  1. What is his forty yard dash? I have just heard nothing about this kid. I havent really heard anything for two years, not from practice reports, scout team, nothing. It just seems that they would have said something if he made strides or noise on the scout team. We will see though, I am more excited to see how Stafford, Lawrence and maybe Washington do this coming fall. I really think they will play in certain situations just because of their speed and athletisicm.
  2. Well in the article it said he is having severe family issues right now. So I doubt it has anything to do with his character. It just sounds like he is having some trouble, which would affect any young kids life. It appears he is trying his best and you cant really blame him for his family problems. His grandpa said that he has his heart set on going to Nebraska and they have a meeting set up with Callahan tom. to explain to him why he has attended three schools.
  3. He is transferring there bc of family issues. He wont even be able to play in tom. state bball game with prep, which would make me mad if I were him. However in the same article his grandparents said that his heart is set on going to Nebraska and they have a meeting set up with Callahan tom. to let him know why he has gone to three schools in three years. I really love this news bc I was afraid that he was going to get away from us much like it seems Robinson is going to this year. This guy will be as good or better than Paul. I watched him play three times this year and every time I watched him it was obvious he was ten times better than anyone on the field and he was a sophmore!
  4. Right now you might be able to say that Rudd has had a better career then Dillard or Octavian, but there is no way that he is better than either one of them. They both are three times as athletic, and when healthy Octavian is head and shoulders above Rudd. Dillard is bigger, stronger and faster than Rudd. However the only problem is he has only played sparingly thanks to him being injured all of last year.
  5. The Texans have to be one of the dumbest franchises in all of sports. They first pass up on all-world reggie bush and instead take a DE that got about 2 sacks all year. Now I am not bashing on Green or anything but he is 31 years old I believe, and to give someone that much money at his age just doesnt make any sense to me. They could have got a guy in the second or third round and still addressed some of their other needs. They could have picked up a guy like B-Jax or Kenny Irons, or Tony Hunt. If they didnt want to do that then they could have maybe got Adrian Peterson and if not then guarentee they get at least Marshawn Lynch. They just wasted a lot of money, bc they dont have a line to make any holes for him anyway.
  6. This just doesnt make any sense to me at all. If Mceon was going to move to WILL why wouldnt he have done it last year? They still had all the people they are going to have this year. If that was going to happen the season would have started with Mceon and Octavian at WILL and Dillard and Brandenburgh at MIKE and Bradley and Rudd at SAM. I really dont think they will move someone who has started at a position for two years and done a good job. IMO the only shifting will be done by Dillard and he will move to SAM. On here the only rumors I have heard are that Mceon will move to SAM and Dillard will stay at MIKE. Now we get to hear California Huskers professional opinion about the size of linebackers again. IMO the lineup should and probably will be: WILL: Rudd/Ocativain MIKE: Mceon/Brandenburgh SAM: Dillard/Brandenburgh This backups all depend on if Stafford, Covey, or Lawrence step up and get into the rotation. Letting Brandenburgh concentrate on one position would be a lot better along with giving the team some more depth and needed rest.
  7. Ya, I dont know if it looks very good to get him. That makes three trips to ND and he said that he plans to go to one of Michigans spring practices and while hes up there he'll stop at ND again. That will make four trips before the summer even starts. He lives 30 min. away from Lincoln and yet hes only been there twice, or maybe even once? That just doesnt add up to me. On the other hand he might know what to expect from Nebraska and is just giving all the other schools the same chance. I dont know though, it doesnt look very good.
  8. Well it appears that we are not even in on this guy. On rivals it doesnt even have us his interest list. I thought we were sending everyone after this guy. It also says he has a 45 inch vertical.
  9. I think Potter and Turner will be the starters, if nothing else bc of experience and knowledge of the scheme in Potters case. I know nothing about Mike Smith, but he is the only person who I know of that was playing that position who came back besides Potter. I really think if Townsend is here for the entire fall camp he will be in the running for the starting position at base along with Steinkhuler, IMO. Turner is a lock for open IMO, after him I think the competition is a good one bt Yancy and Allen. They are both built in the same mold, about 6'5 250 lbs, and both seem to be very athletic. Throw in Jared Crick and I think we have a pretty good line. Of course the only one proven so far is Turner, and the only time I saw him get driven back was at A&M and he was getting double teamed. However the attributes are there so it is just a matter of them getting the chance to finally prove themselves. Its hard to get playing time when you have two d-ends who will be playing on sundays who are seniors playing in front of you.
  10. I just dont think that will happen. I think that the secondary will be the strength of our defense with Asante and Bowman now in the lineup. Green will be in the same position for two years in a row for the first time and flashed his talent at times last year. Bowman will be our shut down corner, he will always be on the other teams best guy. Because of that the other corner doesnt have to play as well, unless we are playing USC or Texas and even Texas doesnt have the greatest receivers besides Sweed. Culbert, Thenarse and West could all contribute if necessary. I think we will see drastic improvement in Jones next year. He has all the physical tools possible, I just dont think he was used to the speed and didnt understand the defense a lot of the times, that wont be the case next year.
