  1. good analogy. i have a feeling we will be entering a period of time (maybe about 5 years) of .500 football at best. i would like to know peoples predictions of how this will play out in the near future.
  2. i think it is quite realistic. we should be able to eke out 2 more wins and then the independence bowl will be begging us to come down there. i for one can't wait!
  3. start making your reservations for shreveport. remember to pack a warm coat. it can get quite cold in lousiana during late decemeber.
  4. didn't he say he just needed to "clear his head" for awhile. that was priceless.
  5. i only get internet feed so i didn't see this interview, but online he was talking after the game. davision and another guy (wayne grindel (sp?)) were attemping to pick the play of the game and they finally agreed that it was screen pass to purify that was called back due to holding! you could hear the incredulousness and disappointment in his voice as they discussed this game. i hope this is rock bottom, but think it can and will get worse.
  6. hi all i have seen a couple of threads regarding the final score of this game, but would like everyone to give me their thoughts on how they see the game actually playing out, based off of both teams performances so far this season. in the old days of big red football you could almost invariably say that by the third and fourth quarters nebraska would wear down their opponenets and run at will on them. not the case any more. do we see misery start out fast and have a second half collapse that allows us to win or does their defense rise up and take away our running game completely and make us completely 1-dimensional. let me know your thoughts. i haven't had a chance to really see either team much on TV because of work schedule and don't have a real feel for how this game will play out.
  7. actually, before 2003, the last time we had lost in columbia was 1969! oops. retraction. you are right, it was 1973.
  8. actually, before 2003, the last time we had lost in columbia was 1969!
  9. He told me the same thing too, and I told him to hand me my pizza and get off my porch. best comeback of the week. outstanding!
  10. I think it's pretty hard to point the finger at him if this was the case because Pud has slammed the door on some of the big gift donors. Warren Buffet is only like the 2nd or 3rd richest individual in this country and Pud managed to piss him off. true enough. didn't buffet hold some kind of event for solich after he was let go thanking him for all of his years of service to the university. in addition, didn't buffet come out publicly against his firing? anyway, tough to get big donations when the premiere sport at the university is tanking.
  11. the fan base is killing this team?! so, if we were more positive and less critical ndamukong suh wouldn't get schooled by a freshmen center, terrence nunn holds onto game clinching pass receptions, and the offensive line actually run blocks?! Absurd! nebraska fans will continue to follow the huskers win or lose. we are simply tired of lack luster performances and the inability of the coaching staff to "coach" the players up.
  12. at least one. my guess is tommy frazier. you can't keep him out and probably should be in their top 5.
  13. True....and we still don't have one. and how long did it take Osborne to get the "Signature Win" his first game, when they rolled UCLA 40-13!
  14. i agree that they seemed to play with more intensity, but iowa state teachers college (the high school after high school) is not as good as ball state (or at least two other mac teams that they have lost to). this defense continues to have real problems and will continue to get torched throughout the season. progress?may ass!
  15. we are going to win this game and the defense has played a bit better, but this is frickin' , 1-3, iowa state teachers college we are playing. they have essentially controlled the clock and gained a ton of yardage on us. last part of the season will be brutal!
  16. maybe not laughable, but when he was asked about the defense giving up 600+ yards of offense, the reason he gave was that the defense was in a lot of man to man coverages and that they gave up most of the yards off of broken plays when the quarterback was scrambling and then was able to find an open receiver. i unfortunately had to listen to the game over the internet, but from their call it didn't sound like their quarterback was running all over the field because of heavy down linemen rush and slinging the ball and getting lucky. it sounded as if the down D-linemen couldn't get off of their blocks and the quarterback sat back and picked them apart.
  17. you beat me to it. i agree with your comments.
  18. hi all: i was just listening to the post game interviews with the coaches and players, and they had sam keller on. he really comes across as a good guy and somebody you want as your quarterback. maybe he has been "coached" to say all the right things by the staff and his father, but he really impressed me. in addition, he also had a great game today as well. during a season that will be a real roller coaster for the players and fans alike, i think we will be a consistent bright spot. GBR!
  19. i am so happy right now, but then it makes me think how far we have fallen when i give a sigh of relief after we luck out and beat a team from the MAC. go big red!?
  20. i only have the internet feed and the announcers blow, but they keep reiterating that the D-line cannot get off any blocks. does it look that bad live?
  21. I picked the wrong week to quit chewing! This crap of a game makes me want to puke! i picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue!
