People keep saying this, but the Dems since Clinton have adopted a third way policy that tries to be in the middle. The problem is that the right then moved farther right to distance themselves from the Dems. If you look at global politics, surprising to many is that Bernie Sanders is almost exactly in the "middle". So what "middle" do people want? The current middle of modern American politics, which is pretty much Biden? Global politics which is Sanders? Some imagined middle from their youth in America?
