  1. wellp, i've read every post of every thread since the game. and i think this is what i think: 1. USC is as good or better than we thought. they have a great chance to win the whole thing. 2. We are not as good or worse than we thought. we still have a lot to play for including respect. 3. Some players fought hard till the end. we have some ballers but need an attitude adjustment. 4. Something on the coaching staff needs to change. Probably on defense. Coz has to figure it out. 5. Lots of negatives, but we can learn and grow from those. Lets stay positive cuz we still have a lot more games 6. The Sea of Red looked badass from my vantage point and we should be proud of our state and football team. 7. Its just one game of a long season. We will see many more successes and a few more failures, for sure. 8. Lets start talking about next week cuz this one's OVER! 9. Our players, coaches, trainers, cheerleaders, scout team, huskervision, fans, moms, dogs, etc...want to try harder and get better to WIN. we are 2-1 and will probably be 3-1 after next week. Let's stick together and support. 10. GO BIG RED
  2. 60 HERBSTREITS PER HOUR!! HOLY sh#t, AL 'HIPPY' GORE WAS RIGHT ABOUT THOSE CAT5 HURRICANES!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. i think we are where we are because we're 2 and 0 and also in large part because of the teams who were in front of us lost or played poorly. we've done our part by winning and other teams who were in front have fallen off. all we can do is play and beat the teams on our schedule. that's all we have control of. we should move up if that keeps happening. every week it does, we become less overrated, if you want to call it that
  4. i saw it too. but i think what happens is, the stick isn't being held straight up and down, then, when the TV camera gets it's close up you can't see the refs straighting out the stick so is seems a lot closer or even over then it originally appears. the padding was loose too, but that didn't really confuse. at first i was like, what the hell!! but then i figured it was the TV angle or something.
  5. yes, i have been to the upper north west in winter. have you ever been to Lincoln or Craphattan or Lawerence in Nov? i've been to all of them. and trust me, when the freezing rain is coming down sideways, ice is on your mouth piece and the wind is blowing 30 mph without one tree or rock to slow it down, it's a hell of a lot colder than picturesque seattle or oregeon. you should leave the coast sometime to see how REAL pioneers live, sucka. i will agree with you that i love SC's competition at every position. the weak sisters fall off and the rats jump ship if they're not tough enough to handle it.
  6. the only thing i didn't like seeing was Coz's interview with the LSJ yesterday on huskerfootball.com he basically said, "we didn't make an adjustment to stop the reverse until the 3rd quarter because it was a triple read play...with 3 different options they could audibilize to depending on how we adjusted..." i don't like him saying this publicly because to me it indicates a few things: 1. they were dictating our response instead of them adjusting to us 2. it sounds like an excuse for letting 2-3 plays burn us over and over 3. players need to believe their coach is putting them in the best position to make plays and if he can't figure it out, they won't 4. he obviously reconginized a problem with a particular set of plays and didn't do anything about it. personally, i think our D needs more fire and intensity and motor. the truth is, it CAN be taught or coached. nothing our D does seems to be REALLY decisive, almost playing on our heels. i know players make big plays sometimes, but they need to dictate the tempo and intensity and i think that that comes from coaching!! if we get raped by teams this year without seeming to make quick, decisive, effective adjustments then i would think Cally has to look at another solution.
  7. also, if we were in the sh#t-Pack 10, would that mean that USC and ASU, etc.. would have to come to Lincoln in late November and leave their warm cushy weather behind? they couldn't handle the cold. a lot of those softies have never even seen snow. i would love teams from year-round-warm-climates come here in late fall and play in freezing rain.
  8. am i mistaken or wasn't 'amand green' aka in Husker country as Ahman Green, from Omaha?
