  1. You guys are all right on the money! I've said it before, our DB's are so bad that they force Coz to alter potential game plans. Shanle is absolutely lost out there! He has no nose for the football. If he would ever look back or pay attention to where he was going he would have about 5 or 6 key int's. He looks like a bad high school safety who you can't hide because he's always getting burned or missing a tackle. I honestly don't know what it would hurt to play some of the younger players. Green isn't great, but at least he is usually in the right place and will come up and make a hit. Jones will get better, but I've never seen a DB bite on more fakes than him. Grixby played decent yesterday, but we all know he's a nickel or backup corner at best.
  2. This is actually a great matchup for us! ATM will play right into the strength of our D. I'll take my chances with our front 7 any day! I'm more worried about their home field advantage, it's definitely a tough place to play.
  3. We all know that Cosgrove has never been able to defend an offense with a mobile QB, but I don't think we can blame him completely. Lets face it, our DB's are terrible! Cosgrove has to over compensate for the secondary so much that it alters any kind of potential game plans. We caught a break with the weather against UT otherwise their receivers would have ate us up. I'm convinced that Shanle has no clue what he's doing out there and Grixby would'nt be starting if Bowman was healthy. It's been years since we've been able to play bump and run with our corners! I find it mind boggling that we can't get top notch DB's in the program. I don't think Cosgrove is the best DC, but before we start blaming him for everything we need to understand what he has to work with. We have a great front seven that's being hurt by a very weak secondary.
  4. I think it was a great play call with an unfortunate result! My first thought was to slam Nunn, because that fumble did cost us the game, but I'm glad I took some time to calm down because I watched it over and over again and it was a perfect hit by the UT defender. I'm still pissed that Nunn fumbled it, but I'm glad that BC had the stones to make that call. I think we've proven that we can play with the best and eventually we will start getting some of the breaks in our favor. GO BIG RED!
  5. That was the tightest spiral thrown all day, and he even had gloves on. It was a perfect throw. Hats off to ML!
  6. This is rediculous, I wouldn't watch the Nevada vs SJSU game even if I had a family member playing in it! I guess i'm paying for it.
  7. I can't believe the lack of pressure NU put on Barmann saturday night! Was KU's O-line that good? The first couple series we were all over Barmann and forced a lot of mistakes. If we would have kept up the pressure we would have buried them. Instead we go to a four man rush the rest of the game and let a below average QB get comfortable and throw for over 400 yds. The lack of pressure was really frustrating. I understand our DB's need help, but dropping 7 players into coverage obviously wasn't working either. Someone please help me make sense of it all!
  8. Their loss is our gain, Keller has a whole year to learn the playbook and he already has a lot of experiance with a west coast offense. Our running game should be so good next year that it will take a lot of pressure off of him. Keep in mind that Arizona st with Keller at QB, was dominating SC last year until he got hurt. We know that he can play with the best!
  9. I agree! We made way to many mistakes to beat SC on their home field. Key penalties and Lucky's fumble hurt us. We could have had two int's that would have helped. Even though our corners got abused, our D kept us in the game. SC was beatable, but not with the mistakes we made and Billy C's fear of SC's pass rush!
  10. I was born and raised in Cali, but I have family in Nebraska and go twice a year. I love everyone I have met there. People are actually friendly and loyal. I wish we had more people like that over hear. I think it's hilarious when SC fans talk about how loyal they are, because I remember getting free tickets in the 80's and 90's (that SC would give away) and seeing less than 30,000 fans there. Bandwagon SC fan needs to talk all the smack they can now, because when SC falls they won't be around long enough for payback.
  11. Why doesn't anybody outside of Nebraska think we can win this game? Why are we 19pt under dogs? It just blows me away! Granted SC has been pretty dominant at home the last couple of years, but they have never been as vulnerable as they are now! They have a QB making only his 2nd start, they have no established RB (washington is questionable), they play a 3-4 defense and their starting nose tackle (luther ellis) is out for this game. Their starting safety is out for the season (pinkard) and is being replaced by 2 freshman, one of which has a hyper extended knee and is questionable (ellison). Their starting corner and middle LB are doubtful (thomas & lua), and over 90% of last years offense has moved to the NFL. We have a damn good football team and I think were going to prove it to every one Saturday night!
  12. Easily 45,000+ There is a huge Husker following here in Cali. I'm sure Californian's for Nebraska is the largest alumni chapter. SC made it very easy for us. If you bought SC season tickets, you could purchase up to 50 additional tickets for the Nebraska game. Husker fans bought up a majority of those tickets. There is a bar in orange county that packs in 500-1,000 fans just for a ppv Husker game. SC fans are in for a rude awakening!
  13. Welcome, I'll be at the game as well. I can't wait I'm so pumped up, I don't know how I'm going to get through the week!
  14. I am so tired of this arguement and reading about how good USC is. The fact is that no matter how much talent USC has, they can only play 11 at a time and in case anyone hasn't noticed we have gotten better every year under Callahan and our own talent pool has increased every year as well. There is a reason why teams don't stay on top forever, it's because other teams catch up to them. Win or lose I can see where our program is heading and I'm pretty damn excited. I think we can win and I'll be at the coliseum cheering my head off, just in case we do!
  15. I don't think Nate knows to much about football! If he did he could see that the two teams are actually very evenly matched. SC would get a slight edge because they are at home, but the Husker faithful will be well represented (much like the Notre Dame game). The defenses are comparable with SC getting an edge in secondary, but they have lost their starting safety to a knee injury. They will also have an edge at O-line and receiver, but we will definitely have the edge at RB, QB, and TE. Booty and the young running backs looked ok, but I don't see any reason to be scared of them. I don't doubt SC is a good football team, but not championship caliber, not yet anyway. I don't see any reason why we can't win this game or at least have a chance to win it. Anyone who says that we are going to get pounded is just a fool.
  16. Thanks for the link, you guys rock!
  17. That gave me chills! Bring on the Trojans! The Big Red will be well represented! Myself and a lot of Husker fans I know who live here in L.A. bought SC season tickets just to get the Nebraska game. If you bought SC season tickets you also got to buy additional tickets for the Nebraska game. There will be a lot of scarlet in the crowd! GO BIG RED!
  18. Couldn't have said it better myself!
  19. Obviously an SC fan in denial! I'm finding that SC fan is having a hard time dealing with the fact that they might not be as good as they think they are. I don't even think they are the 2nd best team in the pac 10 (Cal & Oregon). I'm convinced that JD Booty is second coming of Ron Pawlus, and the freshman running backs might be good, but not in game two.
  20. Am I the only person who can see how vulnerable USC and Texas are? There is no dominant team this year! I think we have as good a shot as anybody. The schedule is in our favor and if the O-line can get it together we have a shot this year and next year we will be down right scary!
  21. Call me crazy, but I see us 11-1 (assuming Zac stays healthy). I think we'll upset USC because we'll be catching them at the right time. Inexperiance at QB and RB. Although Texas won't be nearly as good without Vince Young, it would still be tough to beat them twice.
  22. That was terrible! Mark May is an idiot! I was paying attention the whole time and I'm sure I only heard the name Nebraska 1 time. They should have called it the Texas, USC, Notre Dame, Ohio St. preview show!
  23. They definitely can't deny that the talent is back as NU, we are loaded with talent. The offense seems to finally be clicking and our front seven are as good as any in the country. I bet they'll slam the secondary, it's an obvious question mark!
