Wow the first Big 12 game on ESPN features Colorado. So I guess the thought there is to start at the bottom and work up. At least the Big 12 will be represented a little better that day on ABC.

As I said in another thread I got mine today right on the 40.

I got my Big 12 Championship game tix this morning. Now I sure hope I am wearing red and screaming my guts out on December 1st in the Alamodome. By the way I checked with the Big 12 office and the North team is the home team if you guys are thinking about getting tickets now while they are still available at an affordable price.

That is pretty terrible but I wonder if since it was in your stadium if your folks should have said something, or maybe they didn't know and someone should tell them so it doesn't happen again in the future.

I hope you can soften them up a little. Texas State plays them right after you do next Tuesday.

We down here hope that it is not cancelled, although it probably will be. The Austin city council last week approved a financial incentive to keep the show filming in this area. The show has done some really cool things, including taking an old high school stadium that was abandoned and totally rebuilding it and will donate it to the Del Valley school district at the end of filming. That's the Dillon stadium you see every week, it's right next to the Austin Airport. There are several friends of mine in the show, including the radio announcer with the red hair and beard (Ed Clements) who I used to work with here in town when I was in local radio. Like I say we are all hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

I know in the past some of you have said you watch Friday Night Lights. Just wanted to let everyone know that next week's show will feature the facilities at my university, Texas State. Bobcat stadium, our end zone complex which has the weight room and coaches offices classrooms and film rooms and parts of the campus and downtown San Marcos were turned into Texas Methodist University a few weeks back and that show airs next Wednesday if you guys are interested.

Nebraska has a big baseball weekend coming up, including games against two undefeated teams. Texas A&M Corpus Christi is new to the Southland Conference this year, the same conference that Texas State is in. You will really be their first test, they haven't played any ranked teams, but they have been able to score runs at will against lesser opponents. In fact many of their games look like football scores. Rice is really hard to read. Texas State and Texas A&M took care of them but they looked good against Baylor. Vandy beat them but Vandy may be the best team in the country this year, certainly so far early in the season. Florida Atlantic is another undefeated team and looks to be pretty tough as well although the biggest game for them so far as been a win over Oklahoma State. They also beat Mississippi Valley State 33-3. Should be a great early season test for the Huskers.

There are people like me that go to games that never know how many people are coming with them, sometimes two, sometimes three, sometimes four or more. That's why I buy single game tickets to Texas State games. If we were to do something like that I wouldn't be able to go to any games, or would have to leave people out and only get two season tickets. That just makes no sense what-so-ever.

I can't wait to see these results to see how good New Mexico is. Texas State plays a three game series with them next week. Go get em.

We beat #1 Rice last night 3-2. Next Big 12 opponent is Baylor this coming Tuesday and on the 20th is the game I will be going to against Texas.

I wish we were playing Nebraska this year. You guys killed us last year 10-2 and we beat you guys the year before 3-2 but no match-up this year between us. The next really big game is at home Tuesday against number 1 Rice, who just stole our football coach so I hope we kill them, probably won't but there is always hope.

Since I know most of you aren't big Sooner fans thought I would let you know we took care of their baseball team tonight. Texas State 8 Oklahoma 3. Just proud of my school's team and wanted to share it with someone.

Thought you guys would like it since it included the Montana State,/Colorado game.

I must say I am with your wife on this one. I am a big Bears fan too and Hester has bailed us out many times this season. He is a big reason we are 11-2 and not 9-4 or 8-5. I was also happy Rex had a pretty good game last night but the much talked about Chicago defense didn't look all that great at times and gave up WAY too many passing yards. Looks liek they did a little better stopping the run but the Rams didn't run that much in the second half so those numbers are a bit skewed.

That's a heck of a good find because I was coming up empty. I hope he sees it.

One of the sports guys down here, a major Whorn guy who kicked for them in the 80's, agrees with you that Nebraska will take out OU so go figure. Oklahoma appears to be the darling of most folks but I think they will be surprised. The did get one thing right, this will be Boise's chance to prove they can run with the big boys, they just have the name of the boy wrong.
