  1. Apology accepted Huskers Forever. I'm sure you won't have to wait long for the order to be restored. Bo is a great coach and his best days are ahead of him at Nebraska. "There, Now we can be friends again". -Doc Holiday (Tombstone)
  2. WOW-All this KU love from Fro Daddy and HuskerRed. Dang....I got nothing. Good posts! I to think it's between KU and Nebraska, but as I've said in other posts, until KU can beat Texas tech, I can't favor them at this time. Ask me after they play. KU has to go at least 1-2 VS the South teams, and I just don't see them beating Texas or OU. That means they'll likely have to go undefeated in the North to win the North....and that will be tough with road games @CU, @KSU (I know they suck, but still our rival and anything can happen), and of course NU in Lawrence. It will be difficult.
  3. This makes him a difference maker???? Slow day Hukser??? Hmmmm....I guess I can throw in the fact that he also won the Colorado game for us as well. Point being he is better than most people think on this board, and while he may not be GREAT between the tackles, the blame can't all be on him. Our line was far from great last year. With improved line play his running between the tackles will improve. At this stage of his career he is a BETTER back than Hulu (May have mispelled). But with Castille, I will give NU the nod at RB. But I would still take Sharp as my starter over both. Just my opinion.
  4. Indeed. It will be one to remember in Lawrence boys! I hope you bring your popcorn to the stadium....oh wait, Lew Perkins won't allow anything like that. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if he charges us KU fans a special "breathe the air tax" while inside memorial stadium in Lawrence. He can make a dollar out of a nickel any day of the week!
  5. good post. but its the offseason, you gotta bicker with opposing teams fans! in the end all will be fine. True this is. One thing I will respond to though-I think it's pretty even at RB between KU and NU. I really don't think either team has much of an advantage over the other. Nobody on this board seems to respect Jake Sharp, and I don't know why. He really didn't have a good game against you guys, but he single-handedly beat ISU, and helped us stay close with OU for 3 quarters. The guy can flat out play, and is one of KU's biggest difference makers. I think Jake Sharp is a heck of a football player and extremely talented. He is a real playmaker. That said, I think people are giving Nebraska the advantage because we have two outstanding guys in Castille and Helu. Because we have the depth, that's why I give them the nod over KU. Sharp can only be in the backfield for so long, but we have a lot of guys who can roll in and out of there and make some big plays. KU obviously has a WR and QB advantage without question, so no quarry there on my behalf. very accurate post imo. Yeah I'll give you that. I forgot about Castille. And Quigley is switching to LB, so Crawford will be backing up Sharp, and honestly that makes me nervous. Dude played like a 4 star bust to me.
  6. I drank buckets of kool-aid for my jayhawks last year, and it bit me in the @SS!! Heck, I predicted NU to go 7-5.......and KU to go 10-2.....I was closer on my NU prediction!! Geeeez. Pass the juice.
  7. Griffin is good, but come on! The love fast is getting old. They've improved from being terrible, to a team that competes. They're the KU of 2004. I don't see them winning more than 5 games this year.

  9. I really don't know where to begin. It's giving me a headache!! Here take two of these...."what are they"? Nuprin! "Little....yellow....different". Name that movie?????? Think early 90's.....two guys partying in their basement. But seriously, what did ya'll expect was going to be on our Jayhawk Boards??? The same BS ya'll are spreading, just the opposite. Lets just put it this way. Both teams have questions, and it's going to be one heck of a game in Lawrence this year, and the offseason sucks!
