  1. I remember playing "chicken" - throwing pocket knives at feet to see who flinched (chicken!)... crazy.
  2. I was looking foward to seeing how he does in the NFL. But if an athlete likes both sports, the $8 mil doesnt take the back seat. That's tempting alright.
  3. I'm not arguing. And I'm not going to. I agree that there is respect for the Huskers and some concern. I dont understand your apples thing. Congrats to your sales manager, and your boss. Have a good day. By the way, it's Addison b!tch!
  4. zoomed in on his ballzac. After 32 clicks and retries, the camera was put down and stolen by.....
  5. or .... it could have been the extra pickles
  6. This past season Wake Forest got it done. Or did they? Their schedule favored them through the first 8 games (7-1) before a good win over Boston College. Then it's a pathetic FSU (W), a decent but not great VaTech (L), etc, etc. There really isnt much separation between teams "ranked" 15 - 40. Nebraska is in that group. We go on the road to play them, and we havent had much success on the road. This below doesnt impress me. But it might for others. 2006 Schedule DATE OPPONENT RESULT/TIME 09/02 Syracuse W 20-10 09/09 Duke W 14-13 09/16 at UConn W 24-13 09/23 at Ole Miss W 27-3 09/30 Liberty W 34-14 10/07 #15 Clemson L 27-17 10/14 at NC State W 25-23 10/28 at UNC W 24-17 11/04 #16 BC W 21-14 11/11 at Florida St W 30-0 11/18 #19 Va Tech L 27-6 11/25 at Maryland W 38-24 12/02 at #23 Ga Tech W 9-6 01/02 vs #6 Louisville L 24-13 2006 ACC Standings ATLANTIC CONF OVERALL Wake Forest 6-2 11-3 Boston College 5-3 10-3 Maryland 5-3 9-4 Clemson 5-3 8-5 Florida State 3-5 7-6 N. 7. Really? Concerned about the WCO and BC's ability? I have never heard that from anyone who is not partial to Nebraska or BC. I thought that was implied. Anyways, no biggie.
  8. Yep... I totally agree with this (bold). He sure took a big hit agaisnt A&M early in that game. And also got crunched as he made the catch against UT for the 2pt conversion. Yah man, he delivers. I concur as well. Before the season started he said he knows ALL the plays and comfortable with them. He scored on the halfback pass against Lucky. The route thing...you got to get open first, then make the catch. Cha-ching! Remember the catch down the sideline against KU???? HUUUUGE. Yah man, I think Swift can ball. Good to hear he's getting some Husker love.
  9. I didnt hear about this until now. Dude is unreal. Alex Gordon Wins Spink Award as Topps/Minor League Player of Year Hit it here to go deep ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Former University of Nebraska All-American and current Kansas City Royals minor leaguer Alex Gordon was honored this week, as he was won the 2006 J.G. Taylor Spink Award as the Topps/Minor League Player of the Year. On his way to the league MVP award, Gordon hit .325 with 111 runs, 39 doubles, 29 homers, 101 RBIs and 22 stolen bases. Gordon is the second Wichita player to win the Spink Award, joining Johnny Damon (1995). Gordon is now part of a group that includes recent Spink winners such as Major League stars Josh Beckett (2001 winner); Eric Chavez (1999); Paul Konerko (1997); Andruw Jones (1996); and Derek Jeter (1994).
  10. I saw this commercial on ESPN last night. Got to admitt, ESPN does have some good comercials.
  11. Yep... and Dr. T.O. had some pretty tough luck as well, until he finally won C'ship and became "THE BEST.. COACH.. EVAH..." Marty wont be that, but it was cool to say "BEST EVAH" (voice changes)
  12. Have a great day as well, and again, welcome!
  13. *** snip It's time to let the players have a piece of the pie. You can't possibly convince me that Charlie Weis is worth more to Notre Dame than Brady Quinn. Kids aren't buying Weis jerseys. They're buying Quinn jerseys. Indeed, a few Florida and Ohio State players complained before the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game that they were being exploited -- and they are. *** snip Why do you need convincing, Mr. "Hot topic aricle guy who knows it's a slow news day in college sports"? The Jersey comparison between player and - a coach? That argument is lame. As for the fellas thinking they are being exploited? Go pump gas and work your way through Junior College and then while you are at it, think back how much fun football is just to played? By the way, the collectors are calling... you havent paid back your tuition yet for the classes you dropped because you quit the job you hate. This dude, this article man is way out there. Focus article man, focus.
  14. It's okay. Stars dont mean anything once you step on the field (after you leave HS). Gotta earn everything all over again at the next level. And then you find out how much bigger everyone is, they are just as fast, and want the playing time just as much. You dont show up as a star with the world owing you everything. Know wha' ah mean?
  15. Sounds like he wasn't even the best qb on his former team. Let's hope he picks up the offense faster than Dailey or Taylor did or it could be a long year. Looking at these stats, I wonder why he was so upset at not starting that he transferred? For every 2 touchdown passes he threw, he threw an interception. Carpenter threw a pic for every 8.5 touchdowns thrown. Carpenter completed 10 percent more of his passes than Keller did. In the Big 12 this year, Keller with those stats would have been 8th for completion percentage and 5th for QB rating. Are we not all maybe expecing a little too much next year? Exaclty my man. (the bold part)
  16. Swift can ball, man. He's proved it already. And this was just his second year. Game in and game out Taylor looked at Nunn & Purify before scrambling back to the line if he felt he couldnt get the ball to them. As for stretching the field, you gotta get 10 yards to move the chains. By the way, where's the arguement for Herian not getting passes all season, or the other TE's in the middle of the field? All I'm saying is Swift gets the job done. Several replays show him open and not even looked at. And I'm confident in Petersen when he comes in as well. Okay that's all.
  17. clear my sinuses. Unfortunately seeing Rosie cost me my vision, my libido, and my appetite. I needed to do something. So I grabbed...
  18. it's good to get to know other fans, you think? Auburn (Here you go War Teddy) Georgia girls FSU foursome More Seminolios Okies South Carolina Game..
  19. Down here in Texas, I hate to say it but there is no fear having to play Nebraska. The only "slight" concern I hear is due to the winning history of Nebraska that will always be in the back of people's minds. The "no fear" has nothing to do with the athletes or the coach, but mostly because the Huskers havent been on the map for over 5 years. There isnt a hint of "they're back" or "on their way". Basically if you are around the top 10 (and this is my perspective) you might as well shuffle around the teams from 15 through 40 because there isnt much separation between them, but there is that separation that you can see when playing a high ranked team. If half want to give Callahan a few more years with hope, that's fine. We shouldnt dog those Husker fans for being "blind". If the other half think that Callahan isnt the one and a change should be made if next year brings another 4 loss season, that's fine too. We shouldnt dog those Husker fans for "missing Frank" or "having no clue". One's opinion is not better than another's. Hope this makes sense. Let's come together Husker fans. It is what it is. Peace-OUT!
