  1. WHY DID LEE COME BACK IN THE GAME!!!!! GREEN WAS DOING FINE!!!!
  2. Props to Suh! Linky: http://cfn.scout.com/2/908567.html
  3. Player: Jermauria Rasco Hometown: Shreveport, LA Position: DE Height: 6'4" Weight: 244 lbs. 40 time: Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Colorado, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Duke, UCLA, Stanford Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Big Red Report: Assessing the talent: One of the top DL recruits in the country for 2011. Recorded 26 sacks as a sophomore breaking record formerly held by Reggie White. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 10% Offer list has many top programs. Nebraska needs to continue to prove strength of our defense and play lights out with Suh and the gang this year and again next year. If the Blackshirts are back, then we can be in on many top defensive recruits. Time will tell.
  4. Player: Christian Westerman Hometown: Chandler, AZ Position: OT Height: 6'5" Weight: 285 lbs. 40 time: 5.13 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Oregon State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida, LSU, Arkansas, Georgia, Auburn, Miami Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Big Red Report: Assessing the talent: The best OL recruit from the state of AZ for 2011 class. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 10% Lots of big offers. Has camped at USC and is known to like the Trojans. Notre Dame is recruiting him hard and wants him to visit for USC-Notre Dame game this weekend. Miami is a recent offer and he has family in south Florida so Canes may have edge also. His dad says he likes the snow so maybe Miami is out and we are in! Obviously very early but would be great addition to the renewed Pipeline we are building on the O-Line.
  5. Let's just keep winning and the rankings will take care of themselves. Rankings are always somewhat crazy this time of year. Are there a lot of people that actually think Iowa is better than Oklahoma? But, you have to rank them this way as Iowa is unbeaten and OU has suffered two losses. It all will sort itself out in the end...for the most part.
  6. NU 34 TT 23 Run 160 Pass 240 Sort of feels like a trap game now after the emotional comeback high of the MU win. I have no doubt TT will come out gunning and they always have a high powered offense. Our offense needs to get rolling to put this one out of reach...hopefully that happens sooner rather than later.
  7. thats what im talkin 'bout, son!!! Welcome, Tyler!
  8. Yes, difficult to see the exact position of the ball but can guess that it is not quite at goal line. Knee looks down. Still too inconclusive to tell but I was surprised they didn't show it more or spend more time on the review. I think the more they looked, then perhaps they were going to have to go back and reverse it. If it was not 4th down and no clock...maybe they reverse it as MU would still have chance...I think they thought it was too big a call to reverse and it was extremely close. Who knows? We did win, so not going to lose sleep.
  9. I was surprised ESPN did not replay it that much. Tough to over rule the initial call...from what I have seen looks like 50 / 50...flip a coin...I just can't tell...so they stuck with the call. Great picture. If anyone else has a picture or more conclusive evidence, would love to see it.
  10. I figured it was likely he was at the game and if so likely he would be N. This guy was made to play on Pelini's defense. Welcome, Chase!
