  1. I like the guys on offense that have been mentioned. I'll say entire defense. With so many guys gone from this past defense, it would have been interesting to see what Pelini could have done with them, and how he would have handled it if they didnt respond. I believe he has a lot more raw talent to work with this year. Which will benefit him I think.
  2. Definitely not a knock on Erstad. I like his toughness and believe it wouldnt be a bad idea. There have been a ton of former Husker names thrown in lately. I think they all want to help in some way. But it doesnt mean they would do a great job b/c they wore the jersey. All I'm saying... (And not a knock on Gammons either)
  3. Where things go: Husker football - Husker football forum Coaching rumors - Rumorville forum Other teams - More sports/NCAA/NFL forums Chit chat / jokes / spoofs - Official BS forum Recruiting - Recruiting forum Fellas, it really isn't that difficult. I do not want to this to be misinterpreted. But please get it together before posting a new thread. Keeping info together makes this board organized and easier to follow discussions among similar topics. Please.
  4. It's a good article, but it's already petty much what everyone thinks. Good, bad, or indifferent. There is no right answer, there is no wrong answer. Since Dr. Tom said it was fine, then no biggie. That's all that should matter.
  5. I think everyone wants that. Hopefully it's all implied. The edge for Ganz is game film. Witt, Lee... are the coaches going to dust off HS tapes? With Ganz, you know what he has done in three plus conference games. And you will not see how a QB reacts to a snotbubble hit during the Spring game. That reality will not happen. Edge: Ganz
  6. As for the game, was a snoozer. Two teams that have sluggish offenses, and tough defense. And it still will not determine who the real NC team is. One team snuck in by default of not playing, the other jumped 5 spots because it being Tennessee. joy.
  7. Spent some time in Shreveport (among other places in LA, Miss, Ala) during Katrina setting up Networks for the Red Cross. Shreveport's not bad. At least they have gambling.
  8. Cake - Fashion Nugget - Daria Daria, I won't be soothed over like, Smoothed over like milk, Silk, a bedspread, or a quilt, Icing on a cake, Or a serene translucent lake. Daria, Daria, Daria
  9. It's good to be a Yankee fan. And very cool that Joba is there and having success. Joba is on the cover of ESPN Next IT’S 9:31 A.M. in the off-season, a time when most ballplayers are still deep in REM sleep, but I’m curious to see if Joba Chamberlain lives up to his rep as the King of Text Messaging. So I fire off a quick one to the Yankees’ prize righthander. Four minutes later, the light on my cell phone flickers. It’s Joba, awake and typing, an indefatigable force of thumbs. I text A LOT. About 100-200 a day! Add it to the legend: Chamberlain broke into the big leagues on Aug. 7, faced 67 hitters and sent approximately 7,000 messages before allowing his first earned run. No wonder he’s NEXT. Impressed, I ask him how fast he text messages. Probably faster than I pitch. Continue - see the link
  10. The defense put a ton of pressure on Ganz. If he doesnt move the chains and score TDs, everyone (I assume) knew they couldnt keep the other teams from scoring. That's a lot of weight, man. Even Joe Montana would have felt it & played about the same. Maybe a little better. But my point is that he did pretty damn good, all things considered.
  11. I think if you live outside the great state of Nebraska, you quickly learn that ESPN is not biased against Nebraska. Although there might be a few people that do not like the U. It's not ESPNEB. It's news and they figure out how to put together a show for 30min - Hour. The espn on the web sucks in their reporting department. Big time. I dont care for their writers. But the tele show is fine. Couldnt live without it.
  12. However, some on this group might look more like this
  13. No doubt that game sucked. I would include it in the top 10, but would move it up a few spots higher. That was the game that clinched the demise of Callahan (per Osborne). He knew going in that he needed to win. And KU dropped 76, but could have gotten 90. 8. Oregon St over Cal? That's what happens when you are ranked high during the pre-season and clearly overrated in the first place. 1. Western Mich over Iowa? Should be further down, below Appalachian State, Stanford, and La-Monroe.
  14. Erstad was/is a helluva athlete. He plays all out. Not many players like him. He & his wife donated a cool mil $ a few years ago. At this point though, sounds like names are just being thrown out there though. I think it has a lot to do with the previous disengaging from the athletic department, and former player's separation anxiety.
  15. Maybe he meant mac-n-cheese-d!ck? Frumunda was a good one. As for the actual topic, Osborne said (about the new coach) to be patient and that it will take some time to turn this around. This was directly after the release of BC. So he understands this.
  16. The Big 12 is already has the most potent offenses among all conferences. 7 out of the top 20 scoring teams came from the Big 12 this year. The SEC was second with 4. The Big 12 has solid QBs throughout the conference, with the exception of a couple teams. They will all be back too. And it's a spread attack, read option league. I really believe these teams can move the ball on the SEC teams. They dont see that kind of prolific offense week in and week out (in the SEC). Next year, I agree, will be even better (potentially).
  17. Do the crazy eye thing look... oh wait, he already does that.
  18. I have no bad feelings towards those teams. They got it done. BC & KC are gone because they couldnt.
  19. What does his new boss (TO) think about it? Because it's up to him. If TO leaves it up to Pelini, than it's Bo's choice. I've seen in the past when a current head coach takes a new gig, an interim guy coaches the bowl game. I dont recall a HC getting hired by another school & then stay for the bowl game. It's not a slap in the face to the team he is leaving. The players and staff understand the situation. I think it would show well if Bo says he would like to be there with the players, but he has a new job now and new responsibilites to his new team. And therefor, cannot make it.
  20. Incredible how Ganz will always been the "good, but not good enough" guy, and that someone has to be better. He's the front runner. It's not even close. I dont think the OC was wondering if someone on the bench would be doing better, at the time Ganz was moving the chains, throwing TDs, and putting tons of points on the board. I know I wasnt. He is the reason there is a lot of confidence and optimism about this offense. Just toughen up the D. And that's why Bo was brought in.
  21. Playoff would be the best way to decide a true national championship team. Final 4 matchup. Which is the plus one. I dont care for the top 8, because then your goal is to get to the 8th spot. Also, my logical and common sense thinking the past 10 years has been to begin the season where the teams finish in the rankings. No more guessing.
