident, but they take every game with seriousness - that's how they keep winning. I agree with your second thought. Jones has got to keep these statements out of the national press. Nothing wrong with feeling that way - but it should stay within the team. I get the sense that we're losing focus this week and looking ahead to the hype of the game - and not the actual execution of the football.
  13. Wow. I won? Gosh. I don't think I deserved to. There should be a penalty for people who such make lousy lineup situations >_> So, guys. Any of you want Plummer or Bledsoe? Heh, heh.
  14. Worthy of mention, in Stu Mandel's power rankings this week, he said for Nebraska something along the lines of "Oh, Huskers. Someone should have warned you. Pete Carrol uses opposing players' comments as motivation."
  15. This sounds like cocky trash talk. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad thing - but it might have been foolish for him to say this in the national media. That energy must be focused within. It reminds me somewhat of when Richie Incognito was talking smack about how we were going to pwn a few years ago, only to get embarrased on the field.
  16. Thanks again. Wish you all the best in whoever you're playing this week. Good game last year, by the way. It was really exciting...heartbreaking too, but exciting and fun to watch.
  17. Titchener is just the latest in a long line of wildly successful Husker punters. When Dan Hadenfelt left I was wondering, "Who is this Kyle Larson guy?" Look where he is now. Then suddenly I noticed the radio guys were calling a new name. I thought, "Who the heck is Sam Cook?" (I later found out it's spelled Koch). He only turned out to be one of the best punters we've ever had and a NFL starter already. Give Titchener the benefit of the doubt. He hasn't done poorly. If recent history is any indication, he'll be a legend before he's gone. Give it some time. Jordan Congdon is a solid kicker. He missed a 37-yarder inexplicably this year, but that happens (some said it was due to the effect of the rain) and everything he's shown otherwise has been outstanding. He iced the K-State game for us last year, too. Have some faith in our guys.
  18. Is there a definition of 'homer' I'm not aware of? I've always understood it to mean a hardcore, lifelong fan. I would've thought we were all Husker homers.
  19. No, aweshucks has a valid point. How about NU's DBs? Inexperienced, lack of depth, somewhat untested, and...on occasion at least, short. It's a glaring weakness we shouldn't be afraid of acknowledging...even if it has been acknowledged a lot. Just sayin'. Keep in mind, we can torch their secondary all we like, but if our secondary falls open to them, it's still a lost cause. The focus should not be on how injury depleted they've become, but on how good our DBs can hold up.
  20. What the hell? I'd be weeping a pool of tears if I were a Trojan fan. I mean, wtf? Is that three guys in the secondary so far - both safeties and a corner? That's not including their DT in that 3-4 defense they run. I have to feel for the Trojans. They're really getting it thick with the injuries.
  21. Who is Victory Haines? What position? *shrug* Cool name, though.