  11. Here is link from Husker Journal: OCTOBER 7 2009. MESSAGE BOARDS JOSHUA MITCHELL, CB, 5-11, 180, 4.5, CORONA (ROOSEVELT), CALIFORNIA High On Nebraska "Nebraska has a beautiful defense, I love their defense. They are always around the ball, they (Nebraska) are getting up there in the nation and are moving up. I think they will be one of the top programs in the nation." Mitchell said "I'm visiting Nebraska November 7th," Mitchell said, "I'm very excited to go. There will be four of us going to Nebraska, Slavin, Hill and Mobley are all going with me. They all like Nebraska but we don't talk much about who is recruiting us or what we are going to do. We just know that we set up a trip to Nebraska together. Austin Hill is going to Colorado State with me this weekend." Family Ties At CSU "I also like Colorado State," Mitchell said, "My brother is going there now he's a redshirt freshman. I'm going out there October 10 when they play Utah." "I like Colorado State's head coach, recruiting coordinator and everybody up there. I hear from them about every week, either they call me or I will call them. Colorado State said they are looking out for one corner and I'm that person." Mitchell said "Colorado is building the program up there, they were in the dumps but building it back up." Mitchell added No Leader "I don't know who the leader is right now, It's kind of up in the air right now. I'm looking to play early, If I have to redshirt I wouldn't complain. I'm looking to get in and start." Mitchell said "I'm going to commit at the end of the season. I'm going to try to take all five visits but, I don't know what other schools yet." Mitchell said
  12. This was a crazy game. I still am sort of shocked we won. We couldn't do anything for 3 quarters and then put together a 4th quarter for the ages. This will help us knowing we are NEVER out of a game. Suh is awesome...a one man wrecking crew. I liked Crick's play tonight also. I was noticing Gomes having a great game even before the INT. Great game defense!!! Wow...not sure with this crazy game for the offense. Good to see Lee break through and get on fire when he absolutely had to. Helu didn't look himself (I was wondering if he was ill as we went to an air attack in the rain?). Helu didn't seem to have his extra gear tonight until those last runs to finish them off...way to play tough Roy! Paul made some clutch catches and Rex made some nice plays tonight also. Way to battle for the victory...I surely thought we were going down after 3 qtrs but you proved me wrong! Awesome!
  13. Cool article...I actually had not seen it. This type of PR material should get into the hands of recruits and their families. Awesome testimony to the program and the fans.
  14. This is going to be a great game. Mizzou has some very good WR's that will test us...I am anxious to see how our secondary performs...we cannot give up big yardage pass plays. We need to get to Gabbert obviously...if we do we should be in good shape, if we do not I am not sure we can win. Wow...that is some bulletin board material for our offense. We need to put up points and a lot...nuff said.
  15. From Husker Journal: I think if this kid visits, we get him. JONATHAN MACK, DB, 5-9, 180, 4.5, COLTON, CALIFORNIA "Nebraska, UNLV, Iowa State are the only offers this season. I do plan on visiting Nebraska" Mack said "Nebraska has a good fan base, good environment. I've been watching their games on TV and they (Nebraska) are getting much better." Mack said "Nebraska sent me a paper about going out there for one of their games. Me and my mom are thinking about going out there for Texas Tech game. Derrick Malone and his mom are coming to Nebraska with us. Derrick and I have been talking about how it would be to play at Nebraska together." Mack said
  16. #1 Florida - the best until someone beats them. #2 Alabama - I have never really been that big on Alabama in recent years and Utah made them look ordinary last bowl season. The thing I see this year is that their defense is always good but now it looks like their offense can score some points which makes them dangerous. #3 Texas - most I saw of them this year was against Texas Tech and was not that impressed. Do they look better then in other recent years? Will not be surprised to see them lose. They need to kick it up another level to win it all. #4 Boise State - I think if they go unbeaten and there are no other unbeaten teams, they have a chance to play for all the marbles this year because there have already been so many top teams lose that they are primed to rise into vacated slots ahead of them. #5 LSU - not sure they have the offense to be the best this year. #6 USC - yes they took a bad loss but they have defense to compete with teams ranked ahead of them which means they can still beat teams ahead of them. Offense under freshman QB needs to do more for them to get above teams ahead of them. #7 Oklahoma - I guess at the end of this thing OU and USC may have same excuse if they are left out of the big party...hey we only got beat because our QB's were injured! OU looks very strong still to me and I would categorize them with USC as capable of beating anyone. #8 Virginia Tech - excellent defense...not sure their offense can beat teams ahead of them. #9 Ohio State - solid but don't think they can get to highest level...teams ahead of them are better. #10 Cincinnati - dark horse but would need to definitely be unbeaten to get serious look. Michigan has been exciting to watch this year because of their close games but I think we would handle Michigan and don't think Michigan is top 10 this year.
  17. NU 31 MU 27 Run 160 Pass 230 This is going to be a great game. I think we are better than Missouri but this is a key conference battle at their place (we haven't won there since 2001) on primetime TV and they will be amped up. This will be a tough win. Defense holds Gabbert and Co. on final drive to secure the win.
