  1. Yeah no kidding. Didn't LaVonte say that would be his role as well - nickel back? How good was Gomes this year? He amazed me....hell of a job!! I took it as LaVonte saying he'd be the LB in the nickel and dime. Basically playing Dillard's role from this year.
  2. Yep. How many schollies do we have available from last year? That isn't the issue, the overall 85 limit is. A school can take 25 players EACH year, NU will not come close to 25 this year so they have no annual scholarship crunch. The issue is that they don't have a lot of room against the overall team limit of 85, doesn't matter if it counts for last year or this year the issue is that they all count towards the 85. Thanks, I knew that but had a brain fart. Well, if anybody leaves the program (and there's usually 2-5 each year), then those schollies will be immediately useful. I'm not as worried as others that we don't have enough schollies. Attrition from both current players and decommits always seems to work out.
  3. Slight adjustment to previous idea: ESPN: ELAPSED SECOND PUNISHED NEBRASKA
  4. I've heard somthing similar. Basically based on how Moore and Randle look during bowl prep, Baker might move in the spring.

  6. "NCAA probing Tennessee's hostesses" Greatest. Subtitle. EVER.
  7. I haven't seen this posted yet. This article (and the comments at the end) is quite remarkable: link
  8. Can anybody provide a recap or a link to the segment?
  9. Gerhart is worthy of the Heisman, IMO, but Ingram is not. Nor is McCoy or Tebow. Helu has almost as many yards as Ingram. But Ingram is averaging over 6 ypc, while Gerhart has just over 5 ypc. I just can't see how any of those guys even holds a candle to Suh. My Heisman ballot would look like this: 1) Suh 2) Kellen Moore 3) Gerhart
  10. Wow, this has quickly become a meltdown, as all decommit threads do. Get over it, guys. The kid left for whatever reasons he claims. If he can't see how he'd be used in our offense, then I'd just as soon he go somewhere else. Nebraska football will continue on without him.
  11. I'd like to point out that Suh is actually leading the straight count and that the projections are based on historical regional bias. I really don't think the media on the coasts and the former winners are going to let a defensive player win, but I will mention that Suh being a non-traditional finalist as a defensive player may mean the projection is wrong. I have no proof, but it seems like this is the latest I've seen the majority of voters turn in their ballots.
  12. Is it just me, or is there no text in the first post?
  13. Yep, I'd take him if we strikeout on Cooper or Hill. Either way I'm not too worried - he could be a good player for us but I won't lose any sleep if he goes elsewhere.
  14. 23-13 Texas. Just not enough offense for NU to keep our D off the field.
  15. I believe it's due to the scheme. IIRC, the DE's had similar production in 2003 when Bo was the DC. And if you've got Suh and Crick on the interior, why wouldn't you scheme to help them make plays?
  16. Can we have official visitors for a game that isn't on campus? Or are these unofficial visits? Or will they be in Lincoln?
  17. My only question is why doesn't he do his mission before going to college? I know other players in the past have done that. It just makes more sense to me.
  18. Spiller picking up some votes now Spiller 99075 Suh 97473
  19. Can you really tell me the opposite? During recruiting would you have rather had O'Hanlon or Major Culbert? Who ended up being the better player? I don't want to rehash the whole recruiting rankings debate again, but how can you possible decide White is a better offer than Evans? It's all just opinions.
  20. I've never stayed there, but the Millenium Hotel is within walking distance of the stadium. Also, look at places in nearby towns of Louisville, Lafayette, and Superior. They are only a few minutes drive to Boulder.
  21. Wow. What ever happened to wanting to see good teams play each other? I don't care much for the mythical NC setup in CFB right now. I'm much more interested in seeing my Huskers play tough teams and entertaining games.
  22. This is definitely nepotism!! No way a 6'7", 250 lbs. player could ever succeed in football!! And I'm also sure none of the coaches has ever met him, seen him play, or watched film on him! I mean come on, the posters on Huskerboard have obviously watched and analyzed his play. So why can't the coaches do it and come to the same conclusions? I mean, they get paid for it right? Stupid coaches will never be as good at analyzing talent and recruiting players as us anonymous fans on the internet. P.S.
  23. That pretty much sums up my thoughts on this same topic every year. Same story, different recruit.
