  1. in college we called this the chicken wing our coach said throw a bone in his throat
  2. okay, slight interpretation: garcia tackled by ref/gamecocks
  3. sorry guys i am on a spanish computer and cant read the writing on how to bring in the link...its out there somewhere though on youtube!!
  4. thats what im sayin!! is it worse that the ref tackled him, OR that the QB got tackled by a ref LOL!!
  5. go to youtube and search: Gamecocks QB taken out by Refs its unbelieveable seriously, its unbelieveable
  6. nice dig on the stats, bro...I think the difference for me, personally, between this year and last when comparing these stats is it just seemed a matter of time before the dam burst last year...and it finally did against OSU, who we are finding out is a good team... For sure this year we are starting better and surely finishing better. besides mizzery, it seems we have been putting up a good fight til the end, whereas last year after we were down, it was a very slippery slope a la the dam breaking in wash out losses for us last year. Remember this too (very important, I think): this is a first year coach and we are seeing improvement week to week in many areas, maybe not all at once, but seeing improvement nonetheless....last year we had a coach in his FOURTH year and we saw DI-gression week to week, especially after 5 or 6 weeks. I want us to win as bad as anyone, but to me, this isnt about this year per se...steady, marked improvement is the order. and your stats back it up, methinks. btw: i am in Canary Islands working this week, tonite is my first day off. however i caught the second half on internet radio yesterday...tonite 949pm, i am gettign a nice buzz on by the pool talking to some nice spanish people!! bottoms up!! oops i meant on saturday, the jet lag has me reelin, but the Huskers have me cheerin!!
  7. greetings from west Africa everyone...just found a computer here, how are we doing??
  8. sorry didn't bring the link over, but ESPN.com has a "Bottom 10" they do each week...at the bottom of the list is an "in waiting" and it has us on there at 3-3. I can see after a 5-7 record last year and 3 straight losses, but all 3 were to ranked teams, and 2 of them we actually had a shot at winning. I don't really pay attention, but I thought I'd share.

I thought it curious not to have a zone/man coverage for Crabtree too. I realize they spread it out, but that guy should NEVER be guarded by one man. I have a question about our DB's...where is Major Culbert?? It said he was active and dressed during the game but saw no action!! it seemed like the last couple years he could have been a bright spot but saw no actio, now we have 3 walkons seeing action in our secondary, but not him. I totally trust the coaches, they know who is ready but man, he must have RE-gressed.
  10. We played hard, we played to the finish, we fought back, we got tough on offense and defense...There was much infighting in HuskerNation last year because some of us said, "If we were playing hard, the Nebraska Way, etc...we can deal with the loses and give the staff time, etc..." And others said, "Bullcrap, everyone would be calling for heads no matter how the team fights, if we're losing...Don't give me this mythical "Nebraska Way"... So here's the question: Are we true to our word? This team is obviously starting to have an attitude shift more towards the Nebraska Way of fighting and such. I for one hated losing yesterday, but actually held my head high cuz we fought hard the whole game and showed some friggin life out there. With the last staff, in my own mind, they were on a very short leash cuz the players they were coaching straight up quit during games. But with Pelini, I truly am willing to give him time cuz his players fight hard. your thoughts?
  11. well, i see one positive trend with the o-line. they are redshirting Henry and Steinkhuler. Maybe they are saving some of their bad asses, giving them time to get stronger, meaner, learn technique of the new system without braking their balls in games like MU? Kind of like the old days when only Shields, Fonoti, or Raola were good enough to play right away.
  12. I agree. Except with a far less negative tone. My brother was at the Game and kept texting and calling me asking what it looked like on TV replays and stuff and I told him we are simply one step behind on defense, and have no threat of breaking one on offense. Alas, I would suspect that privately, the coaches are collectively watching each week the younger kids playing and deciding who belongs and who has to go. Whether the players know it or not, they are being tested for their own future by the way they perform right now. Osborne and Pelini are probably evaluating each of the current Callahan players that are getting PT who aren't seniors and seeing how it will shake out.
  13. does anyone know the fastest, easiest way to get PPV in Denver for the game today? I'm having about 12 Cornhusker fans over and need to get it...
