  1. Gary Pinkel has to be coming close isnt he?
  2. The last I knew of, and its been a few years since I used the visitor tickets, those tickets didn't have the guarantee on the back. Do visitor tickets get the normal print ups now?
  3. Yeah it was Koch. He was one of our most valuable defenders that year and IMO it was well deserved.
  4. The cotton bowl will take OSU if they are still available, which puts us in the Holiday bowl. The only way we go to the Cotton Bowl is if Okie State makes the Fiesta which I wouldn't be surprised to see, they would maintain that Big XII tie in.
  5. There are no restaurants right next to the stadium. There is no Denny's in Lincoln but there are a couple Village Inn's and a Perkins though.
  6. ...and the last time I was there for the 06 Cotton Bowl, it looked like the stadium could have crumbled if there was a stiff breeze... I was right there with ya in the stadium. But remember that starting this year it's new home is Jerry Land in Arlington. I would love to go see this stadium for a bowl game, plus it would be kind of neat to see the Cotton Bowl from both stadiums.
  7. Can I bring to the table that Henery is only in his first year of punting EVER. I think he has done damn well all things considered. This is quite the improvement over what we have had the past few years. Quite frankly we were spoiled for years and years with the punters we have, and Alex can only get better IMO.
  8. I'm glad Gill got his shot. He needs to be a head coach. I'd rather he went somewhere other than KU but it will be a step up and a lot more money for him. I think the fat coach's plight is a good lesson in not being an Ahole if you have a real sucky season. After two straight bowl games the wheels fell off this year. But it seems all the nastiness he sewed as a human being is coming home to roost. I think it is something our HC might take note of and avoid "sideline browbeating TV". Any personality usually works if you are winning....but woe be unto you if you have a fall apart season. Looks like this is the year the fat man pays for arrogance of the past. Yelling at a kid or coach for messing up is one thing. Taking a swing at a couple of players after the CU game, because you had a nervous breakdown, is an entirely different situation. I dont always agree with Bo's sideline actions, but I get the feeling he would never physically hurt any of his kids... Mangino on the other hand may not be capable of such restraint. Whoa how did I miss this? He took swings at players?
  9. A good coordinator would adapt to the talent we have. Watson hasn't shown us very much so far this year about his abilities. He has changed as of late, but the jury is still out on many issues.
  10. I have friends trying to tell me that TO actually called a few plays the last few weeks. Anyone else hear anything about that? I know the article talks about his input, but thats different from calling plays.
  11. He would have had similar results because he was an average college Quarterback. He wouldn’t have excelled in “Barney’s System” anymore then he did in Billy C’s. If you remember Barney was supposedly brought in to have a more balanced offense that could actually throw the ball. When Dailey played his Frosh year he didn’t do anything that should have made anybody think “Wow our future is bright” although some of the goofs in the Nation did. They based him being a potential stud off of a mop-up duty duck that he completed against Utah State. When brought in against ISU after Lord spotted him 28 points the offense and Dailey proceeded to lay a big fat turd. Dailey couldn’t throw the ball, was an average runner and people only had boners for him because he was the 2nd string QB behind Lord who they all detested (for some reason). Also if I’m not mistaken Dailey said in an interview that his High School team ran an offense similar to the WCO (waits for someone to say “link please”). As far as Frankie and QB’s go, he got burned a couple times (Dukes, Crawford) and the 2nd choice guys (McLaughlin, Stunz) he brought in weren’t D-1 QB’s. Agreed. As I said Dailey was a victim of an offensive system switch. For all we know he could have been a great option QB, but was never given the chance and I think he got a lot of blame that was undeserved. Solich recruited him as an option QB then tried to switch the system up with Cotton. For all we know an option attack would have worked, but we are left to wonder because the kid was not a good passer. The biggest problem in college is teams not being flexible with their offense. Offensive systems need to be tailored to the personnel not making the players fit the system. Dailey was just caught in the middle IMO.
  12. Thank you that was the page I was looking for.
  13. The problem with Dailey, as has been stated, was that he was recruited as an option QB and had to adjust into Cally's system. The kid caught a lot of crap which wasn't really his fault. Yes running out of bounds shy of the 1st marker on 4th wasn't his best moment, but still. It was like a square peg in a round hole (kind of like our offense now at times). Lord was a good athlete, he just didn't have much talent around him on offense.
  14. Ive been told that if you call the ticket office they can send you a broken down chart of the stadium and your donation amount can be related. It does have to maintain that level every year I would guess. I have to maintain mine.
  15. From Huskers.com: Text Messaging with UNL Police Starting on game days in 2009, fans at Memorial Stadium will be able to utilize a new text-messaging reporting system to quickly summon the UNL Police. In case of emergencies or to report a disturbance in your area, send a SMS text message to 41513, keyword UNLPD. Then type in your compliant and location. Standard SMS text messaging rates will apply. This is a two-way texting system that will allow the UNL Police to respond back, as needed.

  17. Thanks so much for the help guys. We are trying to get something from this to distribute to the families of this unit.
  18. Did anyone happen to get a picture or video of either one of the troop vids? PM me
  19. My friends ARMY unit, who is serving in Afghanistan, is having a video message during the game tonight. If anyone could get a pic or video of it that would be great as I don't have the best view of the screens. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.
  20. 100% Correct. Making a good defensive coach means you have to understand offense. Who would be better to figure out an offense than a defensive coach. The ultimate chess match is figuring out how to make your defense stop an offense, while designing an offense that can overcome your defense. Its not like a D coordinator just sits and thinks "my defense will work against anything" like a former coordinator seemed to do. The study film, I think a "defensive guy" being more hands on with the offense is a good thing. Look at Pete Carrol with USC. He is the defensive coordinator but has his hands on the offense. How else do you think they have survived losing their coordinators in the past few seasons yet maintain a high level of production.
  21. When discussing the subject of injuries healing properly or not two words come to mind. Kenny Wilson. I know he is one of the rare cases but for every Barry Turner at one end of the spectrum there is a Kenny Wilson who just never recovers from injuries/set backs.
  22. If we want to talk about specific positions that are causing problems I want to nominate the Offensive Line. WAY to many penalties
  23. I personally loved seeing the jerseys of our defensive lineman being pulled on every other play...no way that's holding. (sarcasm)
