  1. For most USC fans I would expect that, but not informed "Husker Fans". (For some people in this thread I use that term very loosly) You responded so fast I couldn't even get my edit in! What edit?
  2. So youre saying we should give money to those who suck and no one cares about.......ya thats the competitive spirit alright.........or charity
  3. This is exactly the kind of kid we need, he knows about sacrifice, dedication and hard work.....Great addition, this team needs some heart and mental toughness and I think thats what he will bring. Cant wait to see him on Satudays.......GBR
  4. IMO he doesnt have a very good chance, not that hes not a good player, were just deep at that position right now. Not sure if he plays X or Y but Nunn, Swift, Peterson, Henry, Hardy, Erickson, and Purify (probably will be back) will provide alot of competition, but most of all Menelik Holt(6-4 215) who is a year younger, taller, stronger and faster than Brookes(6-2 210) and played over him last year....7 WR with considerable time(Henry does not).....sure anything is possible, but not likely.
  5. I'd love to see Thomas Lawson in the mix this year, he runs like a truck, and good speed for a big guy.
  6. thats what i was thinking Althouhg according to Huskers.com we have three No. 1s on our team. Bowman, Blue, and Chris Brooks.....interesting. Perhaps we have just seen one person who will be redshirting this year. Another interesting note: Both Witt and Culbert are listed as 6 playing offensive positions (another foreshadowing of redshirts?) Blue, Brookes, and Witt have almost no chance of getting on the field this year, but I'm excited about them for next year, they will all need to step up big to get on the field even then! Blue will probably have the best chance in 08 of the group.
  7. For most USC fans I would expect that, but not informed "Husker Fans". (For some people in this thread I use that term very loosly) Sometimes its not being realistic its just being negative.
  8. Wow!.....OK......soooo you guys are buddies then?
  9. Its not that youre fundamentally wrong, its just the points that you are coming up with are IMO exagerated, our WR's , our O line vs thier D line, and the team speed gap is there but just not to the extent for people to call this massacre bull$hit.
  10. A lot of what is said points to his lack of control of what was going on and everything started to spiral out of control. I'd pick it up if you can. OK, I guess I will just have to buy it!
  11. this is why Mo is considered nfl caliber. most passing teams have a couple guys that snag about everything, no matter who throws it....we HAD one. those young guys better learn to catch, I can't stand how many dropped passes resulted in 4th down the last couple of years . in an offense which uses short quick passes to control a lot of the game we need a consistent set of hands. wonder what would have happened if 75% of the dropped passes were actually caught? Terrence Nunn would have been an All American. Nice one!
  12. Exactly what I was referring to. They very easily could of used both Jackson and Lucky in the backfield last year, especially on pass plays to get more play makers on the field. Using Castille as a fullback on some sets gives BC the option of motioning lucky out of the backfield for mismatches in the passing game and still leaves him with a running threat behind Keller. Well I suppose you are right about the RB's, thats the only possition he did'nt mix and match, good call.
  13. I wish FS the best.....as long as its with someone else! Go Ohio!
  14. I barely know where to start.....first of all I would like to nominate that guy for Dusche Bag of the Year......seriously. Tarheeltrojan on the other hand does try to take a more objective, thoughtful approch, and I have to give him credit for that.(still wrong though) If you think that losing DJ and SS at WR isnt going to matter, youre kidding yourself. Even though USC had great RBs to replace Bush and White, their running game was affected by thier absence. USC will successfully use thier O-line to lean on our D-line in the rushing game because thats the biggest mismatch, but to say the D-linemen are all inexperienced just isnt true, they have all been on the field before. Barry Turner was a freshmen AA and Suh was a second team AC. NU's O-line will be good enough to compete with (certainly not dominate) USC's front seven to keep enough of a running game going to keep them honest. To say that USC's secondary will not be tested is (besides the final score) the most rediculous thing in that post. USC's front 7 are the best in the country, which makes thier secondary (even though they are very good) the weakest spot of thier defense, and thats where Keller and our great group of WR's will need to attack. Even in your Arkansas example there was a 20 point swing and Arkansas sure as hell is'nt Memorial Stadium. To say NU's fans won't be a big enough factor shows you have no idea who you are dealing with, that will be the loudest most crazy stadium possibly of any game all year anywhere. Will it be a tough game.....yes. Could NU lose....yes. But to call the blow out is just lazy and ignorant. Even the mighty Huskers of the 90's lost a couple....and so will the Trojans. Pride comes before the fall. See you in Sept.
  15. Does it at least name FS as partly responsible? (his fault IMO)
  16. In reallity you are right, but so many people like to get on USC's nuts and talk about how f'ing great they are that there is usually some delusion that they are almost unbeatable unless they do it to themselves. And ESPN is still a buisnes....anouncers have to serve thier clients by appealing to most of them...or they will be replaced.
  17. Unfortunatly, they are probably 2 years away from being a good team to be taken seriously again. Dan Hawkins is the real deal and they wont be down forever.
  18. Michigan fans have very short memories. I bet they have forgotten our victory over them in last year's Rose Bowl. So, I know they forgot your victory over them. But we haven't forgotten have we? Sweet, sweet memories! The Michigan-USC game was the only time in my life I ever have or ever will root for USC....thats probably why they whooped UM sooooo bad!
  19. Sounds like a great idea! Keep us posted and I will see if there is anywhere my 2 cents would fit!
  20. What? He ran all sorts of 4 TE 1RB -3TE 1WR 1RB- 2TE 2WR 1RB- 2TE 1FB 1RB-3WR 1TE 1RB, the formations and mixture of guys for different packages is something IMO he did well. Not to mention using alot of freshmen on special teams to get them on the field.
  21. I probably would have to $hit in the drivers seat of thier car for that!
  22. I wonder if Luck is trying to do what Lenny Kravitz did with his hair by cutting it off to start his life again with a clean slate by changing his #? I know he was having some serious depression issues this winter.
  23. You are right they are amazing at most positions.......the problem is OU will find a way to beat them in the Red River Shootout somehow. You know...I'm not sure that OU can beat Texas this year. Who the hell has the QB job in Norman anyways? I hear they'll be solid again, but I don't think they can hang with Texas. I think they'll get a 2nd place finish in the Big 12 South unless aTm steps up big. Goodsen and Lane are both studs at RB for the Aggies. Can't stand 'em, but they're good. Well the quarterback question is obviously the big one because OU will have an amazing rushing attack, but they will need at least a competant passing game to take advantage of the fact that UT's secondary graduated, cause thats about thier only weakness.
