  1. Here's my opinion on the state of the Nebraska football team: We are good... borderline very good when we play well. However, if we don't bring our 'A' game we are VERY average. Especially on the road. We can't beat teams by just showing up like we used to. I think it is safe to say we have the right coach and offensive system (I'm still not sure about the defensive system- right when I think Cosgrove has turned us around and done all of the right things we end up with another KU game) and we are beginning to get the right players in. All we need is a few more years and I think we will be VERY GOOD to great depending on the year and what we lost the previous year.
  2. I agree with you guys about not liking him. I just thought it was interesting what has happened. At the beginning of the season I thought they would be about in the same shape that Colorado is right now, but they are obviously in much better shape.
  3. I've loved what I have seen from Culbert from day 1. It was great to see him get a lot of playing time last week and do well with the time he got. I think he earned himself quite a bit more playing time, however, I don't think he'll be playing the same role against A&M. Thenarse is another freshman stud that I think should see the field. These guys are going to be good.
  4. Something else that I forgot to mention. He is leading a Big 12 poll about who the coach of the year is.
  5. Early on in the year Coach Prince was running all of his players off. I don't have any numbers but a lot of the players quit the team. However, since then Prince has sat down two veterans at QB and RB in favor of two freshman and it has worked. They have reached the 6 win mark which means they are going to a bowl game and they almost seem to be a team on the rise (Remember we were only able to win 5 games in our transition year). I was just wondering what you guys think about this turn of events. Is Prince a good coach and does he actually know what he's doing? Will Prince turn the Mildcats into the Wildcats again?
  6. I didn't notice that he may have reaggravated the injury. I sure hope he didn't. He was a sight to see tonight... making all of those plays.
  7. I hope this was a reality check for Texas because although their fans sound very nice.... their players seemed kinda cocky.
  8. It is nice to hear all so many other teams' players, coaches, and fans complimenting us. Keep up the good work Husker Nation!
  9. I agreee with all of you. This was an experience of a lifetime. It was so much fun despite the loss. I was in the student section and we were all falling all over each other and jumping up an down during the last touchdown and all I could say was 'Oh my God!'. I actually screamed it 20 times in a row. No joke. I was yelling so much during the game that my throat is very sore. I was trying to start yelling a while before McCoy got in the huddle so the rest of the students would catch on and be yelling by the time he got in the huddle. I would also like to say that you might want to be careful if you have a Blackshirts towel. I was getting so amped when we were on defense that I kept hitting the guys behind me with it. They didn't think it was very funny but being good Nebraska fans just told me to be careful.
  10. I agree. It is a shame that you take all of the great plays that he has made for us over the last couple of years for granted and are willing to rip him apart for this fumble. There is nothing he could have done about it and nearly any player would have fumbled in that situation- it was just a great play by the Texas defender.
  11. I agree with the coaches call. When you combine Congdon's weak leg and the weather conditions the hail mary was the best choice.
  12. You might want to add 4* corner back David Ross to the list. I heard he's coming for this game.
  13. He is set to visit this weekend. That's a good sign- whenever we can get a recruit to visit I think that's half the battle. I feel like we can win anyone over when they watch a game at Memorial Stadium.
  14. At one of our games earlier in the year I turned to the guy next to me and told him that I think all of our current running backs have a pretty decent shot at making it to the NFL. He kinda laughed and I think he thought I was crazy. However, I really think our guys do have a good shot at it. I was wondering what you guys think. Do you think that all of our runningbacks have a decent shot of making it to the league? If not, who doesn't and why?
  15. That was great man! Very creative. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  16. The likelihood of us being aggressive the first drive of the game is pretty good. In each game this year (yes that includes USC and all of the other games in which people complain about Cally's conservative playcalling) we have been aggressive with a lot of passes on the first drive. It seems like Callahan wants to do whatever it takes to score a TD on the first drive of the game. Remember the fakes against USC and K-State?
  17. I heard that Octavien got all of his issues straightened out(including academics) and that's why he got his blackshirt back.
  18. Early on in the season he was one of my least favorites of the backs. Now he is one of my favorites. I love watching that kid play. He plays with such passion and desire!
  19. Not only did he get his blackshirt back. He is now COMPLETELY healed from his injuries. It will be nice to have that speed back at the linebacker position. Here's to hoping he has a great game.
  20. You make a good point. I love that type of play calling- call exactly the opposite of what they think you are going to call. Callahan is a great offensive mind and whatever he comes up with will be good.
  21. I would love to see either of these kids playing for the Huskers. I'll welcome great players anytime we can get them.
  22. I sure hope he likes what he sees and commits. Does anyone have any clue how many star player he is and what he runs the 40 in? I love fast linebackers!
  23. If any of you think Bill Callahan will have Taylor come out slinging the ball everywhere, I think you are wrong. I think we will work hard to establish the run but will not completely rely on it. We will throw the ball to keep them off balance and to get first downs. Colt McCoy will have problems because of the electric environment in Memorial Stadium and because of the interesting blitz packages we have been cooking up lately.
  24. I've never had a seat in one of the very top rows but I have a friend that has. He said that the seat is great the only problem is that it's not as cool because it sounds funny. All of the deafening crowd noise is below you and you are kind of out of it. However, he was in one of the VERY top rows. You're seat in 71 should still be very good. I am thinking there are 94 or 96 rows. I can't wait for the game. 3 more days!!!
  25. Some of you think that Callahan does this conservative gameplanning in order to keep from getting embarassed. However, it is just a unique gameplan to win the game. Its purpose is to keep the ball away from the opposing team's offense. I have no clue what kind of gameplan Callahan is going to come up with and I'm not going to guess. All I know is that its exciting seeing what type of gameplan he comes up with each week. I can't wait to see what he has in store for the Longhorns. There is one more thing that I do know... Callahan has MANY tricks up his sleeve.