  14. Ive got 4 tickets to the game this saturday. Two together and the other two together. before we list on craigslist or stubhub, i thought I'd give you guys a heads up first. North end zone bout row 90, right in the middle. still able to see the Huskervision. great endzone view of the entire field. my dad is an alum and my brother and I along with my dad purchased 4 tickets w/ donation, when Osborne invited the lettermen back. we went to the first 2 games but cannot make it to this one. they are $75 dollars each, which is what we paid for them. my dad can overnight them today or tomor and will be there by fri at the latest. my number is 720-838-7904
  15. I see a bigger trend towards long-term growth and re-establishment of identity. case in point: everyone has been harping on Henry since the start of fall camp, sounds like he may redshirt. Baker Steinkhuler had 5.75 stars coming in, haven't heard a peep about him except he needs more work. Instead of getting to game plans and scrimmages full of fireworks during fall camp, Pelini says they work on teaching the smallest fundamentals EVERY day... basically, it sounds like the Blackshirts are a work in progress and will be doled out on merit. Just like Captains and playing time. I love it...
  16. starting wide out has been susepended for his 2nd DUI arrest, per ESPN.com
  17. i think the best part that proves Ray's post is that JGS30 says she bought season tickets THIS YEAR!! if she had the kind of confidence and level of a fan of a good program rather than a one year wonder, she would have had them sooner...now she's drunk on kool aid
  18. I remember his day very well...I was sitting in a OhioState bar on Clarke Street in Chicago, I had just moved there 5 months ago...I asked the waitress if she could put on the Nebraska game, tuned it into a tv about 6 inches in diameter...As NU started getting pummeled I ordered another round, no one gave me much notice because I was wearing red, NU red, not OSU red, nonetheless: the whipping insued...I called my brothers and said, "I think the new coach was a mistake" He puts in a freshmen....you know the rest Since then: moved to Colorado, had 2 kids, suffered through the drought...has it really been 4 years?? Yet here is Beau Davis--still standing His story gives me hope for the Cornhuskers He outlived the 'Dark Ages' Even piles of sh#t couldn't damper his attitude I think we'll be okay, simply because this guy has been through more with our team and still loves it as much as we do, he can be a link. What we were before, where 'he' f'd it up, and where we are now. we still have good kids who Play for Nebraska...Go Big Red
  19. sorry, I just whole-heatedly disagree with this statement as our motto for this year...Here's why 1. I believe too--in God, not some 'destiney' of our beloved football team 2. EVERY stinking team whoever makes some kind of magical run during a season and sees that there is a possibility of postseason success, or what have you, has a couple thousand fans show up at games with these dumb-ass signs that read "We Believe" Case(s) in point: 2000 Anaheim Angels with there monkey's and 'believing' 2003 Chicago Cubs and Steve Bartmann--they all 'believed' 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers they 'believed' they could win it for the Bus 2006 Golden State Warriors after 40 games of near empty seats, they make the post season and suddenly 18,000 fans a nite (including Snoop Dogg) all of a sudden 'believe' and upset the Mavericks 2007 Kansas Jayhawks years of sub-mediocrity suddenly reverses into a sea of beaks who have 'believed' in their fatman(gino) since the beginning and ride their faith to the first successful season since 95 I could go on and on with the 'Believing' fans do, when after futility, they suddenly have enough faith and 'believing' that for some magical 3 months everything is going to be in their favor...I personally think it is played out and not even truly applicable to 'believe' in a team during a sporting event....there, I said it Maybe something like: ReturNebraska
  20. I honestly think BC was so egotistical that when he was running the ball up someones arse 12 straight plays, he would ditch it and start passing it 12 straight plays just to say, "hey, we can, uh...move the ball, you know, competitively down the field in many, uh...you know, different ways." When Nebraska was Nebraska we would run it 12 plays and if they weren't stopping it run it 12 more. We wouldn't fool around. I think that is what has everyone exicted about Pelini: He seems like he just wants to win and not show everyone what a genius he is. No ego and no foolin around.
  21. man, i gotta say, Courtney Brown LEAPS off the video with his extremely quick acceleration, head-hunting hitting, and great angles...he will be a star under Pelini. There were guys on my college team who didn't attack like that guy.
  22. i don't agree... I think Ganz is the answer to exactly the problem you think exists. He's not just a senior QB replacing last year's senior, he's started 3 games and played in 7 over his career. He's not some stopgap transfer or juco guy, he clearly has his heart and mind for Nebraska. He actually put up some good numbers and helped us compete in games he started. Now, do I think he is going to be outstanding and help us win 10-11 games? Not necessarily, but he could be the bridge from Callahan's pro 'stystem' to Pelini's 'play with guts' guy we need. I think Pelini will play the guy who deserves it most, and if that guy is Ganz, i'll be happy with that.
  23. i quit reading this after i saw him excuse Nuehisel. doesn't think Pelini knowing the 'Nebraska Way' is a good reason, but wants to look the other way about millions of dollars in legal fees, public embarassment, NCAA sanctions, ruined reputations, et al.??!!?? we shall see, we shall see.