  10. Yeah, you did score 35 points. 7 of which came off a 20 yard drive following a turnover, and the last score came in the final two minutes when the Huskers had a 17 point lead. Midway through the 4th quarter, KU had 270 total yards, before reaching 400 when the game was out of reach. Nebraska's defense will be even better in '09, and KU's o-line will not be improved. As for the MU fans on board; I'm sorry if I left you out of my post. But seriously Tigerfan, your team is losing far more than NU or KU. Joey Ganz is a big loss, but the Huskers at least have talented QB's who have been in the system for multiple seasons. Gabbert, has no game experience and he's never even produced in high school. On top of that, NU has tons of o-line experience returning along with their most productive running backs. The losses of Maclin, Coffman, and even Tommy Saunders are monumental for an offense that will be replacing a 3-year starter at QB with a Redshirt freshman. I'll even give Gabbert the benefit of the doubt and say he becomes a stud. Even if he completely grasps the scheme and shows he won't get rattled, Mizzou's offense will still be far less productive without Coffman and Maclin. Both of those guys are going to be impact players in the NFL. Heck, Chase Daniel without Maclin or Coffman would've never had the success at Mizzou that he demonstrated. And Mizzou loses so many good players on defense, I'm surprised any Mizzou fan could honestly believe they will compete for the North. If the Huskers were losing our 3 best d-lineman, our most experienced linebacker, and 3 out of 4 DB starters, including William Moore, I would be freaking out. Mizzou has no buisness being in this discussion. CU can at least argue they have both KU and NU at home, and CU always plays the Huskers tough. But the Tigers, there future looks dim. Yeah...but with that said, you do have to play MU in Columbia, and that's not a fun place to play those guys. They will be a little "green" on the experience side of things, but you can't just chalk it up as a W. You should win the game, but honestly, I"m not counting any road games as automatic wins this year in the Big 12....well, except of course that school to the west that prances around in perple pants!!
  11. What do you expect from a KU fan? Do you think he'll only post when kissing our big red asses? What would be the point of that? I say the more varied the opinions the better. Sure beats some of the outrageous B.S. some of us spew at our own team. A little outside venom is much easier for me to stomach. Keep up the good work Gayhawks!* * For purely antagonizational purposes, couldn't let you off the hook too easily! I'm just about done with this thread simply so that I can avoid getting in trouble with the powers that be, but what the hell, I'll respond to this. If JGS wants to respond to this thread, that's ok. Or any other thread. It just seems (to me, at least) like he tries to turn EVERY SINGLE Big XII thread toward how great Kansas is and why they'll be better than Nebraska. And, as I've pointed out, if his entire purpose is to post about another Big XII team, he is at the very least posting in the wrong section of this forum. Uhhh.....ok. I talked about KU in this thread because "KU was in the subject line"! LOL. You're a funny guy Josh. Good times!
  12. These rankings seem pretty accurate as of today. I don't think there is much seperation between 3-thru 5. Until Kansas can beat Texas tech, I'm not going to count that game as a win for my hawks. Mangino hasn't been able to beat them since he arrived in lawrence...and playing them in Lubbuck isn't going to help!
  13. I agree with basically all of that. In 2010, keeping in mind this is really looking ahead.....NU should be the clear favorite in the North. I see NU going 9-3 with losses to OU, V-Tech and a team from the north. Of course I think it will be Kansas, since it is on the road, and for the most part the teams are evenly matched. I just think NU takes a step back on offense, and it costs them in Lawrence. But, that doesn't mean they can't win the north. Kansas has to play Texas, OU and Texas Tech. We could go 0-3 again, even with Texas Tech losing alot of their skill players. Texas Tech has had KU's number, and a Mark Mangino coached team hasn't beat them yet.
  14. I see Nebraska going 9-3. Good defense, with an offense that will improve as the year goes. With NU going 6-2 in Big 12 play. A solid season.
