  1. Lots of recruits read message boards. They just know better than to post.
  2. Kid's probably tired of being brutalized on Nebraska boards and wants to set the record straight. :-)
  3. Baylor loses to Cal, no big surprise but it was a good run and a good season for Baylor. Texas vs. Texas A&M starts in about 20 minutes.
  4. Head on down to Pelini's office there, and let us know how that turns out. I'll call the ambulance. ....ok?? Way to be a big tough guy. All my post was insinuating was that I want our offensive identity to start to take form sooner rather than later. Do you see anything happening? Do you not want answers? That's what I thought. Also, I think Bo has more sense to beat me senseless for telling him I want answers. Kicking people's asses must be your way of solving things? Shows alot about you. I wasn't the the one who posted "I want some F'ing answers now!!" So don't turn this back on me, you're the idiot who posted it. Bo only answers to TO, not you, not anybody else. You can demand all the "F'ing" answers you want. I'm betting on crickets chirping is about all the answer you're going to get. We already tried the "Cricket Chirping" offense this season.
  5. No, no, I thought that too, but it IS actually; "in like Flint" from the late 60's movie title... Unless I've missed an earlier reference... "In like Flynn" has been around since the 40's. The movie title in the 60's was a play on the phrase.
  6. If they're running behind schedule they just set the clock back.
  7. Video webcast is confirmed for both regional semifinal matches in Omaha. I have added links in the Regional Semifinal schedule thread.
  8. Good news for Nebraskans. NETV will broadcast the Friday match with ISU. No word yet on a webcast but if NETV has it, chances are good it will be available on the web, too.

  10. I think we need to send an additional 30,000 troops to the NCAA offices to flush out al Qaeda and deny them a safe haven.
  11. Football coach Bob Stoops had his contract extended through the 2015 season and will make $3.675 million this coming season. His new contract includes an annual raise of $250,000, a $700,000 stay bonus each July and an additional one-time $800,000 bonus in 2011. If Stoops remains through all seven years, he will make more than $4 million a year in the final five years of the contract and make nearly $5 million in the the 2011 season. Well, he should have gone to Notre Dame then. I don't know how he can make it on those wages. At least he lives in a low cost area.
  12. This is directly related to football revenue. Top 10 schools in football revenue for 2008 1. Texas $87.6 million 2. Ohio State $68.1 million 3. Florida $66.15 million 4. Georgia $65.2 million 5. Alabama $64.6 million 6. LSU $61.9 million 7. Penn State $61.7 million 8. Auburn $58.6 million 9. South Carolina $57.1 million 10. Notre Dame $56.9 million Nebraska is #2 in the Big 12 at $55.2 million. Oklahoma is at $42.6 million. Texas is so far ahead of everyone else it is ridiculous. Yes, the salaries are insane but unlike the NFL they are not handing out multi-million dollar contracts to players so this is where the arms race lies in college football. Until people stop buying tickets, they will price them as high as they can. It sucks but fans don't seem to be speaking with their pocketbooks so this is the result.
  13. knapplc, I completely agree on Coach Cook, Jerritt Elliott is a good coach and a great recruiter but I think Cook is more savvy with strategy and talent development. Texas will keep the heat on for the next several years though. It's good for the conference and college volleyball in general, just want to keep the Longhorns in their place as #2 in the Big 12. :-) Losing Haley Eckerman was bad enough, losing her to a conference rival was the worst possible scenario. Eckerman and Morgan Broekhuis (who I am very excited about) would have been one killer duo. However, I have heard rumors of another highly-ranked recruit for 2011 that would be very nice addition to the class. No telling when (or if) that will be official. Dykstra has really been a standout on the AVP Tour and I imagine she'll also play sand volleyball for Nebraska once it's up and running. I have only seen her on video but people who have seen her play in person came away very impressed. She has the kind of versatility that Cook likes and maybe she'd even get a look at setter depending on how the battle for libero shakes out between her and Megan Pendergast (assuming Lara is indeed coming in as a libero/DS) and how Kristen Kelsay develops. Dykstra might be on the short side to be a premier OH at this level but I have no doubt that Coach Cook will find the best way to utilize her talent. As with so many Husker players, it will be fun to watch her develop as a college player. Broekhuis also ran a 6-2 offense in HS so she has seen time at setter. I think there will be a movement towards taller setters (a la Ashley Engle this season) and it wouldn't surprise me to see Nebraska experiment with a 6-2 with Broekhuis setting out of the back row. Even playing her at setter in a 5-1 could be interesting although that would be unlikely because we will need her at OPP in the front row. There will be all sorts of possibilities with the talent coming in.
  14. 1620 reported it a while ago and they are listed as commits on the Rivals page.

  17. Come on, Lavonte, make some Huskers happy. :-)
  18. No TV coverage for Friday (I hope this changes but not optimistic), not even ESPN360.com. The Regional Finals on Saturday are on ESPNU. I will post a complete schedule soon. Any announcement of a webcast will likely come later today (or even tomorrow); they will want to sell as many tickets as possible before announcing anything.
