Not sure what configuration the stadium will be in but most of the time according to some info my girlfriend looked up they only have 68 thousand or so seats so if you put 40 thousand in there you will have more fans than they will. It is expandable if they open up an endzone that they normally have covered, the endzone below the Olympic torch.

I don't think Bevo runs, just stands there and poops a lot. Ahhhhh some tradition there huh. I think it is pretty cool that Nebraska is in the top 10 considering the Tunnel Walk is a relatively new tradition compared to most of the other ones.

She did get one thing right, Oregon's uniforms are fugly. Nebraska's uniforms are classic, when you see them you know exactly who you are playing, you know the tradition and you remember the big wins just by looking at the uniforms. That to me is what defines a classic.

That's exactly what I was telling my GF Ag. The network wants a 1 vs. 2 so now they get it. On the other hand since Nebraska and SC is the big game next weekend you would think they would move Nebraska up several spots instead of down one since SC will be number 2 going into the Nebraska game.

Please don't teach them too much, we still have to play them later in the season. That option of theirs always gives us trouble because they are very fast swinging the ball to the outside. The Nebraska defense is a lot quicker than ours so you guys shouldn't get into that much trouble but they always come to play.

There were two current players and Harris arrested. Brown is the starting cornerback and the other guy is on special teams. You are correct that Harris used up his elligibility and is no longer playing. I have a feeling that Ag is right, if they need them they will be playing on Saturday and then they will be suspended for the Sam Houston game where they will not be needed. By the way thanks for calling them the Whorns Ag, we call them that too. Great minds think alike.

I know the records are there, but the ranks are the same as last week. The previous rank was from last season. There is no way Cal would stay at number 9 after getting spanked in Tennessee so this is not an updated AP poll, just the records have been added.

I was watching that game since Texas State plays Kentucky this week. The replay of the tackle made me hurt just watching it. It was certainly an accident, the defender just rolled over Bush's leg at a bad angle as they were going down. Really tough to see and I feel sorry for Bush. He could have been in the NFL this year but wanted to play his senior season and now he won't get to. Maybe he can get a hardship year of elligibility and try again next year since this will not help his NFL prospects in next year's draft.

The biggest problem with this argument is that only two of the schools mentioned in the original post are 1-AA. Toledo is 1-A in the MAC, UAB is one of the better Conference USA programs. Illinois State and Montana State are 1-AA but I also think that shows you the trouble both the Colorado and Kansas State programs are going to have this year. It also shows you that sometimes 1-AA schools play up to their competition and sometimes 1-A schools play down to theirs. Vandy is also a 1-A and plays in the SEC.

Since Nicholls is in our conference I get to see them every other year in person. I will say that if you guys miss the old Nebraska option offense you will get to see it again this weekend because that's basically what Nicholls runs. They pass very little, they depend on breaking runs on the outside for their big plays. Their biggest problem this year from what I read is they are a really young team and I think that shows in the stats from the first game. The rushing yards, 220, are pretty low considering the kind of offense they run. Part of that could be from playing a short field however. This game will get you ready for the run but won't do much to gear you up for the passing attack from USC. If this were last year's Nicholls team I would tell you that it might be closer than you might think, but the team is pretty different this year from what I read. One thing I can say for sure, a team with an "N" on their helmet will win....

I can even get Husker hats in Walmart down here in the Austin/San Marcos area. Man that is unbelievable.

From an outsiders perspective you should be proud that people get so upset about Nebraska football. Look at why they are hating on you.....because of your success. It's the same reason why I can't stand Texas, because they overshadow every other program in this part of the world (no offense to AG meant). Nebraska overshadows all of those other programs in the midwest, why, because you guys have been kicking butt for a long long time. So let them hate all they want, kill-em on the field and then they will just have more reason to hate.

I wonder if someone with video editing skills could put highlights on something like Youtube or Google video that he could see after the game. I would but I don't have the equipment. It wouldn't be live but at least he could see highlights afterwards. I am not sure if Fox puts highlights up on it's website but might also want to check that out. Just a couple of thoughts. EDIT: Just for the heck of it I emailed Fox to ask if there would be any place you could go for a live video stream of the game and to make sure they will post video highlights after the game. I will let you know what they say when I get a response. Hope that helps.

bossdawg, let me be the first to appologize to you. You are in the WAC and I was Whacked in the head. That said I still think this has the pottential to be a one sided game. Again I appologize for upsetting you and lets just start the whole thing over.

I never even thought that Oklahoma was on Keller's list so what are they talking about. Sour grapes I guess. Well too bad for them. I am glad Keller ended up with an elite program. One of his best friends is the new Texas State punter. He was an all american at AZ State who was screwed over by the coach there as well and from what I hear Keller is a great guy who made the right decision. He wouldn't have helped Oklahoma this year anyway. Hmmmm maybe Keller just didn't want to "sell cars."

I really really really hope you guys beat Texas. Working in Austin it has just been unbearable since they won the title, especially since I am a Texas State guy and we get no respect anyway. With that said those who say you are catching USC are right, but the problem is they have some games to work on things between now and the time you play them. The good thing is your offense has more experience and thier defense is suspect. It is winable but will be very tough, especially in thier house. Texas is winable for you as well, you have them at home and the offense will not be as strong. The thing you will have to overcome is an overpowering defense which is just as strong as it was last year although there were some losses. A&M on the road will be tough as well but again winable. The thing you will have to overcome there is a coach fighing for his life. Coach Fran will be out after this season if they don't at least go to a bowl. It depends on how hard his players want to play for him and if they want to play hard they will be very dangerous. Their offense will be improved this year, they recruited well on defense but still lack experience. I am sure Ag can tell you a lot more about them than I can. I haven't kept up with them this year since we don't play them this year. If I had to guess I would say 10-3 winning the north but loosing the championship game. Just my guess however and I am new to Nebraska football so keep that in mind.

Bowls like the Big House force the sound up not out because of their shape. That's why stadiums like Memorial that have taller sides are louder that a bowl with shorter sides. If they expand Kyle at A&M to enclose the other endzone that place may be the loudest stadium in America simply because of the design, very high sides to hold in the sound.

It is very rare that a game between a 1-A and 1-AA school is on TV, it does happen, but not very often.

Nicholls will be a tougher game. You should have no problem with LA TECH. I was telling my girlfriend (who is the reason I am following Husker football) that if you guys aren't up by 3 TD's at half then something is wrong. This will be a very bad opening weekend for the Sun Belt, since North Texas will be down by 80 at half to Texas. By they way nice board.
