  1. I agree I still like watching those videos, the only thing that would make it better is to see Pelini leading them out instead of Callahan. If they went back to that I wouldn't even care that they started in the Callahan era, long as the era is over.
  2. Does soundly thrashing the Huskers, ending years of fulitlity against us count? If so... I suppose that helps for the year you soundly thrashed the Huskers. But what good is that going to be when the years of futility start again the next year?
  3. Ummmmm, I knew that......I was just ummmm.....seeing if anyone would catch it, yeah that's it.
  4. Yeah, because if there is one thing they need more of it is money!
  5. OJ was great but Rimington stood out as a lineman. Not exactly someone who is in the spotlight by just stepping on the field like OJ was.
  6. I don't think I would vote for Rickey against anyone on this list.
  7. I think they are both great running backs but there is something I like about how Jim Brown would just run you over.
  8. No denying that Crouch had talent at the college level, but in all honesty the only reason he won the heisman is because Grossman was a sophmore. I don't know if Newcombe would have been any better but both of those guys clearly had ego problems. Crouch is still doing what he did in college quitting and going home each time he is not a starter. The only difference is no one is chasing after him asking him to come back like Solich did.
  9. How about Mike Grant? I don't know if he is the most overhyped, but he didn't even come close to living up to his hype. I remember him whining about getting pulled after the 1st quarter, I don't remember for sure but I think he was saying something to the effect that he needed more then one quarter to get going.
  10. Tough pick but I had to go with Johnny. I personally feel they are both even based off of the positions they played.
  11. Tommie just flat out knew how to win. One of the most amazing players I ever watched.
  12. Sorry Mike, I had to go with Barry. I don't know of any running back I would vote for over him.
  13. I don't think I would have expected him to say anything different.
  14. Having the team behind you and knowing the playbook inside and out are some pretty good things to have in your corner when going for the starting job. I think Ganz looked pretty good last year and certainly had some mobility to help pick up some yards. I would agree with anyone who said his decision making was questionable at times, but I don't know if Lee would be any better. I think the competition this spring will be a good one to watch but I think Ganz will end up starting this year.
  15. I did the '97 Huskers against '04 USC. Huskers pounded them 41-13. BTW, they pounded them at USC. '07 Huskers didn't fair so well....87-23 USC. Is it just me or is the '95 Huskers not available?
  16. Isn't this what Jason Peter was talking about on his blog? I remember him writing something to the effect that the Blackshirts pounded each other all week and that is why they were so physical on Saturday. He was writing about how he was surprised the current defense does not practice much in pads.
  17. Sorry I have to disagree on the '94 Nebraska team. They played a very good Miami team in Miami after their home winning streak had been broken by Washington. That team was on a mission to not let it happen again that year. I would say the '94 team was better then '97.
  18. Ty did get screwed no doubt, I will hold off on saying it was because of his race since I don't know any inside details. I do think that Whitlock has a good point in that Weis got a contract extension for doing less then what Ty had done in his first year. Of course he got a massive contract extension.
  19. Very true, I think Bill would not be under the gun so much and even Pederson would still be AD if they didn't all but try and erase Husker football before Callahan.
  20. I was reading an article by Jason Whitlock who is hammering Notre Dame when it comes to Charlie Weis. He had a comment about Weis being lucky he doesn't coach in Lincoln: Teflon Charlie better be glad he doesn't coach at Nebraska, because fans of that legendary program have no problem identifying bad coaching. When Mark Mangino's band of two-star Kansas recruits smacked Bill Callahan's four-star All-Americans with 76 points, Callahan had to answer immediate questions about his impending resignation. Apparently Whitlock feels there should be more heat on Charlie then there currently is. I just thought it was interesting that he doesn't feel Weis would be as fortunate in Huskerland. Here is the full article
  21. It's sad to say but i have to agree 100%. It used to be that our fans wouldn't pull this crap, now we are like everyone else...I think that's the GREATEST downfall of this program... From what I read it seems it is mostly students who are doing this, that does not make it right though. The parents of those kids need to get on them and let them know that kind of behavior is not tolerated. Of course it certainly doesn't help that we have some idiot fans talking trash to the Husker players and that example gets put on the news. There is no doubt it is sad what is going on this year with the football team, but what saddens me even more is how some fans have dealt with it. As much as everyone talks about how Callahan's era has tarnished Husker tradition, those fans have tarnished Husker tradition far worse with their behavior then Callahan ever could. They have made it so Husker fans will be known as the best fans in the country (as long as they are winning).
  22. "COVERED", eh? Watch for yourself, just after the 4 minute mark of the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS-iBSGviHw I don't know about you, but I see a lot more field than garbage in that video. Looks like about 5 pieces of crap to me... on our sideline that is, clearly the 5 pieces of crap on Nebraska's side of the field were wearing headsets, you guys just hadn't realized it yet WOW, that video was the best you had? While I saw garbage being thrown on the field I also saw people clearing it as it came flying on the field, and I guess you must live in some fantasy land that makes you believe that the only garbage thrown on the field was during the short time the cameras were on the stands and no garbage was thrown before or after. I think the only thing sadder then fans acting like a bunch of retards, is someone actually trying to downplay such behavior. As far as I am concerned you have just spoken volumes for CU fans.
  23. Personally this is why I think Pelini with a good OC would be great for NU football. Ask any one of those 2003 Blackshirts and they will tell you they were more then ready to run through the wall for Pelini.
