  1. Good move for him. No one who ever graduated from UNL ever amounted to anything. Sincerely, Warren Buffett Who also had a degree from Wharton at UPenn- another Ivy League school. Lay off the kid, if I were in his shoes I would have done the same thing. I would take an education from Yale over UNL any day and I have a degree from UNL. Attending Yale like playing for the Huskers is a once in a lifetime thing. It's his life, let him make what he wants of it. He left the program without much controversy unlike other players that are kicked off and make a huge fuss. He has my thumbs up.

  3. Glenn was an unfortunate situation.. he made the mistake of selling his free student tickets- not like that isn't common practice. Glenn worked hard and was a big contributor at LB when he played last year, I don't see the reason to knock him. After he was dismissed he didn't create a big scene. He has no beef with me.
  4. Why? we need a quality returner- we have struggled in punt returns and kick returns for years.
  5. Dear Lord, the battles we go through life,
  6. We all wish AIDS would go away... That was a good one! Does anybody have a pic of what these red lines on the press box look like?
  7. I agree with the other, I was frustrated the entire game inside the stadium when Lee was playing because he was throwing the ball to receivers out of stride and behind them. Maybe you couldn't see it from PPV, but the other people around me in the stadium noticed the same thing and consequently complained about it like myself.
  8. The ribbon boards don't take away from the game- they add to it. The High Def was nice, it was noticeable but not as large of an upgrade as I thought I would see. Schnellenberger's mustache was very Col. Sanders esque.
  9. Lets just say its fate; There are 16 Jersey Numbers retired in memorial stadium.. Cody Green's would be the 17th, and he is #17. It's Fate.
  10. So this has nothing to do with Watson even making comments that the difference between the #1 and #2 QBs is quickly disappearing.. You're absolutely right, Green is terrible. Lets all go home and come back next year when Lee is even more seasoned than he is right now because Green will obviously never play. His redshirt wouldn't have been burned the first game if he wasn't going to play this season for considerable a considerable amount of time.. we also played LaTravis Washington in the first game who looked more than capable to be a back up QB.. Not a 10 win great QB, but capable to run plays and throw the ball. If we were merely worried about a backup to the starter, why even burn CG's rshirt and why not just prep Washington to take over Lee should he be injured? By your reasoning that is more logical for the program.
  11. Isn't this sort of like last year when Helu and Q were out performing Lucky and we kept giving ML the ball simply because he was the starter? From being there in person I was not as enamored with Zac Lee as many on this board are. He threw the ball often behind the receivers and not in stride. How good is a quarter back if he hits all his receivers out of stride so they can't pick up additional yards after the catch or throws balls that would have been picked off by conference opponents. By the Numbers: When Recruited Cody Green # Ht:6'4" # Wt:220 lbs # 40:4.6 secs # Bench Max:315 # Squat Max:360 # Vertical:33 inches Rivals Rank: 5.8 (Low Rank Nationally due to no numbers available junior year due to torn ankle ligaments that benched him during the season) High School Stats: 3rd in the nation in accuracy; 65.5% completed his senior year with 3,226 yards and 36 TDs with only 5 ints in 351 attempts and he was 2nd in the nation for QB's on the ground with 1610 yards and 25 TDs- 2 more TDs on the ground in the state championship for a season total of 27 in the course of 15 games. 215.1 Passing Avg, 107 Scramble Yards; 4.2 TD per game avg .33 Int per game 23.4 pass attempts per game Zac Lee # Ht:6'2" # Wt:200 lbs # 40:4.6 secs Rivals Rank: 5.9 Junior College Stats: 64.2 % in the air 3,471 yards 31 TDS 5 ints in 360 attempts and on the ground he only had 6 TDS in the course of 13 games. 267 Passing Avg, 2.85 TDS per game 27.7 Attempts Per Game Standardizing the green results per attempt for the same attempts as lee, his average would be Passing Yardage: 251.9 Yards vs 267: Winner Lee Passing TDS: 2.4 Per Game vs 2.38: Winner Green Scoring Avg: 4.2 TDS vs 2.85: Winner Green Scramble Yrdage 107 Yards vs NA (but only 6 TDS): Winner Green Physical Size: 6'4 220 4.6(40) vs 6'2 200 4.6(40): Winner Green Does any of this really matter? NO Just because you are a starter now, doesn't mean you are entitled to it all season. Let them battle at practice and lets play the best QB when game time comes, week to week. Like the black shirts, every position and all playing time is earned- no one is guaranteed to play. End of Debate.
  12. Cody Green won't red shirt... might as well keep it in the case of injury.
  13. Seems like it would be a good idea.. Just sacrifice some time at half time and go to the pavilion with all the kid stuff... I imagine if you wear him out on the inflatables I imagine he will be a more accommodating seat partner. GBR
  14. Congrats Ladies, 2009 NCAA Women's bowling national champions, Final set: 190 Nebraska > 135 University of Central Missouri Cassandra Leuthold was named most outstanding player of 2009 tournament
  15. Lady Huskers off to a good start!! Keep it up girls!
  16. He has definitely packed on weight, and the weight that is fat is perhaps not for the best.
  17. I don't know how you could consider UNL harder than UT where the requirement for instate entrance is being within the top 10% of your class; which has been a huge reason for controversy in texas for years as students in private schools whose top students go to private institutions out on the coasts leave the exceptional middle range students at private high schools to less proficient alternatives, despite being more than adequate academically to attend UT.
  18. I would put my money on Alabama as being #1 prestige school
  19. I am from SD, but I don't think the ol' Jacks will offer much of a challenge. South Dakota's program is a pale comparison to any major bcs conference. Should be a blowout :-/
  20. with the economic situation, i doubt it, but I would say 65-75 is a reasonable guess.
  21. We had an improved Defense, but it was not stellar, If we want to win the Big12 we need to step it up big time. How myopic are some of you Oklahoma / Mizzou? Anyone remember these games. You can't get blown out and expect a reasonable ranking, blow outs linger longer than a week in voters minds.
  22. Dean Steinkuhler or Tommie Frazier, who can argue with a 33-3 record?
  23. I really think that the pac10 should add Utah and BYU or Boise State, would solve all the dumb questions about whether or not Utah is a BCS worthy team.. Oh wait they only stomped Alabama