  9. i think BC is doing fine. i'm glad he went for it on 4th down. i honestly, honestly believe he puts players in a great position to make plays and it is up to our players to EXECUTE. dropped passes and missed tackles are not his fault. even the players say after games, "it was a great game plan, and we executed it perfectly." after wins or "the plays were there to be made, we just didn't make them." after losses the better the players we keep getting, the less the execution mistakes will be made.
  10. and none of our usual shifting...
  11. wow, i'm glad someone else thinks this too!! I don't know about 50 or a ploy, but i was thinking why we didn't dominate them, and as i was explaining to my little bro, it hit me: we were pretty vanilla on offense and didn't get too crazy with schemes on defense. to be certain Wake played well enough to win and we had our hands full upfront, but i think BC didn't show too much for SC. no trick plays, no reverses, only one screen i can remember, lots of basic out routes by WR, etc...just a hunch, but i bet it gets opened up quite a bit next week.
  12. i think the first time we will have answers to these questions will be when we are under fire in a tight game and have to rise to the occasion. against Nevada, they showed a little of it: INT for TD and then a very tough drive right back down for a score that put us ahead for good. can we drive 75 yds against WF down 21-10 (God forbid)?
  13. make a sign that says something creative and catchy, to be sure it gets on tv. when you see your sign on the giant monitor by the stage, pull the rope attatched to the sign with cat-like quickness to reveal yet another, more accurate sign: HEY **** HERBSTREIT & MARK GAY: GO f#*k YOURSELVES
  14. NU 31 WF 13 ruhsing 198 passing 262 (one d/special team TD)
  15. you know what i mean. they are at the bottom of the division and ISU and CU are in a hole in the division. i have been watching NU beat KU 40 out of 42 years. don't get smart alec with me, son...I'll go Mangino on you.
  16. i think our 17 ranking is reasonably fair.
  17. i just can't believe the Big XII gets zero respect (sometimes, deservedly so) and then Geogia and Auburn barely beat two of the bottom feeders in their respective Big XII divisions (OSU, KSUcks) and they are still ranked 12, and 13?!? I'm not saying they deserved to drop real far or anything but I think it proves the SEC is a little overrated.
  18. i think KU is turning a corner too. but let's not use words like 'legit' and 'guru' until you play a quality opponent. i'm sorry but CMU just isn't that great. and planning on beating KSUcks by thinking a player (Freeman) will play bad instead of you guys playing good, well...that's not how a legit team earns respect. they dominate them. KU is on the rise, but when you're rising from the bottom, it's still a long way up.
  19. yeah, more Throwing of the Bones. even my non-Husker friends think its cool. also, i would have liked to see a couple more turnovers caused by some swarming and hard hits. but they only ran 55 plays, so it's okay i guess. as long as we stay injury free (steinkuhler) we should have a good enough D to get the stops when we need them. and also, there we no big plays!!
  20. yeah, i thought culbert ran with that kind of 'hit me if you dare' style. reminded me a little of BJax. just get goin , so to say. i liked castille a lot. i still think Glenn, if 100% should get the nod because of experience. but i gotta tell ya, looked a little gimpy on his cuts. if he's not 100% i think castille and culbert will be just fine as backups.
  21. maybe i'm looking in the wrong place, who won the nevada prediction contest?
  22. once again the 'Coasts' thinking they need to enforce themselves on us. i could give a rats butt about BC-Wake except the fact we play Wake. i wanted to watch frigging second teamers who have been bustin their humps get some action. man i was pissszzzed off
  23. did you say 'not as bad as here however'? tarheeltrojan? meaning we have worse fans than you somehow? sheesh. you spend a lot of time on here for someone who thinks lowly of us.
  24. i'm sure you guys are SICK of me saying it, but this is why i think most freshman should redshirt. i know he got hurt his soph season, but he would be more mature mentally to deal with it now. also, if he wasn't a huge contributor this season he could still have 2 more years after this one. i hope he comes back strong, you can never have enough good RB's. what if Lucky or Castille, or both go down? we still need glenn to have a strong presence on this team.
