    ConVICK

The difference is that people have free will and choose to engage in fights. Dogs that are trained to do so have no choice - they are beaten, starved, deprived of water, anything to make them fight. They fight or they suffer and die. That's so basic that I would have thought that it would be obvious. And pitt bulls are no different from other breeds - they are no more vicious than other breeds unless trained to be. And as for underperforming, if we apply the same logic to Vick, he would be facing a death sentence based on his performance in the NFL. Well said AR... But junior...ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? You are going to relate a human who is on death row for an appropriate reason to an innocent animal? Animals are much like babies and the mentally disable, they don't know what is right or wrong unless tought to them. Pitbulls have been given a very bad reputation because of people like Vick, they are the dog of choice in fighting because they look the meanest. Judgement on these animals are merely because of reputation, if you get a pitbull as a puppy, cause in case you don't know, they are a puppy at one time, if you treat them like you would your labs, they would be great dogs, protective of their family, "mans best friend", good with kids and people, and other animals. Like I said in another post about this, you can take a Lion and if treated well, it would be loveable like a kitten, and also same goes for bears. There are some bears that have been adopted when very young, and they were treated well, and are very harmless because of how they were taught. The same will go for a pitbull, again, they're judged over reputation. Animals like cows are meat, people need meat. Many cows are breed for that reason, pitbulls are not supposed to be breed to fight, it's unfortunate that they are in places. To relate humans to animals is so completely rediculous. People have their own mind, they choose what and what not to do for themselves. Boxing is a profession, gambling is a bad hobby. As a person with free will they CHOOSE what they want to do, animals do not have free will, what they are taught to do, they do. An innocent animal much like babies, unless you hate babies as well, they do not understand, they do not understand why they are being starved, why they are fighting, why they are being beaten. And then for them to be hanged, drowned, or electrecuted for SPORT is inhumane. Along with the people who don't see a problem with it. And what's most shocking about you're remarks is that you say you have labs. I have a lab/retriever mix and she is wonderful, labs are great dogs. But you say you don't have a problem with this? Do you make your dogs fight? Would you enjoy watching you're dogs fight until the death? Have your friends gamble on them?
  3. No, it isn't your Yankees...it's MY Yankees!! j/k, glad to see a fan on here BRI...isn't it fun?!?! MY YANKEES!! I am the New Yorker afterall I am abosultey IN LOVE with him and watching the kid pitch here lol. Such a confidence, he is a perfect fit for the Yankees. He handles the spotlight and pressure well, with great maturity, and isn't "in your face" cocky. Wonderful.
  4. They're not outlawing them because of people like Vick, they're outlawing them because they are aggressive in nature. That's certainly the argument that cities use, but the logic is flawed. There are statistics that show "propensity to bite" by breed, and pitt bulls rank right up there - but the statistics don't account for whether the animals acted due to conditioning or due to an inherently aggressive nature. I really always lean toward both. When it comes to people who are overweight....is it genetics or their behaviors or the "outside world"?? It's not the dog, is the person or people who own and train the dog. It's a shame that you could have the friendliest pitbull in the world (I know people who have several) and people INTENTIONALLY go out of their way to hurt these animals out of fear. My one friend, her dog got out, it's a pitbull, one of the nicest dogs I've come across, one of her neighbor's knowing very well that the dog belonged to her, threw large objects at it, hitting it several times. The dog never attacked, it just fell down. Luckily she is still alive and doing well. People like that make me absolutely sick. You could tame a Lion to be loveable like a kitten, it has actually been done before, also with other animals like bears.
  5. "if BRI becomes a MOD, i quit " I was thinking that... JK BRI (Go Yankees!) "God help us now...at least us WOMEN. " Congrats
  6. Couldn't you join them after you finish watching the game? Like go, leave, and then go back or something? Clearly they don't understand the importance of Husker football, and they don't know what a good team is. I think they all need a good training.
  7. Blush...who blushes? We need to work on you. At least you can get on here at work. I can't.
  8. So I just went back and read every post, (it's kind of gloomy out and I'm bored) Some of it was freakin funny. huskerdavo:you went from being a "post whore" to a "post-no-more" look at me cracking funnies. I need something to do
  9. He looks to good in Pin Stripes to be a Cardinal.
  10. I despise Michael Vick after this.
  11. Now if it happens to me, i figure it'll be you, and I know you are a husker fan, so I wouldn't be too worried. If they are just going to watch I'd be fine but a little weary, but I can take 'em, I'm from NY after all. haha
  12. Thanks Drowning. Unfortunately, I haven't really had any accidents lately except for my few bumping into things and little trips, nothing worth writing about though. Not yet anyway. It's still early.
