  1. Think he was referring to Mitch Browning....
  2. I just posted a link about a potential candidate in Rumorville, and I'm too lazy to post it here too.
  3. This will probably get lost and re-posted a few times, but check out what Dennis Dodd has to say: link be sure to read to the very end too. Kansas deserves better Posted on: December 3, 2009 8:32 pm Edited on: December 3, 2009 9:42 pm Mark Mangino will never be a head coach again, not at this level. Not at a place like Kansas where he took a basketball school to the Orange Bowl. Not in the Big 12, where just two years ago he became national coach of the year. It is both troubling and just that Mangino is gone after allegations of verbal and physical abuse of his players. Troubling because if allegations are true, then dozens of coaches and players are guilty of staying silent -- for years. Only during a season-ending seven-game losing streak did word leak out. Troubling because those same coaches and players were too intimidated to say anything, worried about losing their scholarships or their jobs. Who knows how many other players and coaches have been put in this situation at other schools? At Kansas, a code of silence enabled a flawed man to allegedly belittle his players. The decision to get rid of the coach is just, because Mangino had to be stopped. His methods went beyond tough love or aggressive coaching. If only a fraction of the episodes are true -- many will never come to light -- then Mangino has been in denial about his conduct for too long. At this point it seems that the terms of the settlement will keep us from ever knowing the true extent of the alleged abuse. Reports have some of the conduct going back decades to a high school job for Mangino in Pennsylvania. We can only hope that Mangino becomes a better man. As a coach, he was a discliplinarian, a trait that belied his 400-pound frame. Based on the allegations, anger management counseling might be in order. Let's hope his alleged victims recover too. Now it's time to move on. Buffalo's Turner Gill is a perfect replacement. Right now, he is No. 1 on AD Lew Perkins' list. The interest, it seems, is mutual. A good coach -- and a better man -- for Kansas is waiting in the wings.
  4. I think he *only* makes around 600-700k there and you'd figure the KU job could approach 1.5-2 million, but I would guess he remains with the Cardinal at least another year. Michigan could very well be open next year and he's an alum. I could see his agent going with this to get him a raise though.
  5. He's the evil version of the Dr. and he's hilarious. Link Recently tweeted: "Heading to Dallas and 'Jerry's World' tomorrow. Can't wait to punish one of his bathrooms. Think I'm flushing? Think again. Hate that guy"
  6. sigh...nobody reads Rumorville... Hearing there could be an announcement later this afternoon.
  7. Who do we hire after Notre Dame hires away Bo?
  8. Don't worry. We'll take those bastards down. quick edit: and afterwards, I"ll meet you for a drink at the Aardvark.
  9. Edit: I tried making a poll but I jacked it up. The choices were: a) 9-5; B) 10-4; c) 11-3. Edit 2: Dammit, stop making that stupid sunglasses smiley. It's supposed to be a b.
  10. /topic edit: test edit 2 edit 3
  11. I expect they would call Randy Edsall first, as he has a history with the AD. If that didn't work out, it wouldn't shock me to think Turner could be a legitimate candidate.
  12. Banned??? Nope, I think the mods changed his name to Cornball, which probably has him confused enough. But it seemed whenever they moved his threads to the B.S. forum, he could never find them and assumed they had been deleted.
  13. Is he really in an administrative role? I mean come on, I see him all the time on tv, standing on the sideline yelling into a headset. He likes being on the tunnel walk too.
  14. This could be a legit spot for Cornholer's posts about Cody Green in Love Library. Sadly, I feel he will never find the sub-forum.
  15. Per Unsportsmanlike Conduct today, the hosts suggested that they wouldn't be shocked whatsoever if the Akron job were to open and Carl's name is tossed around.
  16. Saw it in game for the first time last night. Money, can we get a version here? I'm willing to wager that this video had a significant impact on the vital recruits we had in attendance. Well done, again, epoc.
  17. I think that one is the series that aired on Discovery HD, and I believe they have different narrators. Not completely sure though, I just bought this one because it had lava on the cover. I'm a sucker for a shiny package.
  18. I had heard something about movies like that. Do you know where they have a list of them or anything? Amazon
  19. I have this and it's pretty amazing. Also, I just picked up Star Trek today, so I haven't watched it yet.
  20. Which won't be long if he doesn't take care of himself...... this. did yall notice how much he sweated today? Dang. I agree. I respect the guy, but damn, I actually worry for his family. I've known much healthier/younger people who are no longer with us.
  21. This. Osborne was literally the only one who didn't. Frank did it. Bill did it. Mangino probably did it more than Bo today, you just can't tell because his mouth accounts for such a little proportion of him.