  15. Yeah, and they weren't any good, and will easily be replaced...right? You also lose your extremely consistant receivers......... I take it you haven't seen film on Cody Green? Cody Green wont play. Last time we had a starting QB people thought no one would step in for him, but oh wait, Ganz stepped in just fine after Keller was out for the year. Lee and Witt both have years in the system and Spano has a year. Green will redshirt. No doubt. Steinkuhler is one of 4 d-lineman. Our d-line is WAYY better than your o-line, it wont even be close. JGS, it seems that you ARE the most delusional KU fan i have ever seen in my life. You have 0 credibility after your 2-1 guarantee and guarantee that you beat USF then failure to own your bet with saunders. jayhawk actually brings a pretty open eyed opinion in which is nice to see. JGS, you don't. OK, Huskerhavoc, Lets talk about credibility. I missed 3 games last year-USF, Texas and Texas Tech. I got the KU over MU game correct. Everyone on this board was thunping their chest and proclaiming the order was restored the summer before Callahan's last year. You ALL had self-annointed yourself's Big 12 Champs. So if I have 0 credibility, then what does that say for everyone else on this board? You're kind of a troll. Just sayin'. Pretty sure I heard all this crap before last season. What was it? 10-2? 9-3 at the worst if I recall? So I'm a troll because I stated a fact??? Real Classy Josh. You don't see me on here calling people names. You are a troll for sure. You call our defense the "pink shirts", just to get a reaction from posters here, and that is what a troll does. The fact is, with Texas losing some key defensive players, The Huskers and OU will have by far the best defenses in the Big 12. That gives NU a big advantage over everyone in the North, and that my friend, is a fact. You should be banned from this board after comparing OU's talent on defense to Nebraska's. That's clearly one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard. They recruit 5 star athletes, and play at a completely different level than both NU and KU. Please, never make another stupid comment like that again.
  16. (emphasis mine) You might wish to consult a dictionary, my friend. Thank you zoogies, that's my point exactly!! Yes, I do my fair share of "chigging kool-aid", especially the jayhawk juice, but you can't deny the fact that there are two positions that are key for any team. #1 is the QB spot, which is clearly a question mark for NU. #2 would be the offensive tackles, of course because it all starts up front. I take shos at their predictions because they won't even acknowledge the fact that they are losing some guys and it will be difficult to replace Ganz and company. KU has just as legit shot as NU at winning the North. Period. And I doubt I get banned from the board because I don't take personal shots at people on this board. Unlike the two posters that called me a troll.
  17. Yeah, and they weren't any good, and will easily be replaced...right? You also lose your extremely consistant receivers......... I take it you haven't seen film on Cody Green? 20. Lets be real here: What's the difference between MU and NU. Not much really. MU blew them off the field last year, and both schools lose a ton of skill players. Both will have highly ranked, young QB's-that's if Cody starts for NU. It sounds like Gabbert will get the nod in Columbia. Really, both teams have a lot of question marks. I could see the north coming down to KU and MU. Colorado has no chance to win it. They're too weak, and they're coach is a moran. But hey, you guys struggled against them, so anything is possible I guess.
  21. Well you're delusional, so that explains that. You must have forgotten the fact Nebraska beat Kansas last year. WOW. There's some strong logic. And KU beat Nebraska the year before...who cares!!
  22. i would be willing to bet that NU wont drop a shoulder into reesing this year but, the game is won in the trenches.. i really don't think you can say this is a better team than the one we beat.. the weapons on Offense have more experience, but that will mean nothing if reesing is on his back all day. I completely disagree with the fans on here. CU and MU will be better than KU?? How do you figure? We return the most skill players than any other team in the north. And it's hilarious that husker fans think we'll take a step back in the trenches. We return basically our entire defensive line, and return both tackles, our tight end, and we have very capable guys who will replace our middle 3 on offense. Nebraska has new receivers and a new QB. You lose way too much on offense to think you'll go 5-0 in the north. And last time I checked, Texas had the best defense in the Big 12, and only ranked 51 nationally. So your defense is far from the best. We'll score 30 plus on you in Lawrence. How will you score is the real question.
  23. Won't need to pass against KU next year !!! at least you hope that's the case...... All you have is hope, while KU returns all the experience. See you in Lawrence Pink Shirts.
  24. Ummm...yeah. I would say he is probably right. OU will destroy anyone from the North next year, as much as it pains me to say it.
