Mike Stoops is a head coach, I have a hard time believing that he would leave Arizona to be an assistant coach, even if he were to be fired! Look at Dan McCarney, he went from head coach to D coordinator at USF. Not too hard to believe. Dline coach/assistant coach

I was reading somewhere that this crazy season and craziness in CFB can be attributed to the growth of the spread offense which allows "lower" teams to compete with everyone.

Yea Im a student at usf and theres no way Leavitt leaves USF for anywhere. The guy is originally from the Tampa area and this is his team, his program, and they are a pretty good 11 year old program.

I dont know if this is a good idea. It might work but this is the same man who in a way forced the decision to name Solich as coach after him. Also I think he said he did support/recommend Pederson.

The program built its national reputation on a high-powered aerial attack, with the Red Raiders' defense lost in the shuffle over the years. But that has appeared to be changing over the past few weeks. Tech has responded to the fiery teachings of interim defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill, who has stamped the team with an aggressive, swarming philosophy since taking over after Lyle Setencich stepped down Sept. 23. McNeill appears to have lit a fire under the Red Raiders, as seen in a dynamic effort in the Red Raiders' 35-7 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday. The fire is hot enough that even though Tech quarterback Graham Harrell blistered the Aggies for 425 passing yards and three touchdown passes, Tech fans chanted McNeill's name as he left the field at Jones AT&T Stadium. "They probably had a little bit too much to drink," McNeill said, chuckling. "I love our [fans], but they were chanting my name, a big ol' guy? An ol' school, half-bald guy? They must have been talking about a different Ruffin." The Red Raiders have strung together three big defensive games since McNeill was named the interim coordinator. During that period, the Red Raiders have allowed opponents 257 yards and 10.3 points per game. Under Setencich, the Red Raiders were allowing 405.5 yards and 28.3 points per game. I think you have to give up on Levitt. I go to USF and there is no way with the program going the way it is he leaves. This is his program, his legacy, and if he were to ever leave it would not be now. Also he has already had multiple offers/interest shown earlier before his team was this successful and he didn't take them then theres very little chance he will take them now. But I do think you go the Jim Levitt direction. You get a successful DC that has potential and you let him go to work. Thats why I like Muschamp from Auburn a lot. Pelini would have been great also but that looks extremely unrealistic.

For this reason I think it is important that they get rid of Callahan after the next loss, then name Watson interim HC. This way everyone knows change is coming. Also we can get the search started sooner and hopefully find a good coach.

I think you remove Callahan and place Watson as the interim head coach. You form a search committee and start looking at potential candidates.

I heard a caller on USC talking about how he cant understand how any of the guys like Mckeon cant get up for the games when there are guys who would give one of their testicles for a chance to put on that uniform. The truest thing I have ever heard.
