there is no way KU runs the ball against us. I think we will totally focus on shutting that down and we will, just like the usc game. now before you point out USC had 140+ yards on the ground remember that 63 of that on the last drive, after the game was over for us. take that away you have under 80 yards on 23 attempts for aroun 3 per carry. to win you will have to pass, and shut us down. could it happen? sure, but it doesn't look good for KU

give him some time....people were saying the same thing about carricker a few years back

first of all we have no idea if the 240 is correct. a lot of coaches lie about that. secondly even if it was he has all year to get in shape, and it shouldn't be that hard. when I played college basketball I would come in every season weighing around 195. by christmas I would be at 170. and I DIDNT WANT to lose weight. he sould be able to shed that easily. lastly, this kid just made a mistake. he didn't do anything BAD. no beat up girl friend, no assualt charges, no restisting arrest(all things past players have done and it was OK) to me take him asa a walk on, if he gets himself in shape, gets his grades, and earns a postition, give him a scholarship. the guy is very talented, and would start for us this year, and would proably next year if we took him

Quint was the man in high school. He was my cousin and just tore up the football field when he had the ball. It seemed like more teams were scared of him than of the Kelsay bros. thats because he was better then them... a lot better. he was an incredible runner

it would have been tough. being a great HS player and great at D2 doesnt tranlate over to being a solid d1 player. Quint hogref played at auburn Hs at the say time the kelsay brother did, and was one of the best players I have ever seen. in HS he was clearly better then cris or chad. but when he got to nebraska, he was considered to slow, and rarely played. no granted he played during one of the best college dynasty's ever, so he might have been able to play now. tough to say. anyway, just because the kid is fast doesn't mean he can be a D1 back. do you thin he's as fst as kenny wilson? how about as fast AND as strong as him?

I think it wil be over half way through the 2nd quarter. I think our guys will come out totally po'd, and it will be very, very brutal

wow, they really have no clue how much this team has improved. our defense is very solid, and our offense is much improved. If we can run the ball at all taylor will totally tear them up. I think we are starting to look like a NU team of old, and I think saturday they will look like a KU team of old. I think that it is 24+ point game.

when I had mono totally wiped out for about 15 day. somehow in that time period I lost 25 pounds(and I did not have 25 pounds to loose, I was in really good shape) after I got to the point were I could get out of bed I was still in bad shape. It took me the whole summer to start felling back to normal.

why is our line still not very good. I have been happy with the progress that cally has made in most areas(cant do anything about our db getting hurt), but I am surprised the line is as bad as it is. do we have any young o-line developing? will it be better next year? this is a problem I never thought we would have at NU

coaches taking ownership for problems are asking to get fired. ask the o-coordinator for the chiefs. its easy for leach to say that, there is NO pressure on him.

did you watch the game?? do you realise that is marlon lucky would have simply held on to a handoff, and grigsby catches a ball that hit him in the hands(and then dances into for 6 untouched) that we probably have the lead in the 4th quarter right?

TRY to think about this logically. if we dont fumble the ball, and pick off one of those 3 passes whats the score? It more than likely take away a touchdown from them and give us one. that 21-17 int the 4th quarter. I think everyone would be happy with that. I do think he should have taken a few more shots down the field, but to say that he played not to get blown out is clearly incorrect. he played to have a shot in the 4th quarter(94 title game anyone) and if we make simple plays (hold one to a hand off, and catch a ball thrown right at you)we would have been

I posted this elsewhere, but I think his game plan was very very close to being what we needed. he just didn't pick his spots to go down field. that is what TO was so good at. knowing when to go down field, or even pull a trick play. to me thats a coach thats still young, and learning. I personally don't think we could have gone blow for blow with them in the passing game. thats what USC it built to do, and they get plenty of practice doing that in the pac-10

not his style. there are many different ways to coach, and different systems(west coast, option, so on) and the all are effective. they main thing is that your kids play hard, and believe in you. I think they do here, so I'm not going to complain.

I think it was a good game plan. I think that his thinking was very similar to TO in the 94 title game against miami. keep it close and then hit them when they are tired. I think he wen a little TOO far with the running, but not by much. look at it this way. if marlon lucky holds on to a simple handoff(not blaming him, just pointing out that its not that big of an IF), and we catch just one of those 3 balls thrown by them right to our db(once again not that big of an IF) we might all be calling BC a genius. lets not forget that we were playing a better team at their place.
