No wait, he did, he had a lot of kids leave while he was coaching there, but yet he still was able to consistently put a respectable product on the field. I agree, all harp's been doing is ragging on Bo's defense when he hasn't even begun to talk about the problems on offense.... Hey harp! You had an offense too, I never saw them in the top 5 in the nation. Defense wins championships, and whoa...look what you guys are getting ready to play in...hmmmm right right, well give us hawaii, kansas, or mizzou or hell, even your schedule and i guarantee we'd be #1, unfortunatly we play in the sec where defense's tend to have an impact on offensive output. see: lsu 48 vt 7, what, are you gonna tell me our defense scored those points? because our offense never seemed to score fewer than 21 and 28 points (the 28 was against fla, where the offense saved us, also in the auburn game where some offensive heroics are the only reason we don't have 4 losses) and even those were wins... dosen't seem as impotent as you'd like to think... vs. the 2 losses where we scored 37 and 48, which is good for any conference's offense much less in the sec. but regardless, keep reaching, can't wait to hear whats next! Dude, we had one of the hardest schedules in the nation this year, you wouldn't have been #1 I'd bet you all the money I have that you will not have a top 5 defense next year, it just won't happen, but yet.....still...Pelini sucks.

Actually, Vince was HALF the TEAM as he only played Offense, I never saw him lining up as a D end too. Texas also had a sic defense that year which allowed Vince to be the dominant player that he was.

Odd, Chuck Norris can do a lot of the same things that Bo can do.

Yeah, it really sucks too because we had so many opportunities to put that game away, but just couldn't finish. if Cookie wouldnt' have lost control of the ball on their side of the court before time ran out in the second, then we probably wouldn't even be having this conversation...but...what can ya do. I think this game will teach them some lessons and if not that, they'll at least be running a few more laps getting them extra prepared for our next game because I'm sure Doc isn't happy about the loss.

How do you get that NU is in worse shape now than when Callahan took over four years ago? Solich pretty much left the cupboard bare for Callahan to work with, granted, Callahan changed our entire offensive scheme, but in those four years, he got some of the best talent in the nation in terms of recruits, he just didn't know how to develop them. Pelini comes in with a squad that is far from depleted, we have skill guys who know how to play, they just need the guidance, plus....Pelini isn't going to completely alter the offense like Callahan did. No, Pelini is in a far better position and that's why there's so much optimism when it comes to next season.

How did Tom recruit when he was coach? I'm sure we offered quite a few schollies to in-state kids, and we seemed to do okay.

I'd like to start off with playing Oklahoma every year. I know that's not non-conference, but I miss the days of having the OU matchup to look forward to every year. In terms of non-conference teams, my list would go like this: Arkansas (2nd favorite team, would be a fun game to watch) West Virginia Louisville Kentucky Navy

Yeah, it'd be great if Bo did that, but I also think that Bo wants to win a National Championship since those don't come so often. I think, being a man whose won a few championsips, Osborne said that he understands if Bo feels the need to finish. Bo couldn't help the timing of the coaching hire.... ....This topic is a double-edged sword because there's so many reasons why both sides are right....so I don't know, I just know I have no problem with it.

Yeah, but he's fully healed now. I guess the true litmus test will be at the spring game (which I am really looking forward to), and see how he does compared to Ganz. I still think it'll be a battle.

OK, if you were an LSU fan, how would you feel? if he was our DC and we were going to the NC game, how would you feel? try that shoe on for size.....then complain about it some more.....not me.....he has earned his chance to help his guys win it all! Yeah, well put. If we had a great season that put us in the National Championship due in large part to our Defense, and our DC was leaving, wouldn't we want the ENTIRE Nebraska Football squad to be apart of it. No chinks in the chain, we started this, we're finishing it. In the end, this isn't a big deal and could possibly lead to better things for us. This is the confidence booster that Pelini needs to show that it's on. The Huskers are coming!

I think Joe provided a great spark to a badly struggling team. But he needs to really work on his throwing. Too many short or long or behind the receiver and too many interceptions - 7 over the last 3 games. But his mobility, should he get some good QB coaching, definitely gives him a shot. But, I haven't seen the other guys play... No one has seen him play at this level. Ganz 1 Lee 0. No, but we've seen him play in Juco, and he looks damn good. Good mobile QB who knows how to throw it.