  11. Wasnt Bill Callahan the offensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders when they went to the AFC title game, and called the plays for them when they were in the super bowl? I think he was, so what makes you guys think that he cant call the plays in college. This guy is an offensive genious and I trust what he is seeing justifies what he does on the field. Now is he perfect? No he does make some mistakes and he has even admitted to doing so. However the majority of the time I think he knows exactly what he is doing. I personally voted for solich to be gone. I didnt think he was a good coach or recruiter. I think callahan is both, and only time will tell if my opinion is the correct one.
  12. Ya there is no doubt we are loaded on offense. There are seven receivers that are capable of playing next year, and playing well. Our line is going to be much improved and Lucky and Glenn will finally break out IMO. There is no reason to think that our offense cant put of 40 points per game.
  13. You dont mean dodge city cc do you? I dont think we should recruit any more jc qb's unless they have the same situation as Lee where he has four years to play three and is almost like a high school kid, and he was the number on qb in the nation so that makes sense, but I hope we are done w juco qb's.
  14. Ok there are exceptions and Jarret Lee is one of them. However Marvin Austin knows he has a great chance of starting as a freshman, and Garret Green went to USC, one of the places that I said can pretty much get anyone. Along with Josh Freeman going to KSU to start right away. I am not saying that I want these guys either, my point was that it seems that unless youre USC, Texas, or a Florida school your depth chart is looked at a lot closer, IMO.
  15. I hope you mean that Lee will be the backup and Ganz will be third string. I dont think there is any way that Keller will get beat out. As far as defensive line I think we are perfectly fine. Turner is going into his third year and will be a force next year. Potter right now is unknow but has the tools to be very good. Throw in Townsend and Yancy at the end spots and we have two deep at each spot. That doesnt include that IMO Steinkuhler will be a DE next year as well. Suh, Johnson, Barfield, and Dixon will be the rotation on the interior with possibilities of Jensen, and Davis seeing some time as well. The secondary will be a strong point of our defense next year, the additions of Bowman and Asante are going to prove to be drastic. We have very solid depth at all positions and will allow us to use dime and nickel which we couldnt run last year, those are the situations where you let turner and possibly yancy to there thing. We lost only one linebacker from a unit that was pretty decent last year, throw in the possibility of one guy among Washington, Lawrence and Stafford in there and I think we have a damn good unit coming back. I am not sure why there is all the doubt about o-line. Huff did start for a big portion of the year, however down the stretch younger players showed their worth, and that wasnt even counting players like Barret, and Williams. Throw in Jones and possibly Burkes and that is still a good line. They made HUGE strides from 05-06 and there is no reason not to expect the same in 07. I dont even need to talk about the receiver or qb position. Running back is just fine, Lucky is fine and Glenn might even be able to take part in spring drills but if he cant he will definately be ready by fall. We really do have solid depth at every position finally and I agree that with some breaks and some strides by the team we could possibly play in the NC and should be the favorite to win the whole big 12.
  16. My point was that this day in age players are so concerned with playing right away, and if there is no chance they will go to some place that will allow that. Unless you are USC, Texas, or one of the Florida schools it seems to me at least that you have to be a little bare to get top notch athletes. If you look at the top 20 players this year they are all pretty much going to USC, Texas, Florida, LSU, and Tennessee otherwise to places that they will play right away.
  17. didnt it also say on rivals that he was very impressed with Nebraska and that he plans to go to there camp in the summer? He also said he has grown to about 6'5 and put on some weight. We are also in on I think three qb's in the initial top 100.
  18. Man this seems to be a great class for linebackers and its clear we are in on a ton of good ones. Its also clear that, to the pleasure of myself and obviously others, the coaches know that it takes greesy, fast speed (mick from rocky) on defense to win. This guy looks like a good one, 6'2 200 lbs and 4.5 forty, I would love this guy at linebacker or maybe even safety.
  19. If he end up at Michigan he must have wanted to go there for a long time and playing time must not matter to him at all. Seeing as how Michigan signed the best qb in the nation last year IMO, its pretty clear to me that he would be sitting behind him for the next three or four years, if hes ok with that then more power to him.
  20. I am not saying that this doesnt hurt, but I think we are fine. If Murtha does FINALLY step up, with the addition of Jones, Nicks, and not that I want this but if it comes to that we could always move Slauson back to tackle. I know he is more of a guard. However we have Barret, Williams, Hickman and Christenson on the inside. It hurts no doubt but not that of a crushing blow, plus Huff will probably be back for the start of the season. Hopefully
  21. I was just thinking about where he actually went to play, and if he is going to be able to play this year. It would sure be nice to have him now. He would probably be at safety and him and Asante back there would be awesome! Green is pretty good though I think.
  22. I didnt see Dwayne Jarret on any of the timings. Did he not participate today and going a different day or what is the deal? Also speaking of Jarret on all the mock drafts he is around 10 as well and he was like all-world in college so I dont think Carriker going like 12 or somewhere around there is too bad. I think with Bradley speed and size he is a possible first rounder as well. It would be great to have three first day guys along with a second day quarterback...its a step!
  23. Wow, I didnt know the first round of the draft is already done!
  24. I am not sure which guy I would rather have. I would rather have the better guy for the job obviously but what I am saying is as far as recruiting what area I would rather have better knowledge of. If a guy comes from ohio st. that would enable us to recruit an area of the country we dont have very good success at and there is obviously some very good talent at. On the other hand we recruit Cali heavily and that could possibly boost our success there. I am only talking about this with the mention of being tight ends coach, so I assume hed be out recruiting.