  18. From Husker Journal: This says he is coming in November and not this weekend? SEPTEMBER 25 2009. MESSAGE BOARDS DAMON WILLIAMS, DT, 6-4, 300, 5, IRVING (NIMITZ), TEXAS "Nice Up There" "Texas Tech is close to home, I will visit them next week and I know a couple of people who go up there. I've been to Texas Tech a couple times for a regional track meet. It's pretty nice up there, it's like two cities, country and city." Williams said "Texas Tech said If you don't want to go to a school, and don't play your freshman year, don't come here." Williams said Very Interested In Baylor "I'm very high on Baylor," Williams said, "I haven't been to Waco yet, but I plan on going out there. What I will probably do with all the close schools I'll take unofficials, then all the far away schools I'll do official visits." "I probably like (Baylor) is how they are a pretty good team. They are the same as Arkansas, up coming team. I like Robert Griffin he's a pretty nice guy. Pretty good dude. They (Baylor) have a defensive tackle that transferred from Penn State (Phil Taylor), he's pretty good too." Williams said Damon to Visit Nebraska In November "Nebraska is a pretty good school, they have a lot of tradition and like the atmosphere up there. It seems pretty nice. This will be my first visit to Nebraska, I watch them on TV a lot." Williams said "Coach Beck (Nebraska) is recruiting me," Williams said, "Nebraska said I move good for my size, I'm very explosive, make a lot of good plays. Nebraska said I can play early. Most every school I talk to once I step on campus I will get early playing time." "I talked to coach Beck last week and he's getting all the paper work ready. He just called me while I was on the phone with you. So I got to call him back when I get off the phone with you." Williams said patiently "I've been to Arkansas, but I haven't been to the campus. I talk to coach Mike Summers a couple of times. Arkansas is an up coming team. I can help them be an impact player. It's SEC football, SEC ball is a tough conference to be in that would be nice." Williams said More Visits To Come "Not yet, I don't have any scheduled but I plan on too. I plan on taking all five visits but have no idea who I might visit. It's like day by day thing with me." Williams said "Distance is not a factor," Williams says, "I'm looking for a family oriented team. I can go in and feel comfortable with everybody. Go in and feel like home."
  19. Hope he enjoys his visit. Need to continue to improve the WR's.
  20. But would you rather peg a 5-loss team on Green or Lee? Green...because I know the experience he will get is invaluable and will serve him well in the future. What I am saying is that if Lee shows the coaches that he cannot get us to the next level, they should play Green or be prepared to get him a lot of action. If Lee is truly the guy, then great let Green be #2. But if Lee cannot pull it together vs. Mizzou, we better damn well have Green ready.
  21. I hear ya. Very frustrating. I am tired of not being able to beat ranked teams. Why do other teams beat highly ranked opponents (Washington over USC...are you kidding me?). I am tired of losing on national TV. I refuse to let Mizzou humiliate us again on national TV. We MUST win that game. If you play not to lose, you will likely lose. This is what happened today. It doesn't just boil down to one playcall, it was throughout the entire game. We need to impose our will on teams. I applaud the defense. Our offense (other than Helu) did not get the job done, poor execution. If you told me we would not score a TD against VA Tech then obviously we are not going to win. Respect only comes when you earn it...we have yet to earn it. So until that time, I expect ESPN and the national media to cover us as just another team.
  22. One of my biggest fears was how Lee would perform in his first major hostile environment. It was quite ugly. Next week we will win with Lee. So to me, it comes down again to Lee starting at the Mizzou game...this will be yet another amped up hostile environment because the game has serious implications for who wins the North. If we are laying another egg in this game and cannot score a TD and cannot move the ball through the air, I expect to see Green. To me it is all up to Lee...he can either get better from this loss...or just hand the keys over to Green. I am not saying Green is going to take us to next level. I just think at that point if we are going to be a 5 loss team, it might as well be with Green than Lee.
  23. I knew it was over when the McNeil TD got reversed and the when there was not even a review on Holt's play. You don't score a TD in this game, you are not going to win. Period.
